Banpresto Pokémon Fluffy Plush: Every Series and Pokémon (2026)
By Dexhaul Team · October 28, 2026 · 6 min read
Banpresto makes more Pokémon plush series than any other single manufacturer, and the naming system is entirely in Japanese. This guide maps every active soft plush series to its style, size and price so you know what you're buying before it ships from an import shop.
Banpresto is a brand of Bandai Namco Entertainment, merged into Bandai Spirits in 2014. Their Pokémon plush are officially licensed by The Pokémon Company and were originally released as prize figures in Japanese UFO catcher crane machines.
Most reach Western buyers through specialist import shops. DexHaul is independent and unofficial; all products below are sold by independent third-party merchants.
Start with Mofugutto if you want a character under $40 with a known name. Start with Super Fluffy if you want a display-size plush in the 36–41 cm range.

Where to start: three picks by use case
Three series stand out for different buyers right now.
Best gift under $35: Mofugutto
The standard Mofugutto runs $12–$35 depending on size and character. The 9-inch Vanillite and 15-cm Sneasel both sit under $35 at current import prices. The round body and oversized face photograph well and read clearly as Pokémon merchandise without needing packaging to identify them.
Best for a character collector: Pokepeace
Pokepeace releases character-specific themed variants: the Espurr Type Invasion version and the Espurr Starry Night version are two distinct plush of the same character with different accessories and poses. If your target character has a Pokepeace entry, it is often the most detailed soft plush in the Banpresto lineup for that Pokémon.
Best display piece: Super Fluffy
The Super Fluffy and Big Plush releases run 36–41 cm (roughly 14–16 inches). They cost $41–$57 at current import prices, observed October 2026.
The Dragonite at 37 cm ($56.99) and Umbreon at 36 cm ($48.99) are the most stocked options in this size tier. Both have the dense, ultra-soft fill that holds a shelf pose without a stand.
Telling Banpresto plush apart from non-official listings
Every genuine Banpresto Pokémon plush carries a Banpresto hang tag and a Pokémon Company International copyright line on the sewn tag inside. The hang tag uses the Banpresto logo, the Pokémon logo, and a product number. Listings with neither tag photo are usually second-hand imports with no tag; that is not automatically a problem, but it removes one verification point.
The Mofugutto and Mega Mofugutto names appear on the hang tag in Japanese. If a listing says "Mofugutto" but the tag photo shows no Japanese characters, ask the seller for a tag photo before buying.
One practical note on condition: Banpresto prize figures, including plush, are pulled from crane machines. They arrive at import shops in new condition but sometimes without original retail packaging, since the crane unit itself is the "packaging". A listing showing just the plush with no box is standard for this category.
Size, care and display
Standard Mofugutto and Pokepeace plush (9–12 in.) fit standard plush display cases and standing cube shelves. The Super Fluffy and Big Plush at 36–41 cm need a shelf at least 15 inches deep; the Dragonite at 37 cm requires about 18 inches of clearance wing-to-tail to display flat.
All Banpresto plush use polyester fill and polyester fabric. Surface spot-clean only: the filled body and hang-tag stitching are not designed for machine wash. The plush inner fill compresses over time in display poses; periodic gentle reshaping restores the original shape without any cleaning product.
The price difference between a standard Mofugutto (9 in., $12–$35) and a Super Fluffy of the same character (36 cm, $41–$57) works out to roughly $15–$20 more for a plush that is about 5–6 inches taller. That premium reflects the fill volume rather than a different manufacturing tier: both lines are officially licensed Banpresto prize figures.
For more on organising a plush collection alongside TCG and figure items, see the DexHaul plush buying guide. The Banpresto Pokémon prize figures guide covers the separate figure lines (SOFVIMATES, Relaxing Time dioramas, VIBRATION STARS) if you want the non-plush Banpresto lines. This is also a solid Q4 gift option: Pokémon plush across all price tiers are some of the most-searched Pokémon gifts each year according to Pokémon's official licensed accessories page.
Frequently asked questions
What does "Mofugutto" mean?
Mofugutto (もふぐっと) is Japanese onomatopoeia describing the sensation of grabbing something soft and fluffy. It is Banpresto's series name for their standard-size soft Pokémon plush, typically 9–12 inches tall.
Are Banpresto Pokémon plush officially licensed?
Yes. Every Banpresto Pokémon plush carries an official Pokémon Company International license. The sewn inner tag includes a copyright line and the Banpresto hang tag shows the Pokémon logo alongside the Banpresto brand mark.
What is the difference between Mofugutto and Mega Mofugutto?
Mega Mofugutto is the oversized version of the standard line, running approximately 12 inches. The style and construction are the same; Mega is simply a larger plush with more fill volume, typically priced $5–$10 higher than the standard 9-inch versions.
Is the Relax Time plush the same as the Relax Time figure?
No. Banpresto makes two distinct Relax Time products: the fixed-pose vinyl diorama figures (covered separately in the prize figures guide) and soft plush releases under the same Relax Time name. The plush versions are fabric-filled, not vinyl, and run from 9 to 16 inches depending on the character.
How do Banpresto plush reach Western shops?
They are distributed primarily through Japanese crane game machines (UFO catchers), then sold on by import specialists and second-hand sellers to international buyers. Most arrive without retail-box packaging; that is normal for this category, not a sign of a fake.
