The Tinkaton Collector's Buying Guide 2026: Battle Deck, TCG Singles, Plush, and More
By Dexhaul Team · September 23, 2026
Tinkaton has the best lore setup of any Generation 9 Pokémon.
It is a Fairy/Steel type that builds its hammer from steel scraps discarded around Paldea, the weapon growing heavier with each piece of material added until it exceeds 100 kg. The payoff is a rivalry written directly into the Pokédex: according to Bulbapedia, Tinkaton's Scarlet entry reads "It has evolved a technique of flinging its massive hammer to shoot down the flying Corviknight. Anything that falls to the ground becomes raw material for the hammer."
Steel type versus Steel type. Tinkaton wins by using physics instead of type advantage.
That personality shows up in the collector range in a way that few Generation 9 Pokémon match. Four distinct TCG art treatments across English and Japanese sets, a 60-card ready-to-play Battle Deck, two official plush at different price points, a Moncolle figure, and dedicated accessories are all available from independent shops right now. This guide covers all of them by product type.
Start With the Battle Deck
The Tinkaton ex Battle Deck is the most practical first purchase for most collectors.
It is a complete 60-card deck built around Tinkaton ex as the primary attacker, with a full supporting lineup included. The deck requires no modifications to play and is Standard-legal as of September 2026. Hobbiesville carries it at $25 USD; Total Cards at £11.63 GBP.
Starting with the Battle Deck instead of the raw single makes financial sense. A raw Tinkaton ex 240/193 Ultra Rare from Paldea Evolved runs CA$13.99 separately at Face to Face Games, which means the deck gives you the card in a ready-to-play context for a comparable cost while also including 59 additional cards. If the gameplay side does not interest you, the Battle Deck is still a lower-risk way to test whether Tinkaton is worth expanding into before committing to display singles: the deck's box art alone is a decent entry-level display piece on its own terms.
TCG Singles: Three English Art Treatments
Paldea Evolved (SV02), released in April 2023, introduced Tinkaton ex into the English TCG with two distinct art tiers in the same set. A third came in Paldean Fates the following year. Getting all three in English is one of the more satisfying single-set completion goals in the Scarlet and Violet era, because the art shifts substantially between each tier.
The 240/193 Ultra Rare is the base version: standard Pokémon ex gold border with the clean playable-art illustration. Face to Face Games has it at CA$13.99. The Shiny Rare 167/091 from Paldean Fates (Games Realm, $22.69 USD) steps up the visual treatment with the alternate grey-and-silver coloration and the silver-shimmer sparkle finish unique to that 2024 set.
The Special Illustration Rare 262/193, also from Paldea Evolved, sits at $55 USD from Card Collector Club: a full borderless illustrated scene on white card stock with Tinkaton mid-swing on a mountain ridge, Corviknight feathers falling beneath the hammer.
The SIR stands out for display collectors precisely because it illustrates the Corviknight rivalry explicitly. The Shiny Rare and Ultra Rare use character-focused poses; the SIR puts Tinkaton in action against its lore enemy. At $55 it is the most expensive of the three English treatments, but the gap between the Shiny Rare at $22.69 and the SIR at $55 is not so wide that collecting both is impractical.
The Japanese SAR: Clay Burst SV2D
The fourth art treatment is a Japanese import.
Clay Burst (SV2D) released in Japan in May 2023 as part of the Japanese Scarlet and Violet series, with a different card pool than the English Paldea Evolved. The Special Art Rare 093/071 uses full-art illustration work that did not appear in the English localization, meaning the only way to own this version is through a Japanese import source.
PokeNinJapan lists it at $36 USD, placing it directly between the English Shiny Rare at $22.69 and the English SIR at $55. The Japanese SAR format uses a slightly taller illustration panel and different cropping than the English SIR layout. If you are aiming for the complete four-treatment set across both markets, the Clay Burst SAR is the hardest to source domestically and the natural last piece to track down.
Figures and Desk Merch
The three-dimensional Tinkaton range is compact but covers the essentials.
The Moncolle MS-11 figure from Takara Tomy is the lowest-cost entry, currently $10 USD at Yeti Gaming. Takara Tomy's Moncolle line is an officially licensed figure series produced for shelf display, with consistent scaling across the range.
The MS-11 renders the hammer-to-body ratio accurately: the hammer is deliberately oversized relative to the character's body in the official design, and this figure does not minimize it. For a $10 display piece, that specific accuracy is worth noting.
Plush: Two Price Points, Two Different Poses
Two official plush are currently in stock, and they serve different purposes.
The All Star Collection PP254 from San-ei (S Size, approximately 30 cm) is the standard poseable character plush from the licensed All Star Collection line. Ninoma carries it at ¥9,425 JPY. The All Star Collection format is straightforward: a faithful character representation in a standing pose, suitable for shelf display alongside other Pokémon from the same line.
The Pokémon Center Sleeping Plush is a different product entirely. At $104.99 USD from Sweets and Geeks, it is a Pokémon Center Japan exclusive showing Tinkaton in a resting pose, curled around its hammer as if asleep.
The sleeping-pose format reads as decorative sculpture rather than a character-in-stance display: it sits differently on a shelf than the All Star Collection's standing pose. If you already own or plan to own the All Star Collection version, the Sleeping Plush adds a different visual register rather than doubling the same display function.
Accessories: Pro-Binder Storage
Ultra PRO's Tinkaton 9-Pocket PRO-BINDER is the only dedicated Tinkaton storage accessory currently in stock.
At $29.99 USD from Ultra PRO, the 9-pocket format holds up to 360 sleeved cards. The capacity covers the full cross-format Tinkaton card set: the Ultra Rare, Shiny Rare, and SIR in English, the Japanese SAR, the Battle Deck promotional card, and the prerelease promo (SVP-020, currently CA$5.99 at Face to Face Games), with room for additional set appearances as more Scarlet and Violet expansions release. The binder cover uses the official Ultra PRO license, not a screen-captured scan.
