Where the Delta Reign ETB wins

Built-in Energy for new deckbuilders

Delta Reign ETBs include 45 Basic Energy cards.

That matters for anyone building a first Mega Evolution deck: the Energy cards alone cost a few dollars to buy separately, and having them bundled removes one step from the setup process.

The Destined Rivals ETB does not include Energy, which is consistent with the SV-era ETB format across the whole Scarlet and Violet series.

Prerelease access

Delta Reign runs LGS prerelease events from October 24 to November 1, 2026.

Buying a prerelease kit from your local game store gives you early access to packs and a stamped promo card unique to those events. The ETB pre-order is separate from that kit, but both feed into the same collector moment: the ME06 launch window.

Destined Rivals prereleases happened in May 2025 and are long over.

Fresh-set collector timing

Buying any ETB at or near launch is typically the lowest-price window for that product.

The Delta Reign ETB pre-order floor sits at $99.99 to $109.99 (observed Oct 15, 2026). Historical ME-series ETBs (ME04 and ME05) settled at similar or lower prices post-launch, which means the pre-order window is the predictable floor for collectors who intend to open the box.

Lower per-pack rate on in-stock listings

The best current listing for the Destined Rivals ETB is $69.99 at Holo Horse Games, observed October 15, 2026.

At 9 packs, that works out to roughly $7.78 per pack, compared to $12.22 per pack on the lowest Delta Reign pre-order at $109.95.

If per-pack value drives your purchase decision, the DR ETB at $69.99 is the better deal.

Team Rocket theme with VSTAR marker

Destined Rivals is SV10, the Scarlet and Violet set built around the Team Rocket revival.

The box includes an acrylic VSTAR marker, which Mega Evolution ETBs do not include since the ME series uses different game mechanics. Competitive SV players who want a second or third VSTAR marker can use the DR ETB as a practical equipment upgrade, not just a pack source.

Available now, no waiting

Destined Rivals ETBs are in stock at multiple independent shops today.

Delta Reign does not ship until November 6, 2026. If you need a gift, want to open packs this week, or simply do not want to manage a pre-order, the DR ETB is the only option here.

The deciding question

The two boxes serve genuinely different buyers.

If you play in the Mega Evolution format, run LGS events, or want to be part of the Delta Reign prerelease window in October 2026, the ME06 ETB is the one to buy. The 45 Energy cards are a practical bonus, and the pre-order price is consistent with what ME-series ETBs have held post-launch.

If you collect Scarlet and Violet era sets, play competitive SV formats, or need something in hand before November, the Destined Rivals ETB is the better fit. At $69.99 it comes in meaningfully cheaper per pack, and Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex SIR is one of the strongest thematic chase cards in the SV10 set.

Collectors who want both eras can reasonably hold a DR ETB now and add a Delta Reign ETB when it arrives. The two boxes do not overlap in product family and they cover different set metagames.

For Q4 gifting, the Delta Reign pre-order is a strong gift for a player who follows new releases; the DR ETB is better for someone who wants a box that arrives before the holidays.

FAQ

Are the Delta Reign and Destined Rivals ETBs compatible in the same deck?

No. Delta Reign ME06 uses the Mega Evolution ruleset, while Destined Rivals SV10 uses the Scarlet and Violet ruleset.

Cards from both sets can be owned and collected together, but they play in separate formats at official events.

Does the Delta Reign ETB include a promo card?

The standard retail ETB does not include a foil promo card.

The stamped promo from this set is exclusive to prerelease Build and Battle kits available at local game stores during the Oct 24 to Nov 1, 2026 event window.

Is the Destined Rivals ETB still worth buying in 2026?

At $69.99 the DR ETB offers a competitive per-pack rate for SV10 content.

Reprint listings have brought the price closer to original retail levels, making it more accessible than it was at secondary-market peaks in late 2025. See the Destined Rivals Pokémon Center ETB guide for the premium version comparison.

How many packs are in each ETB?

Both the Delta Reign ME06 ETB and the Destined Rivals SV10 ETB include 9 booster packs.

What is the Delta Reign ETB release date?

The Delta Reign ME06 Elite Trainer Box releases November 6, 2026 for the full English launch.

Local game store prerelease events run October 24 to November 1, 2026, per Serebii and the official Pokémon TCG product page.
