Mimikyu Collector's Guide 2026: GX, V, ex, and Every Price Tier From $2.99 to $329

Mimikyu pulls off its disguise trick in the TCG, too.

The same character shows up at $2.99 as a Journey Together Double Rare and at $329 as a Lost Thunder Secret Rare. Both are Mimikyu. Neither is playable over the other in any current-format game.

The price gap is entirely a product of era, rarity tier, and print run. Not power level.

Mimikyu first debuted in the Sun and Moon games in 2016. It picked up its first TCG premium card in Lost Thunder (2018), a Trainer Gallery V in Brilliant Stars (2022), a promo with two distinct versions in the Scarlet and Violet era, and an ex designation in Journey Together. This guide maps every card worth knowing and the sealed product that delivers the ex version.

The SM Era: Lost Thunder GX and the Secret Rare Ceiling

Lost Thunder (SM08) released in November 2018 and gave Mimikyu its first major TCG card: Mimikyu GX 149/214. The Ultra Rare version carries the GX designation and sits at a CA$77 floor on the secondary market as of mid-2026. It uses the standard foil treatment for the era and was a respectable pull at the time of release.

The Secret Rare version, Mimikyu GX 226/214, is a different story. Above-set-numbered cards in the SM era used a rainbow foil treatment, and Mimikyu's rainbow commands a floor of $198–$329 across current listings.

The Secret Rare premium is character-driven, not scarcity-driven. Mimikyu's disguise identity made it one of the more visually distinct characters in the rainbow foil format, where the holographic treatment obscures the artwork and lets the outline stand out. Collectors who prioritized character over set completion ended up with a significant appreciation window between 2018 and now.

For budget-conscious collectors, the 149/214 Ultra Rare is the more accessible entry point in the GX era. The core artwork, the GX designation, and the Lost Thunder set context are identical between the two.

SWSH Era: The Brilliant Stars Trainer Gallery V

Brilliant Stars (SWSH09, February 2022) introduced the Trainer Gallery subset, a feature of the Sword and Shield era that placed Pokémon alongside Trainers in full-card art. Mimikyu appeared as a V card: Mimikyu V TG16/TG30.

Mimikyu V (TG16/TG30) Sword and Shield: Brilliant Stars Trainer Gallery

$76.50 USD

Mimikyu does not have a VMAX in any English set. The TG16/TG30 V is the ceiling of SWSH-era Mimikyu collecting. Current listings run $76.50–$91, placing it in the mid-tier of Trainer Gallery singles from that set.

Trainer Gallery placement matters for Mimikyu specifically because it meant the card received a full-card alternate art composition rather than a standard rare slot. Mimikyu's lore centers on its disguise being torn apart if anyone sees what hides inside: Trainer Gallery gave artists room to work with that concept in a way a standard rare illustration never could.

SV Era Promo: SVP075 in Two Versions

Mimikyu appeared in the Scarlet and Violet era as a Black Star Promo: SVP075. This promo came in two structurally different print runs.

The standard version of SVP075 runs $15–$20 and carries an Illustration Rare treatment in some listings. The Pokemon Center exclusive version of the same card number is listed at $71.22 by CollectorsRealm. Both are SVP075.

The four-to-five times price gap reflects the Pokemon Center holo foil treatment applied to the exclusive version, not any difference in card number or artwork designation.

This is a documented collector trap: searching for "Mimikyu SVP075" returns both versions. The $15 listing and the $71 listing are different physical prints. If you want the Pokemon Center holofoil, confirm the seller specifies the exclusive version before purchasing.

Journey Together and the Mimikyu ex Box

Mimikyu's ex designation arrived in Journey Together (SV09) as card 069/159. The raw price sits at $2.99, which makes it the most affordable entry into the current Scarlet and Violet ex format for this character.

The low floor does not mean low quality. Mimikyu ex 069/159 is a Double Rare designation within the set.

It has no alt-art variant and no Special Illustration Rare in the same set, so there is no premium version to chase within Journey Together. The card is exactly what it appears to be: a standard Double Rare at $2.99.

$100.00 USD

The Mimikyu ex Box is the sealed product path into Mimikyu's SV-era ex card. At $95–$125, it delivers a Mimikyu ex promo card alongside booster packs.

The promo card is not pullable from any booster set, making the box the only product-exclusive avenue for that specific version. Buyers who want the ex artwork as a sealed collectible are paying for the box structure, not the pack contents.

Plush: Three Price Points From $30 to $53

Mimikyu's plush line splits into three accessible tiers.

Pokemon 8 Inch Collector Plush Mimikyu by Toynk
Pokemon 8 Inch Collector Plush: Mimikyu · $34.99 USD

The 8 Inch Collector Plush from Toynk at $34.99 is the Western retail option, stocking consistently and shipping from a US warehouse. The Sanei All Star Collection PP232 at $30 (Ichiba Japan) is the Japanese standard: the sitting pose used across the All Star line, at a slightly lower price point with importer shipping to factor in.

At the top of the plush tier sits the Fuwafuwa Daki (Fluffy Cuddle) plush at $53. This is a stretched, huggable format rather than the seated figure pose, designed for display rather than shelf placement.

All three are currently available from independent merchants. None are Pokemon Center exclusive releases, so availability is stable across multiple sellers.

The Collector Summary

Mimikyu's TCG ladder runs across four eras. The SM-era Secret Rare at $198–$329 is the prestige ceiling. Below it: the SWSH Trainer Gallery V at $76–$91, then the SV-era promo standard at $15–$20, and finally the Journey Together ex at $2.99 for collectors entering the current era without paying a character premium.

The one structural fact that separates Mimikyu from other Gen 7 Ghost-types in collecting: Mimikyu has no Mega Evolution in the main series games and does not appear in the Mega Evolution TCG series as a featured card. Its entire collector arc sits inside the standard SM, SWSH, and SV eras with no Mega ceiling to anchor future price floors. For collectors who prefer a predictable price ladder rather than speculative ex★ positioning, that is actually a cleaner entry profile.
