The Pokémon Company deliberately omitted a standard booster box from the product lineup, the same approach used for Hidden Fates back in 2019. The Booster Bundle, a 10-pack sealed unit, is the closest equivalent. That decision shapes every buying calculation for this set.

What the Set Actually Contains
Paldean Fates features shiny versions of Scarlet and Violet Pokémon across multiple rarity tiers. The set uses Shiny Rare and Shiny Ultra Rare designations, as detailed in the Serebii set listing.
The shiny ex cards are the primary pull targets. Shiny Charizard ex, shiny Meowscarada ex, shiny Skeledirge ex, and shiny Quaquaval ex anchor the high-value tier. The Special Illustration Rare versions of these cards carry full alternate art and are considerably harder to pull than standard shiny ex cards.
Unlike main-series SV sets, Paldean Fates does not feature new gameplay mechanics or new card types. The set is designed specifically for collectors who want shiny art in sealed-product form. The Formats: What Was Sold and What They Cost Now
Booster Bundle (10 packs)
The Booster Bundle is the primary sealed unit for this set and the closest thing to a booster box. Ten packs at retail. If you are thinking in terms of cost-per-pack, that puts individual packs at around $17 from a Bundle, compared to $25–$35 per single pack bought separately.
Sealed Bundle displays (six Bundles per display, 60 packs total) do exist as a higher-tier unit. One seller currently lists a Sealed Display at $1,799.99 USD, which works out to roughly $30 per pack sealed. Whether that makes sense depends on whether you need a box-equivalent unit for your collection display or storage.
Elite Trainer Box
The ETB is the most talked-about format in this set, largely because of its price. At $708.00 USD for a sealed Paldean Fates ETB, you are paying a significant secondary-market premium over retail. The original retail price was around $49.99 USD. That gap reflects the set's collector demand, the limited product supply compared to main-series sets, and the roughly two-year window since release.
The ETB contains 9 booster packs, a promo card, sleeves, dice, and accessories. For someone focused purely on pack pulls, the Booster Bundle delivers more packs at lower cost. The ETB premium is mostly for the collector who wants the box itself as a display piece.
Premium Collections
Three Premium Collections were released: Meowscarada ex, Skeledirge ex, and Quaquaval ex. Each includes 11 booster packs and a Shiny ex promo card featuring that Pokémon's shiny form. Current secondary pricing runs around $237 per collection.
If you want guaranteed access to one specific shiny starter ex card, a Premium Collection is the cleanest route. The promo card is unique to each collection and not available in standard booster packs.
Tins, Mini Tins, and Single Packs
Three tins were released featuring Charizard ex, Great Tusk ex, and Iron Treads ex. Each contains three booster packs and a holographic promo. The Charizard ex tin commands the highest secondary premium, currently around $195 USD.
Mini Tins are a lower-entry point, each containing two booster packs and a mini print card. Individual Flamigo Mini Tins are available around CA$70, while a sealed Set of 5 costs around CA$370. The mini format appeals to collectors who want a complete display set or a gift-sized entry point.
Single booster packs are available from independent sellers in the $25–$35 USD range. That is a notable premium over what a pack costs when bought inside a Bundle, but it lets you buy one or two packs without committing to a full Bundle price.
Which Format to Buy in 2026
The Booster Bundle is the right call for most buyers. You get 10 packs at a per-pack cost that beats single packs, and the format was designed as the set's primary sealed unit. If you want the best value on pack volume, start here.
Premium Collections make sense if you are chasing one specific starter's shiny promo and want the corresponding 11 packs. The Meowscarada, Skeledirge, and Quaquaval promos are exclusive to their respective collections. You will not find those specific promo cards in any booster pack.
