Journey Together Enhanced vs Non-Enhanced Booster Box: What the Box Topper Costs
By Dexhaul Team · October 2, 2026
Two booster boxes, same 36 packs, a $50-plus price gap.
The Journey Together Enhanced and Non-Enhanced Booster Boxes contain identical quantities of Scarlet & Violet SV9 booster packs. The Enhanced version adds one thing the Non-Enhanced does not: a Box Topper pack that is exclusive to this format and unavailable anywhere else. That single difference creates the entire price spread between the two versions on the market right now.
Here is the per-pack math and how to decide which box makes sense for your situation.
What Is Actually in Each Box
Both versions contain 36 booster packs from the Journey Together set, which launched March 28, 2025, with 196 cards total (159 standard-numbered cards plus secret rares above the set ceiling). Cards numbered 160 and above are Illustration Rares and Special Art Rares, the pull targets for most buyers opening the set.
The Non-Enhanced version stops there: 36 packs, nothing extra.
The Enhanced version includes a Box Topper pack alongside the same 36 packs. Sellers across the catalogue explicitly label Non-Enhanced stock as "No Box Topper" or "NO BOX TOPPER" to make the distinction unambiguous, since the products look nearly identical in photos. The Box Topper is not available for individual purchase through any official retail channel.
If your goal is booster packs from the Journey Together set and nothing else, both versions deliver the same 36-pack opening experience. The Box Topper is the only variable.
The Per-Pack Math
Current floor prices across independent sellers on DexHaul as of October 2, 2026:
- Non-Enhanced floor: $199.99 (Smoke and Mirrors Hobby; The Colosseum). Per pack: $5.56.
- Non-Enhanced mid: $216.00 (New Realm Games), $225.00 (Hobbiesville), $230.00 (Danireon Cards). Per pack: $6.00 to $6.39.
- Enhanced floor: $251.00 (The Side Deck). Per pack (excluding Topper): $6.97.
- Enhanced MHDEALSPLUS: $279.95. Per pack (excluding Topper): $7.78.
- Enhanced ceiling: $330.00 to $388.99 (Ember Vault UK; Platinum Packs). Per pack: $9.17 to $10.80.
The Non-Enhanced floor at $5.56 per pack is $1.41 cheaper per pack than the Enhanced floor at $6.97. Over 36 packs, that gap is $50.76.
That $50.76 is the effective market price of the Box Topper at the cheapest available Enhanced listing. Since the Box Topper cannot be purchased separately at any price, the floor Enhanced price is the only way to acquire it.
Buyers at the Enhanced ceiling ($388.99 from Platinum Packs) are paying $137 more than the Non-Enhanced floor for the same 36 packs plus a Box Topper. There is no rationale for that premium versus the $251 listing unless shipping costs or regional availability justify it for a specific buyer.
The Sealed Case: No Meaningful Discount
MHDEALSPLUS offers a Journey Together Enhanced Booster Box Sealed Case at $1,669.95. Six boxes per case.
$1,669.95 divided by six is $278.33 per box.
MHDEALSPLUS sells individual Enhanced Booster Boxes at $279.95. The sealed case saves $1.62 per box, or $9.72 across the full case.
That is not a bulk discount in any meaningful sense. The case format is a convenience buy, not a price break.
A sealed case has a legitimate use case: storage and resale as a factory-fresh unit. For pure price per pack, buy individual boxes and compare sellers.
The Half Box: Counter-Intuitive Math
Limited Sneakers offers an 18-pack "Half Booster Box" at $202.00. It sounds cheaper than a full box, and the total cost is lower.
The per-pack cost is not. $202.00 divided by 18 is $11.22 per pack, compared to $5.56 per pack for a full Non-Enhanced box at floor. The half-box format costs double per pack.
The half box makes sense only if your budget caps at $200 and you want a specific number of packs. For value, a full Non-Enhanced box from Smoke and Mirrors Hobby at $199.99 opens twice as many packs for the same dollar amount.
Premium Sellers and What Justifies Higher Prices
Enhanced listings above $300 typically involve currency conversion, shipping zones, or seller margin. Evo Cards at $350 notes "0% VAT GVMS" in the title, which is a UK tax designation for the Gross Margin VAT Scheme used by sellers of secondhand goods. That is not additional content; it is a tax handling label.
No Enhanced listing from any seller includes anything beyond the 36 packs and Box Topper. Regional buyers who cannot access US floor pricing have limited options, but anyone ordering internationally should factor shipping costs into the comparison before choosing a premium-listed seller over the $251 floor.
Which Version Makes Sense for You
Choose Non-Enhanced if you want Journey Together booster packs at the lowest per-pack cost. The $199.99 floor gives you 36 packs at $5.56 each, which is the cheapest per-pack entry into the SV9 set currently available across any format on the market.
Choose Enhanced if the Box Topper matters to you. At $251 from The Side Deck or $279.95 from MHDEALSPLUS, you are paying $51 to $80 for a pack that cannot be acquired any other way. If the Topper is your priority, the Enhanced version is your only path.
Skip the Sealed Case unless you specifically want factory-sealed packaging. The $9.72 case discount across six boxes at MHDEALSPLUS is functionally the same price as buying individual Enhanced boxes from the same seller.
