Pokémon TCG Cosmic Eclipse: ADP, TAG TEAM GX, and What These 2019 Singles Cost in 2026
By Dexhaul Team · September 17, 2026
Cosmic Eclipse ended the Sun & Moon era with the most overpowered card Pokémon TCG had ever seen. Released November 1, 2019, it was the last main-series Sun & Moon set before Sword & Shield launched in February 2020, and its centerpiece, Arceus & Dialga & Palkia GX, went on to define competitive Standard for nearly two full years.
If you're hunting SM12 singles in 2026, prices vary from $24 for a raw standard holo to over $500 for the alternate full art variant. Here's the complete breakdown of what to collect and what to pay.
What Made Cosmic Eclipse Different
Cosmic Eclipse was the first English set to feature three-Pokémon TAG TEAM GX cards. Every other TAG TEAM GX card in the game, from Pikachu & Zekrom in Team Up to Mewtwo & Mew in Unified Minds, paired exactly two Pokémon. ADP broke that pattern by combining Arceus, Dialga, and Palkia onto a single card with 280 HP, the highest printed HP total in the TAG TEAM era.
The English set also combined cards from two Japanese source sets. Bulbapedia's Cosmic Eclipse entry confirms SM12 drew from Alter Genesis (SM12 in Japanese) and Dream League (SM11a), which is why Lillie's Full Force (230/236) appears in the English set at all: it was originally a Japan-only Dream League subset card that English collectors only got through CE.
That source-set structure matters for collectors. Several of CE's most expensive non-ADP cards exist in the English set precisely because the Japanese equivalents were limited-distribution subsets that never got a standalone English release.
Arceus & Dialga & Palkia GX: Three Variants, One Price Ladder
ADP GX is the card that defines Cosmic Eclipse. Its GX attack, Altered Creation GX, added one extra Prize card to every KO your Pokémon scored for the rest of the game while boosting all your attacks' damage. Paired with Zacian V in Sword & Shield Standard, it was so dominant that ADP Zacian remained a top-tier deck through the 2020–2021 rotation cycle without ever being banned.
There are three distinct English Cosmic Eclipse ADP GX variants at different price points:
- Standard holo (156/236): $24–32 raw, currently the most accessible entry to the card
- Full Art (220/236): $61–80 raw, the original art treatment with cosmos-foil background
- Secret/Alt variants (258/236): $100–$537 depending on condition and specific art
The spread between the standard holo and the alternate full art exceeds 20x despite zero difference in gameplay text. Every competitive player who built ADP Zacian used the standard holo. The price gap is driven entirely by art treatment and collector demand, not mechanical uniqueness.
The Other TAG TEAM GX Cards Worth Knowing
Cosmic Eclipse contained more TAG TEAM GX pairs than any other single English set. Most are priced in the $22–$60 range raw for standard holos, but two stand out for collectors.
Charizard & Braixen GX
The standard holo (22/236) runs $44 raw. The Full Art (212/236) sits at $88–110, with the highest-numbered secret variant reaching $145 at current ask. Charizard demand reliably separates this pair from comparably rare TAG TEAM sets: the same Full Art treatment on a non-Charizard card would price $30–50 lower.
Reshiram & Zekrom GX
This pair draws collectors for a different reason. The standard holo (157/236) is accessible at $20–30 raw. The Full Art (222/236) climbs to $419–500 raw at current listings, with a PSA 10 at $750 and a rare CGC copy reaching $3,750.
The gap between standard and Full Art is wider here than on almost any other CE TAG TEAM card. The driver is the "legendary dragon pair" visual appeal and a relatively thin NM population of the Full Art compared to higher-print-run recent sets.
Lillie's Full Force: The Trainer Card That Collectors Keep Chasing
Lillie's Full Force (230/236) is a Trainer card, not a Pokémon TAG TEAM. That single fact makes it structurally unusual within Cosmic Eclipse and within the SM era as a whole.
Full Art Trainer cards featuring game characters rather than Pokémon are among the scarcest collector targets in the modern TCG. Lillie's Full Force reached CE's English print as a carry-over from the Japanese Dream League subset, a smaller release that was never sold separately in English. Collectors who want it must go through Cosmic Eclipse packs or the singles market.
Raw NM copies price at $160–220 from independent shops in 2026. A PSA 10 from the Over the Brick listing currently shows $490. That raw-to-PSA-10 premium of roughly 2–3x is lower than it was in 2020–2022, when CE packs were still being opened and the PSA 10 population was thinner.
Today there's more supply, but $160 raw for a Trainer Full Art from a 2019 set still reflects the structural scarcity of the format.
Sealed Product: What a Cosmic Eclipse Pack Costs in 2026
A single sealed booster pack of Cosmic Eclipse trades at $74–$135 USD from independent shops in September 2026. That's a wide range: the lower end reflects opened-box fresh copies from shops that acquired sealed product years ago; the higher end reflects sleeved blisters and verified NM seals from specialist vintage dealers.
Sealed booster boxes, when they appear, list at $2,091–$5,000 USD, with significant seller spread on identical product. At $74 per pack and 36 packs per box, the math implies a theoretical box value of roughly $2,664 at the pack floor, which is why boxes are priced where they are.
For collectors who want CE cards without the sealed-product premium, the singles market is straightforward. The standard holos for most TAG TEAM GX pairs land under $60 raw. The exception is Reshiram & Zekrom GX and the ADP GX upper variants, where condition premium and collector demand push prices past what sealed packs can justify on expected-value grounds.
