Mega Zygarde ex Premium Collection: Perfect Order's TCG-Exclusive Mega Form
By Dexhaul Team · September 14, 2026
Zygarde has never had a Mega Evolution in any Pokémon game.
ME03 Perfect Order changed that in the TCG. The set's top pull is Mega Zygarde ex 124/088, a Special Illustration Rare with no main-series counterpart, and the Mega Zygarde ex Premium Collection is the most accessible entry point into the set. At around $50, it packages a product-exclusive foil promo, an oversized lenticular card, a tech sticker, and eight Perfect Order booster packs.
This guide covers what makes the design unusual, what's in the box, and how the price ladder runs from the Premium Collection to a raw SIR single.
Complete Forme and the Design Logic Behind a Mega That Doesn't Exist
Zygarde is a Kalos legendary from Generation VI, introduced alongside Mega Evolution in Pokémon X and Y. Despite sharing a generation with the Mega mechanic, Zygarde never received a Mega Evolution in any game: not in X/Y, not in Sun/Moon, not in any title since.
What Zygarde did receive instead is a forme system: the 50% Forme (the standard serpentine dog), the 10% Forme (the compact Doggo shape), and the Complete Forme, a towering 4.5-meter humanoid that operates, per the official Pokédex, at 100% of Zygarde's power. The Complete Forme was formalized in Pokémon Sun and Moon via the Reassembly Unit mechanic, which lets Zygarde collect Cells and Cores to shift formes mid-game.
That "100% power" framing is exactly the design space the TCG Mega Zygarde ex occupies. The card draws on the Complete Forme's visual language: the full-upright silhouette, the green-black cell structure, the sheer scale. It reads as a Mega form because Complete Forme Zygarde already looks like one, even without the official Mega designation.
This kind of TCG-exclusive Mega design isn't rare in the Mega Evolution series. Mega Golurk ex in ME06 Delta Reign and Mega Malamar ex are both TCG-original Mega forms for Pokémon with no main-series Mega counterpart. The pattern is consistent: the TCG expands the Mega roster beyond what the games established, using the lore and aesthetic of each Pokémon's most powerful existing form as the basis.
What's in the Premium Collection
The box contains four items: a foil promo card featuring Mega Zygarde ex, an oversized lenticular card, a tech sticker, and eight Perfect Order booster packs.
The foil promo uses a different artwork from the 124/088 SIR. It's a product-exclusive card: the promo version of Mega Zygarde ex is not pullable from any booster pack in the ME03 set, or from any other product. If you want that specific artwork, the Premium Collection is the only path.
The lenticular card is an oversized display piece, a format the ME series uses for its premium box products to give collectors a showcase item beyond standard pack inserts. The tech sticker completes the accessory lineup.
Price varies across sellers. MHDEALSPLUS and Sports-card-zone both list at $49.95. The mid-range sits at $55–$57 at CardMules and Sunny's Card Shop.
The Ballers Bank lists at $89.95. For most buyers, the $49.95–$57 range covers the same product from different sellers at a lower cost.
The 124/088 Special Illustration Rare
Mega Zygarde ex is numbered 124/088 in ME03 Perfect Order. The set has 88 numbered cards, so 124/088 sits 36 positions above the base set total. That above-set numbering is the standard convention for Special Illustration Rares in the modern Pokémon TCG: they're pulled at lower rates and carry distinct full-art or special illustrated borders that differ from the regular card variants in the set.
Raw prices for the English SIR currently run from $106 at Mandragora TCG to $153 at Papa Joey's Collectibles, with Paymore listings at $139.99 in the middle. The spread reflects condition grading and listing platform. This card has settled into a relatively stable raw price window rather than showing significant month-to-month movement.
The Premium Collection's eight booster packs include shots at the 124/088, but the pull rate makes a guaranteed SIR a statistical long shot across eight packs. Buying a raw single is the reliable path to the SIR. The Premium Collection's value is in the promo card and accessories: the box costs less than the SIR floor, which means you're effectively getting those extras at no added cost if you plan to buy the SIR separately.
The ME03 Elite Trainer Box
For deeper ME03 pulls without the Premium Collection's accessories, the Elite Trainer Box is the standard format. The ME03 ETB starts at $54.99 at TCG Sorted, with higher listings up to $99.95 at Galactic Toys.
The ETB does not include the Mega Zygarde ex promo card. That promo is exclusive to the Premium Collection. Buyers who want both the promo artwork and more pack volume would need to buy both products separately.
ME03 also sits directly before ME04 Chaos Rising in the set sequence. Collectors building across the ME series typically use ME03 as the bridge between ME01 and the higher-value ME04 and ME05 sets. The Mega Zygarde ex SIR is ME03's headline card, and its TCG-exclusive status means there's no main-series reprint path that would dilute its position in the set.
