Heracross Collector's Guide 2026: Neo Genesis Holo, the XY Pricing Inversion, and the $107 Japanese ex

Heracross runs from $0.25 to $107 in the current market, and the path between those two numbers tells a story about every era of the TCG.

It is Pokémon #214, a Bug/Fighting type from the Johto region that appeared in Gold and Silver. Its first English TCG appearance came in Neo Genesis (2000), and it has been printed in every mechanical era since.

Today it has no V, VMAX, VSTAR, or ex card in any English Scarlet and Violet set. Its highest-value English card is the SV-era Paldea Evolved Illustration Rare, and that structural absence shapes the entire price ladder below it.

This guide covers every tier from the modern commons to the 1st Edition graded ceiling, and one unusual pricing quirk in the XY era that catches most buyers off guard.

Neo Genesis: The Founding Print

The card most Johto collectors are looking for is Heracross 6/111 from Neo Genesis.

Raw copies of the Unlimited print trade between $35 and $45. A first-edition copy graded PSA 8 lists at $260 from Collector Store.

Position 6/111 placed Heracross near the front of the set alphabetically, alongside Clefairy, Feraligatr, and the other early-alphabet Holos. That proximity to set heavyweights has never significantly inflated the price, which is why $35 raw Unlimited is still an accessible entry for a card that is 25+ years old.

If you want vintage but not at Neo Genesis prices, Skyridge 64/144 from the e-Card era (2003) lists at $14. Skyridge is consistently underpriced for its age because the e-Card reader mechanic that defined the set is no longer playable, leaving the cards in a collector limbo that has kept prices low while supply has not grown.

XY Furious Fists and the Pricing Inversion

XY Furious Fists (2014) is the set that gave Heracross its Mega Evolution debut in English.

This set contains three distinct Heracross cards: the Holo Rare at 4/111, the Heracross EX Full Art at 105/111, and the Mega Heracross EX Secret Rare at 112/111. The pricing between them inverts what most collectors expect.

The Full Art Heracross EX currently lists at $25. The standard Holo Rare lists at $49. The Holo costs nearly twice as much as the Full Art EX from the same set, which is the opposite of how EX-era pricing usually works.

$25.38 USD

The reason is supply. Full Art EX cards were produced in large quantities during the XY era, while the Holo Rare at card 4 benefits from completionist demand among set collectors who want the numbered rares in sequence. The Secret Rare Mega Heracross EX 112/111 sits at $81, which is above both of them, consistent with Secret Rare scarcity across XY era sets.

For buyers who want Mega Heracross EX at a lower price, Phantasmal Flames (ME02) is the alternative.

ME02 Phantasmal Flames was a Japanese-exclusive Mega Evolution set released in 2015, headlined by Mega Heracross EX alongside Mega Latias and Mega Latios.

The Mega Heracross EX card from that set (004/094) lists at $2.99 to $4.00 raw today, making it one of the cheapest Mega EX headliner cards in the entire Mega Evolution series. The Mega Heracross EX booster pack with Heracross art is available at $24.99 from BlueProton, giving collectors an affordable way to experience the set.

If you want Mega Heracross EX for a display or binder without spending on the Furious Fists Secret Rare, the ME02 version is the entry point. The card pool differs from the English equivalent but the artwork is the same Mega design.

Modern Era: Paldea Evolved IR and the Japanese ex Ceiling

In the Scarlet and Violet era, Heracross' most valuable English card is the Illustration Rare 194/193 from Paldea Evolved.

At $43, the Paldea Evolved IR is the only dedicated above-set alt-art Heracross in any English Scarlet and Violet set. Heracross received a Holofoil in Clay Burst (the Japanese set that maps to Paldea Evolved) numbered 072/071, available raw at $6.75, but the English IR commands a premium because it's the only English-language option in that art tier for the character.

Below the IR, the Scarlet and Violet base set Heracross 002/198 lists at $0.25 from Card Cavern, making it the cheapest Heracross single currently in the market and a usable entry for collectors who want a modern copy without commitment.

$107.99 USD

The current price ceiling for Heracross in English storefronts is set by Japanese imports. A Heracross ex 097/096 from a Japanese SV-era set lists at $107.99 from Nippon Trove.

There is no English Heracross ex in any Scarlet and Violet main-series set. Japanese cards are the only route to a modern ex-rarity Heracross, and the language premium reflects that scarcity in import pricing.

Plush Tier

Heracross Pokemon Fit Plush · $30.00 USD

Heracross has three active plush options at distinct price points.

The Pokémon fit version lists at $30 from Poke Merch Market. The Sitting Cuties version runs $60 at ToyCartUSA.

A Takara Tomy Arts "Kimi Ni Kimeta" 28cm plush is available at $62.29 from Japan Figure Store. It is the largest of the three formats and a Japanese-market release not stocked in most Western retail chains. All three are currently in stock across independent sellers.

For collectors who prefer not to spend on singles, the Fit plush at $30 makes a clean low-commitment entry to the character. The Sitting Cuties and the Takara Tomy differ in pose and scale, so both have a place in a Heracross-focused shelf display.

Summary: Where Each Tier Sits

The full Heracross price ladder from cheapest to most expensive currently available:

  • Twilight Masquerade Heracross 008/167: $0.15
  • Scarlet and Violet base 002/198: $0.25
  • Mega Heracross EX 004/094 ME02 Phantasmal Flames raw: $2.99 to $4.00
  • Clay Burst (Japanese SV2D) Holofoil 072/071: $6.75
  • EX Hidden Legends Heracross Holo: $10.00
  • Skyridge 64/144: $14.00
  • Heracross EX Full Art 105/111 Furious Fists: $25
  • Pokemon Fit Plush: $30.00
  • Neo Genesis Holo 6/111 Unlimited raw: $35 to $45
  • Paldea Evolved Illustration Rare 194/193: $43.00
  • XY Furious Fists Holo Rare 4/111: $49
  • Sitting Cuties Plush: $60.34
  • Mega Heracross EX Secret Rare 112/111 Furious Fists: $81.00
  • Japanese Heracross ex 097/096 SV era: $107.99
  • 1st Edition Neo Genesis Holo PSA 8: $260.00

The most notable gap in the ladder is between $81 (Furious Fists Secret Rare) and $107 (Japanese ex). There is nothing in English between those two points, which means any buyer who wants a Heracross single above $81 is necessarily looking at Japanese imports or graded stock.
