Mega Forces Tins: Set of 3 or Individual Buying? How to Pay Less for All Three

The Mega Forces Set of 3 Tins at $134.99 from Flipside Gaming is the most prominent single-checkout option for collectors who want all three Mega Evolution tins from ME05. It is not the cheapest way to get there.

Nine days post-launch (Mega Forces released August 28, 2026), independent merchants are listing the three tins at prices ranging from $29.45 each to $49.95 each. Two alternative bundle listings exist at prices below $134.99. Running the numbers before you check out is worth four minutes.

What Each Tin Contains

Every Mega Forces tin is built the same way: one foil promo card featuring the tin's headlining Mega Evolution Pokémon in ex form, plus four booster packs from the ME05 Mega Forces set. The promo card is not a pullable card from standard boosters. It exists only in the tin.

Three tins, three exclusive promos: Mega Darkrai ex, Mega Dragonite ex, and Mega Zeraora ex. Collectors who want the complete promo set need all three, which is where the bundle question becomes relevant. Players who want specific Pokémon for deck-building only need one or two.

Mega Darkrai ex

Darkrai is the Generation IV Mythical from Sinnoh, introduced in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl (2006). It's a Dark-type Mythical with a long TCG presence across the Diamond and Pearl era, the EX series, and now the Mega Evolution series. The Mythical classification puts Darkrai in a smaller pool than most Legendary Pokémon, which gives the Mega Darkrai ex card some additional collector appeal independent of gameplay applications.

The Darkrai ex tin is the most available of the three at competitive price points. KanZenGames lists it at $29.45 and Card Dynasty lists it at $31.00 (ships September 30). Both are the lowest prices on Darkrai specifically across the current merchant landscape.

Mega Dragonite ex

Dragonite is the final form of the Dratini line, the Generation I Dragon-type that appeared in the original Red and Blue (1996). Unlike Darkrai, Dragonite does not have a core-series Mega Evolution. The Mega Forces TCG series introduced a card-exclusive Mega Dragonite design, placing it alongside other TCG-specific Mega forms created for the ME series.

Dragonite carries the highest tin price of the three. Lazarus Games lists it at $46.95 and Boxed Vinyl at $49.95. The wider spread in Dragonite pricing compared to Darkrai reflects lower supply from competing merchants at launch. If you're building an individual-buyer path to all three tins, the Dragonite is the cost anchor.

Mega Zeraora ex

Zeraora is the Electric-type Mythical from Generation VII, introduced in Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon (2018). Like Darkrai, it's Mythical-tier, which is a distinct classification from Legendary. Zeraora's card-exclusive Mega form continues the ME series pattern of creating Mega designs for Pokémon that predate Mega Evolution's in-game discontinuation after Generation VI.

KanZenGames lists Mega Zeraora ex at $29.45, matching the Darkrai price. GamesLand Canada lists it at $47.87. The gap is notable: the cheapest Zeraora listing is $18 less than the most expensive one on the market right now.

The Bundle Math: Three Paths to All Three Tins

There are three distinct purchasing strategies for collectors who want all three Mega Forces tins, each with a different cost and a different trade-off.

Path 1: Flipside Gaming Set of 3 ($134.99, single merchant). One checkout, all three tins. The per-tin equivalent is $44.99. This is not the lowest price in the market, but it is the most convenient confirmed-availability bundle from a single storefront at launch. Post-launch stock is harder to predict than a pre-order window, and a single-merchant bundle removes the risk of one variant selling out between two separate orders.

Path 2: Mix individual sellers ($105.85 minimum for all three). KanZenGames Darkrai ($29.45) plus KanZenGames Zeraora ($29.45) plus Lazarus Games Dragonite ($46.95) totals $105.85. That's $29.14 less than Flipside. The catch: both KanZenGames listings carry a "pre-order" label despite Mega Forces having launched August 28. That label likely indicates a delayed fulfillment window, not day-of shipping. Buyers should check current stock status directly.

Path 3: Card Dynasty Bundle of 3 ($103.00, ships September 30). This is the cheapest confirmed all-3 option from a single merchant at $32 less than Flipside. The cost is a 24-day wait from today. Card Dynasty prices the individual Darkrai at $31.00 and Zeraora at $35.00 separately, and the bundle at $103 implies Dragonite is around $37 in their pricing. That's the most balanced per-tin pricing of any bundle option.

If You Only Want One or Two Tins

The bundle question dissolves immediately if you're targeting one or two specific Pokémon. Collectors who want only Mega Darkrai ex or only Mega Zeraora ex have a clear path: KanZenGames at $29.45 each is well below the per-tin equivalent of any bundle.

Dragonite-only collectors pay more regardless of route. The cheapest confirmed Dragonite listing is $46.95 from Lazarus Games, with the market sitting mostly in the $44-49 range. There's no Dragonite-specific listing approaching the $29-31 price point that exists for Darkrai and Zeraora.

The Dragonite pricing gap matters more for promo collectors than players. In a competitive context, the choice is driven by which Mega ex card fits a build, not which costs less. In a collector context, where the goal is three distinct promos, Dragonite being the price anchor is unavoidable.

The Verdict

The Flipside Gaming Set of 3 at $134.99 is the right choice if you want all three tins from a single post-launch checkout with no split shipping or sourcing risk. You pay roughly a $29-32 premium over the cheapest alternatives for that convenience.

The cheapest individual path to all three tins is $105.85 across two merchants: KanZenGames for Darkrai and Zeraora, Lazarus Games for Dragonite. Check the KanZenGames listings carefully for current shipping timelines given the pre-order status flags.

The cheapest single-merchant option for all three is Card Dynasty's Bundle of 3 at $103, shipping September 30. If a three-week wait is acceptable, that's $32 off Flipside with the same single-checkout convenience.
