Is LEGO Pokémon Pikachu 72152 Worth It (2026)
By Dexhaul Team · October 30, 2026 · 4 min read
The LEGO Pokémon Pikachu and Poké Ball 72152 is worth it for adult LEGO builders who want a proper centrepiece display. At $199.99 MSRP for 2,050 pieces, the per-piece cost works out to $0.098, which places it in the middle of the LEGO Pokémon line and is competitive with adult display sets at this scale.
Skip it if you are new to LEGO Pokémon builds. The LEGO Pokémon Eevee 72151 at $59.99 is a better entry point. Skip it too if shelf space is tight: this is a large set designed to be a focal point, not a desk accent.

What your money buys with LEGO Pokémon Pikachu 72152
The set delivers a two-part display build: a Pikachu model and a Poké Ball, totalling 2,050 pieces. Both are designed for adult collectors, rated 18+, and intended to sit on a shelf or desk rather than to be played with.
The key number to assess value is per-piece cost. Here is how the 72152 compares across the current LEGO Pokémon lineup, calculated from MSRP and confirmed piece counts per Brickset and LEGO's January 2026 press release:
| Set | Pieces | MSRP (USD) | Per piece | Age |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Eevee 72151 | 587 | $59.99 | $0.102 | 18+ |
| Munchlax 72150 | 757 | $69.99 | $0.092 | 18+ |
| Arcanine 72160 | 1,190 | $109.99 | $0.092 | 18+ |
| Rayquaza 72168 | 1,083 | $129.99 | $0.120 | 18+ |
| Pikachu 72152 | 2,050 | $199.99 | $0.098 | 18+ |
The Pikachu 72152 costs more per piece than Munchlax and Arcanine, but noticeably less than Rayquaza: $0.098 versus $0.120. For the largest set in the line, that is solid value at this scale.
At MSRP and at today's prices
The LEGO Pokémon Pikachu and Poké Ball 72152 launched February 27, 2026 at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $199.99 USD, as confirmed by Brickset. Most independent sellers observed on October 30, 2026 list the set at or near that MSRP.
A small number of listings appear at lower prices. Check each shop's shipping terms and seller rating before buying: listings well below MSRP sometimes reflect a different regional version or secondary-market condition.
Cheaper ways to get a LEGO Pokémon display
If $199.99 is more than you want to spend, two sets in the same line give you a genuine LEGO Pokémon display build for less.
The LEGO Pokémon Munchlax 72150 (757 pieces, $69.99 MSRP) is the best value per piece in the lineup at $0.092 per piece. It is also a less demanding build, which makes it a better choice as a first LEGO Pokémon set.
The LEGO Pokémon Eevee 72151 (587 pieces, $59.99 MSRP) is the entry-level pick. It is compact enough for a desk, and Eevee's round shape makes it one of the more satisfying builds in the series. Neither replaces the scale and presence of the Pikachu 72152, but both are valid if budget or space is the concern.
Who should buy the LEGO Pokémon Pikachu 72152
This set is aimed squarely at adult collectors who already enjoy LEGO builds, own Pokémon products, or both.
Buy it for a dedicated LEGO builder
At 2,050 pieces, the Pikachu 72152 is a multi-session build. Someone who already builds LEGO sets for the experience will find real value in the time it takes, plus a display piece they will actually keep out.
Buy it as a statement Pokémon gift
It works well as a Q4 gift for a Pokémon collector who has most of the smaller merchandise already. At $199.99 it sits in a gift tier that says "I actually thought about this." The 2026 holiday gift guide covers other premium Pokémon options at similar price points.
Skip it for casual or first-time buyers
If the recipient has never built a LEGO set, or if Pokémon is a mild interest rather than a real one, $199.99 is a lot to spend. One of the sub-$70 sets in the line is a better fit for a casual introduction.
