Pokémon Legends Z-A: Every Confirmed Mega Evolution, Their TCG Cards, and Where Prices Stand
By Dexhaul Team · October 3, 2026
Pokémon Legends Z-A launches October 16, 2026. Thirteen days out.
The game is set in Lumiose City, the capital of Kalos, during a period of urban redevelopment. Mega Evolution is not a side system here: it is the central mechanic that shaped the entire Kalos generation.
The confirmed Megas in promotional artwork and product tie-ins are Mega Gardevoir (Diantha), Mega Lucario (Korrina), Mega Charizard X, and Mega Gyarados. Each has a different market status in the Mega Evolution TCG series and merchandise lines right now.
This guide maps each confirmed Mega to its current TCG price range and the products you can buy today. It is a before-you-play market snapshot, not a comprehensive card set guide.
Mega Gardevoir: Diantha's Ace and the 89x Price Gap in One Set
Mega Gardevoir is Diantha's signature Pokémon and the Champion's defining partner in Kalos. In Legends Z-A, she appears in official promotional product tie-ins including Scale World figures alongside her Mega Gardevoir. That association makes ME01 the most directly relevant TCG set for Gardevoir collectors right now.
ME01 contains two in-stock Mega Gardevoir ex cards at opposite ends of the price range.
The 060/132 standard Double Rare is the entry point: CA$2.00 at Draw For Turn Games in Canada, or around $0.50–$3 USD depending on the seller. It is the same character, the same Mega form, from the same set.
The 178/132 Special Illustration Rare sits at $179–$200. Its card number is above the base set ceiling of 132, which is the over-numbering system that marks every SIR and Hyper Rare in the SV era. Seeing "178/132" is the fastest way to know you are looking at a collector-tier card without reading the rarity symbol.
Both cards are in stock from independent shops today. The gap between them is 89x, driven entirely by rarity tier and artwork treatment, not by any difference in the Pokémon itself.
Mega Lucario: The Origin Story Mega, Three Ways In
Korrina is the Shalour City Gym Leader and the first NPC in any mainline Pokémon game to demonstrate Mega Evolution to the player. Her Lucario Mega Evolved at the Tower of Mastery in XY, establishing Mega Lucario as the canonical "origin moment" of the mechanic. That makes Korrina's Lucario the authentic Z-A nostalgia entry, not just a popular character who happens to be in Kalos.
Three distinct entry points exist right now.
MEP 033, the Mega Lucario ex promo, sits at $9.10–$9.23 from multiple sellers. It is a standalone foil promo card, not pulled from booster packs, distributed through specific sealed products in the Mega Evolution series.
The Mega Lucario ex Figure Collection at $57.22–$64 is the middle tier. It contains the MEP 033 promo alongside a figure and additional packs, making it the only sealed product in the current market that packages a Mega Lucario ex promo with collector extras at sub-$65.
The ME01 SIR Mega Lucario ex 179/132 at $175–$185 is the ceiling, using the same above-ceiling numbering as the Gardevoir SIR. It is the most direct benchmark reference for what the Lucario ex★ card in Aura Seeker (ME07, JP November 27) will be compared against when it lands.
Mega Charizard X: The Only Prestige Sealed Product in the Z-A Window
Mega Charizard X is confirmed via promotional Scale World product tie-ins alongside Professor Sycamore in the Legends Z-A lineup. It is the Fire/Dragon Kalos form, introduced in XY as the version paired with the Mega Ring storyline.
Of the four Z-A Megas, Mega Charizard X is the only one with a sealed collector product above the ETB tier currently in stock. The ME02 Mega Charizard X ex Ultra-Premium Collection lists at $229.99–$239.95 from independent sellers.
No other confirmed Z-A Mega has an equivalent sealed product at this price tier right now. If you want a premium sealed collector piece tied specifically to the Z-A launch window, the Mega Charizard X UPC is the only option available.
Mega Gardevoir has the ME01 ETB (at lower price points), and Mega Lucario has the Figure Collection at $57–$64. Neither reaches the $150+ sealed tier without stepping up to graded singles.
Mega Gengar: The Moonlit Tin Window
Mega Gengar is a Kalos-native Ghost/Poison type, associated with Laverre City's Gym in XY. While Gengar does not appear in the same confirmed NPC tie-in promotional art as Gardevoir, Lucario, or Charizard X, it is a core Kalos Mega type and is represented by the Mega Moonlit Tin in the current market.
The Mega Moonlit Tin Gengar EX ranges from $24.99 to $46 depending on the seller. It contains booster packs and a foil Mega Gengar ex promo card. At $24.99, it is the lowest sealed-product entry point across any of the four Megas covered here.
The Mega Gengar ex tin at the $25–$36 floor is also the only tin format in the current Mega Evolution sealed lineup, which matters for collectors who prefer tin packaging over ETB or collection box formats.
Entry Points by Budget, Across All Four Z-A Megas
The game itself lists at $41–$59.99 for the Switch version depending on the seller and region. That is the baseline purchase for anyone engaging with Z-A's Mega Evolution mechanics directly.
For TCG entry alongside the game, here is the current market map:
Under $10
Mega Gardevoir ex 060/132 standard (CA$2), MEP 033 Mega Lucario ex promo ($9.10), and M Pidgeot EX from XY Evolutions ($5.70). All three are in-stock singles with no sealed-product commitment.
$25–$65
Mega Moonlit Tin Gengar EX ($24.99–$36) and the Mega Lucario ex Figure Collection ($57.22–$64). The Figure Collection is the strongest value in this tier: it includes the promo, a figure, and packs in one purchase.
$100 and above
The Mega Gardevoir ex SIR 178/132 ($179), the Mega Lucario ex SIR 179/132 ($175–$185), and the Mega Charizard X UPC ($229.99–$239.95). The SIRs are singles; the UPC is the only sealed product in this bracket.
The Z-A launch window is one of the strongest TCG demand catalysts for Mega Evolution products since the ME01 launch. Prices across this range have been stable for several weeks and are not moving sharply in either direction right now, which means the decision is based on product preference, not urgency pressure.
