Pokémon Figure Display Cases: Acrylic and Glass Options (2026)
By Dexhaul Team · October 25, 2026 · 7 min read
Most acrylic display cases sold as "Pokémon cases" are cut for sealed TCG boxes, not for loose figures.
There are three distinct products here: cases sized for Elite Trainer Boxes and booster boxes, cases purpose-built for Premium Figure Collections that include a statue inside the sealed packaging, and display solutions for standalone collectible figures like the Takara-Tomy Moncolle line. Buying the wrong type means a case that won't close, a figure that looks lost in an oversized shell, or a sealed product left unprotected because the case is three centimetres too short.
This guide maps each case type to what it actually fits, explains what UV ratings mean in practice, and covers the storage mistakes that cause the most damage over time.

At a glance: case types and what they fit
| Case type | What it fits | Approx. inner clearance | Observed price range (Oct 25, 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|
| ETB acrylic case | Standard Elite Trainer Box | ~11" × 7.5" × 4" | $13 – $26 |
| UPC acrylic case | Ultra Premium Collection box | ~13" × 9.5" × 5.5" | $35 – $60 |
| PFC acrylic case | Premium Figure Collection box (includes figure inside sealed packaging) | ~10" × 8" × 5" | $33 – $37 |
| Small acrylic cube | Individual Moncolle or Scale World figures (1.5" – 4") | 4" – 6" per side | $8 – $15 |
| Glass display cabinet | Multiple figures, larger plush, full shelf collections | Varies by unit | $50 – $200+ |
Dimensions above are approximate and vary by seller. Measure your product before ordering, particularly the height, since a figure sitting inside sealed PFC packaging adds 1.5 – 2 cm to the standard box footprint.
Choose by what you're protecting
Sealed collection boxes that include a figure
The Pokémon TCG Prismatic Evolutions Premium Figure Collection is a good example: the sealed product contains Espeon and Umbreon statues alongside the TCG packs. You're not displaying the figure alone; you're displaying the whole sealed box. That means you need a case cut to the sealed box dimensions, not to the figure inside it.
Standard ETB cases will not fit. A PFC-specific case accounts for the extra height the figure adds to the base box. The seller at tcg-cases.de lists a dedicated case for the Prismatische Entwicklungen (Prismatic Evolutions) PFC; it is the only format in stock that closes properly on that product.
Individual collectible figures
Takara-Tomy Moncolle figures run 1.5 – 3 inches (4 – 8 cm) depending on the Pokémon. Most fit in a generic small acrylic display cube with 4 – 5 inches of internal clearance. Scale World 1/20-scale figures from Bandai are taller for larger Pokémon; Charizard and Rayquaza in this line stand at 4 – 5 inches on their base.
The safest approach: measure the tallest figure in your set, add one inch of clearance, and buy a cube with at least that internal height. Purpose-sized cubes give a much cleaner presentation than a loose figure sitting in an empty ETB shell.
Larger collections and plush figures
For five or more figures, or any figure over 10 inches tall, individual acrylic cubes become impractical and expensive. A glass display cabinet handles scale, holds multiple pieces at once, and accommodates larger plush that no TCG product case will fit. Generic tempered-glass cabinets start around $50; purpose-branded display furniture can reach $200 and up.
The main limitation of glass over acrylic: standard float glass blocks very little UV light. If long-term colour preservation matters, a UV-rated acrylic case provides better protection at a lower price point for individual pieces.
UV protection: why the rating matters
Standard clear acrylic blocks roughly 20 – 30% of ultraviolet light. That is enough to look protective without providing meaningful protection.
Cases rated 99% UV resistant use a different polymer compound with UV-absorbing additives built into the sheet, not a coating on the surface. The difference is permanent and does not degrade with cleaning. For any figure or sealed product near a window or under fluorescent shop lighting, this distinction matters. UV is the primary cause of yellowing on white or light-coloured figure plastic, of paint fade on detail work, and of subtle foil oxidation on sealed TCG packaging over time.
The 99% UV-rated ETB cases on the market (observed $13 – $26 on October 25, 2026) cost the same as unrated options. The rating difference is in the material spec, not the price. Check the product listing for an explicit UV percentage; "UV resistant" without a figure is not a 99% claim.
Mistakes that damage Pokémon figures in display
Using an ETB case on a UPC or PFC box
An Ultra Premium Collection box is roughly 30% larger in every dimension than a standard ETB. An ETB case will not close on a UPC box, or will warp and crack if forced closed. Same problem applies to Premium Figure Collection boxes, where the figure inside the sealed packaging raises the box height. Always match the case to the specific product format, not just to the TCG product category.
Sealing loose figures without desiccant
Airtight cases trap moisture. A single silica gel packet inside the case prevents humidity buildup, which causes rust on metal figure stands, mould on rubber or soft vinyl pieces, and fogging on the inside of the acrylic over time. Silica gel packets are inexpensive and widely available; one small packet per case is sufficient for most display environments.
Direct sunlight, even with UV-rated acrylic
UV-blocking does not prevent heat damage. Direct sunlight heats the case interior, softens adhesive labels, and causes slow warping in acrylic over months. Position display cases away from direct sun regardless of UV rating; indirect natural light or controlled interior lighting is fine.
Stacking cases directly on top of each other
Magnetic lids on ETB and UPC cases are not load-bearing. Stacking a second case on top distorts the lid seal over time, which defeats the airtight protection. Use shelving or display risers to keep cases separate.
Display cases as a gift this holiday season
A purpose-sized display case pairs cleanly with a Pokémon figure or sealed TCG collection box as a complete holiday gift. The case tells the recipient you thought about the product, not just the product itself.
ETB cases ($13 – $26) work well alongside any current set ETB. UPC cases ($35 – $60) suit anyone with a sealed Ultra Premium Collection they have not yet cased. The Pokémon 2026 holiday gift guide covers budget-bracket options across figures, cards, and accessories if you need more ideas for a full gift set.
FAQ
What size acrylic case do Moncolle figures need?
Most Moncolle figures fit in a display cube with 4 – 5 inches of internal clearance. Measure the tallest figure in your set and add one inch before ordering. Larger Pokémon in the Scale World or Monster Collection lines can reach 4 – 5 inches on their stands.
Do all ETB acrylic cases fit every Pokémon Elite Trainer Box?
Standard ETBs share the same outer dimensions across most sets, so a generic ETB case usually fits. The exception is products labelled "Elite Trainer Box Plus" or oversized regional variants, which may be taller. Check the case listing's internal dimensions against your specific product before ordering.
Is glass or acrylic better for long-term Pokémon figure display?
UV-rated acrylic outperforms standard float glass for UV protection. Plain glass blocks very little UV, while 99% UV-rated acrylic blocks nearly all UVA and UVB. Tempered glass cabinets have advantages in scratch resistance and shatter containment for larger collections, but for individual figure protection, UV-rated acrylic is the better material.
Can I display a loose Moncolle figure inside an ETB acrylic case?
Physically, yes. A 2-inch Moncolle figure in an ETB case will simply sit inside a much larger container. For presentation, a purpose-sized small cube at 4 – 5 inches per side gives a much cleaner, proportional display. Save the ETB case for an actual ETB.
Does the magnetic lid on acrylic cases affect the product inside?
No adverse effects are documented on sealed TCG products or standard plastic figures. The magnets are small and positioned at the case edges, well away from any sensitive materials. Loose magnetic tokens or metallic collector coins kept directly against the lid are the one edge case worth keeping in mind.
