Pokémon 151 Binder Collection (2023): Contents and MSRP

The Pokémon 151 Binder Collection contains 4 booster packs from the Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet 151 expansion and one 20-page nine-pocket binder. It launched on September 22, 2023, alongside the rest of the 151 product line, at an MSRP of $49.99 USD.

There is no foil promo card in the Binder Collection. The exclusive promo in the 151 lineup is the full-art Mew ex, which is limited to the Elite Trainer Box. The Binder Collection's premium over the Booster Bundle is entirely the binder itself.

At $49.99 for 4 packs, the per-pack cost is $12.50, the highest of any sealed 151 format. That number only makes sense if the binder has standalone value, which it does: a licensed nine-pocket binder for this set does not exist outside this product.

Each booster pack draws from the full 151 card pool: 165 cards in the main set plus 42 secret rares numbered above 165/165. The set contains Charizard ex (026/165 Double Rare), Mew ex (205/165 Special Illustration Rare), and a full Kanto Pokédex spread from Bulbasaur through Mew at number 151.

MSRP and Price Per Pack

The Binder Collection launched at $49.99 USD per the official Pokémon product gallery. At 4 packs for $49.99, the per-pack rate is $12.50.

Compared to every other 151 format, the Binder Collection has the worst per-pack rate by a wide margin. Buying it as a pack-opening product is not the value play. It only makes financial sense when you specifically want a licensed Kanto-themed binder for your collection, because there is no other way to get one for this set.

Secondary market prices in October 2026 run from around $200 to $346 USD for sealed copies, reflecting how well the 151 set has held its value since release.

The Binder: Capacity and What It Can Hold

The binder has 20 pages, each with nine card pockets on both sides. That gives a total of 360 card slots: 20 pages x 9 pockets x 2 sides = 360.

The pockets fit standard-sized Scarlet & Violet cards with inner penny sleeves (single-sleeved). Double-sleeved cards, where a card sits in a penny sleeve inside a full outer sleeve, fit in one orientation per pocket rather than two, which means the practical double-sleeved capacity is 180 cards.

How this maps to the 151 set

The main-set 151 has 165 cards. A single-sleeved master set, one copy of each numbered card from 001/165 through 165/165, fills 165 of the 360 slots, leaving almost half the binder empty. A set collector who pulls two or three copies of the commons and uncommons will fill the binder naturally as they work through their sets.

The 42 secret rares, numbered 166/165 through 207/165, bring the full set to 207 cards. A complete one-of-each master set fills 207 of the 360 available slots. The binder holds the entire master set with 153 extra slots to spare, sized to hold the 151 Pokédex plus room for extras and duplicates.

For players building a competitive deck from 151 cards, the binder also doubles as a bulk-organizer for common trainers and basic energy that come out of the four packs.

The Binder Collection shipped with the main set on September 22, 2023, not as a follow-up wave. That timing matters because it means every 151 product except the UPC was available simultaneously at launch, with no period where only some formats could be bought.

Who It's For, and Who Should Skip It

The 151 Binder Collection is the right buy for exactly one type of collector: someone building a binder-organized Kanto set who wants an officially licensed storage solution for the expansion.

It is the only officially licensed binder for the 151 set. No other product in the 151 lineup ships a binder.

Third-party nine-pocket binders exist at lower prices, but none carry official 151 artwork on the cover, and none are produced under a Pokémon Company license. If an official binder matters to you, this is the only option for this set.

Skip it for pack count

Four packs at $49.99 is a poor deal by any pack-opening measure. The Booster Bundle delivers 6 packs for $19.99, which is $30 less than the Binder Collection for two more packs.

Any buyer who wants the 151 set purely for pulls should start with the Booster Bundle. Read the full 151 Booster Bundle breakdown for per-pack math and what comes out of those six packs.

Skip it for accessories

The Elite Trainer Box includes 9 packs, 45 sleeves, damage dice, a deck box, a coin, and an exclusive full-art Mew ex promo at the same $49.99 MSRP. For buyers who want packs plus gear, the ETB delivers better value on every line item. See the 151 ETB contents breakdown for the full list.

The Q4 gift angle

The sealed box packaging for the Binder Collection is gift-ready and different from the ETB: it is thinner and lighter, closer to a book in footprint. For a Pokémon fan who already has 151 cards sitting loose, this gives them a home for those cards at a gift price point.

For an unboxing-focused recipient, the ETB or Booster Bundle are better options. For more ideas across formats and budgets, see the Pokémon TCG binders guide.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does the 151 Binder Collection include a promo card?

No. There is no foil promo card in the Binder Collection. The exclusive promos in the 151 lineup are the full-art Mew ex (ETB-only) and the etched metal Mew ex (Ultra-Premium Collection only).

How many cards does the 151 Binder Collection binder hold?

The binder has 20 nine-pocket pages readable from both sides, giving a total of 360 card slots. At double-sleeved thickness, the practical capacity is 180 cards.

Is the 151 Binder Collection a good deal compared to the ETB?

Not for pack count. Both are $49.99 at MSRP, but the ETB gives 9 packs, a promo card, and accessories, while the Binder Collection gives 4 packs and a binder. The Binder Collection is worth it specifically for collectors who want the licensed binder for their 151 card storage.

What set code is the Pokémon 151 Binder Collection?

The packs inside use set code SV3.5 (Scarlet & Violet 151), the same as every other 151 sealed product including the ETB and Booster Bundle.

When did the Pokémon 151 Binder Collection release?

September 22, 2023, simultaneously with the full 151 set and the ETB and Booster Bundle. The UPC was the only 151 format to release later, on October 6, 2023.
