Espeon in 2026: The Sep 16 Battle Deck, the $420 UPC, and Five Plush Lines Compared

September 16 is twenty-two days out, and Espeon is at the center of it.
The Pokémon TCG's 30th Celebration launches that date, and for the first time in the modern Scarlet & Violet era, Espeon receives a dedicated paired product alongside Umbreon. Two releases share the launch: the Espeon ex / Umbreon ex Battle Deck at $37 USD and the 30th Celebration Premium Deck Set, a Japanese-exclusive product currently listed by import sellers at $419.99 to $558.22 USD.
They are not interchangeable. Understanding what each contains, and what already exists on the secondary market before September 16 arrives, is the point of this article.

The Two 30th Celebration Pre-Orders
The English-language entry is the Espeon ex / Umbreon ex Battle Deck, a ready-to-play 60-card deck focused on the new Espeon ex card. At $37.00 USD from Canadian seller MyPops.ca, it is the lowest-cost way to secure an Espeon ex before the September 16 window closes.
The Battle Deck is English. The 30th Celebration Premium Deck Set is Japanese-exclusive and ships from import specialists. That distinction matters for graders and language-preference collectors: the Japanese Premium Deck Set will not share card numbers or language with the English Battle Deck, even though both are built around Espeon ex and Umbreon ex.
Import pricing for the Premium Deck Set currently runs $419.99 USD at Many Realms and $558.22 USD at Omotenashi TCG (the difference reflects seller margin and import handling). Both have September 16 listed as the expected ship date.
The $37 Battle Deck and the $420-plus Premium Deck Set serve different collectors. The Battle Deck is the accessible preorder; the Premium Deck Set is the collector-tier JP import. Neither is a variant of the other.
The Espeon ex Promo: Available Now
Before September 16, one Espeon ex card is already available on the secondary market.
Espeon ex (SVP175) is a Scarlet & Violet Black Star Promo holofoil. It is a single card, not part of any sealed product releasing September 16.
Sellers list it at $24.00 to $36.50 USD depending on seller and grade. This is the only Espeon ex available as a standalone card purchase right now.
If the goal is acquiring the ex card without buying a Battle Deck or waiting on September 16 shipping, SVP175 is the current path. It predates the 30th Celebration release and will have its own distinct card number regardless of what the Battle Deck contains.
Five Plush Lines, from $25 to $52
Espeon is a Gen II Psychic-type with a strong plush presence across five distinct product lines. The price differences between them reflect size, manufacturer, and stuffing style rather than quality rank.
The Pokémon Fit plush ($24.99) runs roughly 5 inches seated. It is the compact format: proportions lean chibi, fill is firm, and the size fits easily into any display without dominating shelf space. For collectors building an Eeveelution line, this format gives consistent scale across all eight evolutions.
The Banpresto 37cm format ($30.00) is the budget-accessible large option. At roughly 14.5 inches, it uses a fixed seated pose common across Banpresto's Pokémon releases. The fill is softer than the Fit line, and the size reads as a statement piece rather than a shelf filler.
The 30th Anniversary Pastel Espeon ($25.99) is a themed 8-inch variant that ties back to the same anniversary the TCG is celebrating in September. It is not an official 30th Celebration TCG product but shares the anniversary branding window.
At the $47 tier, the Espeon 36cm plush offers size comparable to the Banpresto with a modest premium. The Sanei All Star Collection 7" ($44.99) runs slightly smaller but uses a firmer fill and more precise stitching for the ear gems and tail fork, which matter for Espeon's distinctive design. Both are available now from independent sellers.
The Espeon Sitting Cuties plush (16.5 cm, $36.00) represents the Pokémon Center-derived format: an upright seated shape, rounded proportions, and uniform scale that pairs with other Sitting Cuties releases. For Eeveelution display collectors, this line gives consistent presentation across the set.
One Vintage Card Worth Knowing
Espeon's competitive TCG history runs deeper than its current Scarlet & Violet era.
Espeon (2/90) from the HeartGold SoulSilver: Undaunted set (2010) is available from multiple independent sellers at around $58 USD. Undaunted predates the modern Mega Evolution and Scarlet & Violet eras by more than fifteen years and represents Espeon's most recognized non-WotC vintage card in non-graded circulation. For collectors who want a vintage piece without committing to the four-digit price ranges of NM Neo Discovery first prints, Undaunted is the practical entry to Espeon's back-catalogue.
The original Neo Discovery Espeon (1/75) from 2001, the card that first put Espeon in a competitive Pokémon TCG context, runs considerably higher and is best assessed via graded-card marketplaces rather than raw singles listings.
The Unique Angle: Why Espeon and Umbreon Are Paired
The 30th Celebration's choice to pair Espeon and Umbreon is not arbitrary.
Both Eeveelutions were introduced in Generation II, the Gold and Silver era, and both evolve based on friendship mechanics rather than elemental stones: Espeon evolves with high friendship in daylight, Umbreon at night. That day-night pairing has been a consistent design motif since 2000 and likely drove the decision to make them the 30th Celebration's featured pair rather than any single Eeveelution.
The practical consequence for collectors: neither the $37 Battle Deck nor the $420-plus Premium Deck Set is a standalone Espeon product. Both include Umbreon.
Espeon collectors who want only one side of the pair will need to rely on the SVP175 promo as a standalone card, or open sealed product and trade or sell the Umbreon half. That is not spelled out on any product page.
