Polaroid x Pokémon: Nine-Piece Camera Collection Announced for October 2026

Polaroid and The Pokémon Company have announced their first collaboration: a nine-piece limited-edition collection arriving October 5, 2026, celebrating Pokémon's 30th anniversary.
Pre-orders open August 25 through Pokémon Center in the US, UK, and Canada, and directly at Polaroid.com. The collection spans three cameras, three film options, and three accessories, all themed around Pikachu, Sylveon, and the classic Poké Ball design.

Two camera formats, three designs
The collaboration uses two different Polaroid camera platforms.
The larger option is the Polaroid Now Generation 3 Poké Ball Edition, priced at $139.99 (£129.99). It shoots square images on i-Type or 600 film, with a print area of 3.1 x 3.1 inches. The body runs red, white, and black in a full Poké Ball design, and the shutter button is Poké Ball-shaped across all three cameras in the collection.
The two Go cameras are $99.99 each (£89.99). The Polaroid Go Generation 3 Pikachu Edition is yellow with Pikachu line art printed across the body and a tail charm attached to the strap. The Sylveon Edition is pink and white, with bow motifs and a Sylveon-themed ribbon strap.
The Go Gen 3 is worth flagging separately: it is the world's smallest instant analog camera. Its 64mm lens has two aperture settings (f/14.4 and f/32), and prints measure 1.9 x 1.8 inches on Go film. You get a genuinely pocketable analog camera, at about half the print size of the Now.
Both formats have Xenon flash. The Go is the more portable pick; the Now produces a larger print.
Film: character borders on every print
Every film pack in the collection is character-matched.
The Color i-Type Film Pokémon Edition ($22.99) works with the Now Gen 3 and features a rotating cast of characters on the print borders: Bulbasaur, Charmander, Squirtle, Gengar, Umbreon, and Mimikyu. Go cameras take smaller cartridges: the Go Color Film Pikachu Edition Double Pack and the Sylveon Edition Double Pack are $24.99 each, with borders matching their respective camera designs.
You are not just getting a themed camera. Every print you eject comes framed in Pokémon artwork specific to your chosen character.
The darkslide detail most reviews are not covering
Every Polaroid film pack contains a dark slide: a protective sheet that shields the unexposed film from light when you first load the cartridge into the camera. Under normal circumstances, the camera ejects it immediately and you throw it away.
With the Pokémon collaboration, those dark slides have been redesigned as collectible art pieces. Each features a Pokémon character silhouette printed on a color-matched border: Snorlax on light blue, Gengar on dark purple, Togepi on beige, and Charmander on orange. The finished slides are sized identically to a Polaroid print, so they fit directly into the collection's photo album or any standard Polaroid sleeve.
It is a simple but smart decision. Something most photographers discard the moment they load a pack becomes a second reason to buy one.
Accessories
Three accessories complete the nine-piece set.
A Poké Ball-design camera case ($24.99) fits both Go models. A universal camera strap ($14.99) is compatible with both the Go and Now formats. A Pokémon-themed photo album ($24.99) holds prints from either camera, sized to fit both the smaller Go output and the larger Now square prints.
The case is Go-specific; the strap and album work with everything in the collection.

One practical note on film: the Now Gen 3 accepts both i-Type and 600 film cartridges. The Pokémon collection's i-Type film is the native choice. If you want to shoot standard 600 film alongside the Pokémon packs, the camera supports it.
