Necrozma Collector's Guide 2026: Four Forms, Three TCG Eras, and Every Price Tier
Necrozma is one Pokédex number with four collector markets built in.
Introduced in Sun and Moon (2016) as the Prism Pokémon, Necrozma (#800) is a Psychic-type Legendary that can absorb two other Legendaries to transform: Solgaleo becomes Dusk Mane Necrozma, Lunala becomes Dawn Wings Necrozma, and the most powerful form, Ultra Necrozma, unlocks when Necrozma fully releases its stored light. Each transformation produces a distinct dual typing, a distinct TCG release window, and a distinct collector ceiling.
That structure sets Necrozma apart from every other Legendary in the franchise. Buying into the complete Necrozma collection requires navigating cards from three separate Pokédex families across sets released between 2017 and 2018. No other Pokémon has that requirement baked into its design.
This guide covers each form in order, from the cheapest entry points to the $500 sealed ceiling.
Base Necrozma: The Burning Shadows Entry Point
Base Necrozma made its TCG debut in Sun and Moon: Burning Shadows (August 2017), and that set remains the character's best value entry point in 2026. Necrozma GX 63/147 is the Full Art Ultra Rare from that set, currently sitting at $3.50–$4.00 raw across multiple storefronts. For a GX-era Full Art from a primary SM set, that is near-floor pricing.
The Battle Styles era (SWSH05, March 2021) added a V and Full Art V for base Necrozma. Necrozma V 063/163 runs $1.99 raw, and the Full Art Necrozma V 149/163 is $5.20. Both are in Sword and Shield era, so they're structurally different from the SM-era GX cards, but they offer an accessible SWSH collector entry for anyone wanting a contemporary treatment.
There is no dedicated English ETB or Premium Collection for base-form Necrozma. Collectors who want sealed product anchored to base Necrozma will not find one.
The only English sealed products headlining Necrozma by name are form-specific: the Dusk Mane and Dawn Wings Collection boxes. Base Necrozma is sealed-product-orphaned in English releases.
Dusk Mane Necrozma: The Ultra Prism Steel Form
Dusk Mane Necrozma absorbs Solgaleo and becomes Psychic/Steel. Its TCG window is Sun and Moon: Ultra Prism (February 2018), the set that launched alongside the Ultra Sun expansion of the games.
The standard Dusk Mane Necrozma GX 90/156 anchors the budget tier at $6–$10 raw. The Full Art version sits in the mid tier.
The collector ceiling for Dusk Mane is the Secret Rare 163/156 gold-border card, which runs $19.99–$25.00 raw from multiple active storefronts. That number places it above the 156-card set total, the SM-era's version of what SV-era collectors now call above-set or Special Illustration Rare treatment. For a gold-border card, $25 is low: the equivalent tier for fan-favorite characters like Charizard or Pikachu from the same era trades significantly higher, making Dusk Mane an accessible gold-border purchase.
For sealed product, the Dusk Mane Necrozma Collection Box is the only English sealed product to headline the character. Listings currently run $183–$320 USD depending on condition and seller. At that price point, it functions as a sealed-era artifact rather than an opened-pack value play.
Dawn Wings Necrozma: The Ultra Prism Ghost Form
Dawn Wings Necrozma absorbs Lunala and becomes Psychic/Ghost. Its TCG home is also Ultra Prism, released in the same set alongside Dusk Mane. That parallel release created an unusual dynamic: two distinct Necrozma forms share the same debut set, making Ultra Prism the single most important set in the entire Necrozma collecting story.
Dawn Wings commands a notable premium over Dusk Mane at the top of the ladder. The Dawn Wings Full Art 143/156 runs $18 raw, while the Hyper Rare gold-border 161/156 reaches CA$37.60 from 401 Games.
Compare that to Dusk Mane's $25 Secret Rare ceiling: Dawn Wings outprices Dusk Mane in the ultra tier by roughly 20–30% at current USD/CAD rates. The Ghost-type dual-typing likely drives part of that premium, given its seasonal collector demand profile.
Sealed, the Dawn Wings Collection Box lists at $190–$320 USD, broadly in line with the Dusk Mane box. Both boxes share the same core structure: a GX promo card, a coin, and booster packs. The form-specific GX promo is the reason to buy either one.
Ultra Necrozma: The Forbidden Light Apex
Ultra Necrozma GX lives in Sun and Moon: Forbidden Light (May 2018, SM06). This is Necrozma's own set: the expansion's cover is Ultra Necrozma, and it headlined the launch marketing in a way neither Dusk Mane nor Dawn Wings received for Ultra Prism.
Forbidden Light's Ultra Necrozma GX has three English print variants. The standard 95/131 runs $7–$8 raw, the Full Art 127/131 is $34.99 NM, and the Secret Rare gold-border 140/131 runs $30.
The unusual inversion here: the Full Art trades above the Secret Rare. For most SM-era sets, the gold-border Secret Rare is the highest-demand variant. Ultra Necrozma is an exception.
The Full Art's illustration depicts Necrozma with outstretched wings and full divine light rays against a saturated yellow background. It is regarded as the more iconic of the two alt-art treatments, and secondary-market demand reflects that.
The card text adds another layer of interest. Ultra Necrozma GX's "Light That Burns the Sky" attack deals 200 damage for three energy, but only when Necrozma has 10 or more damage counters on it.
It is mechanically built on near-death state as a power source: the Pokémon hits hardest when closest to being knocked out. That attack structure drove tournament use in the 2017–2019 competitive window and remains the reason the card has a collector story beyond raw aesthetics.
Dragon Majesty and the $500 Sealed Ceiling
The Dragon Majesty Ultra Necrozma GX Figure Collection (SM7a, October 2018) sits at the top of the Necrozma sealed market. Current listings run $500 USD from active storefronts.
Dragon Majesty was a 70-card mini-set focused on Dragon types released between Forbidden Light and Lost Thunder. The Ultra Necrozma Figure Collection included a sculpted Ultra Necrozma figure, a foil promo GX card, and Dragon Majesty booster packs.
At $500, sealed specimens have appreciated well beyond retail. The figure itself is one of the most detailed Necrozma three-dimensional pieces produced in the entire SM product run.
The Pokémon Fit Plush: Non-TCG Entry Point
Outside the TCG, the Japan-exclusive Pokémon Fit Ultra Necrozma plush (No.800) is the primary non-card collectible for the character. Collector Store currently lists it at $24.99 USD, imported from Japanese Pokémon Center distribution.
The Fit series uses a consistent small chibi format across all species, so the Ultra Necrozma Fit is priced in line with other Fit plushes for Legendary Pokémon. It is Ultra Necrozma specifically, not base Necrozma or either fusion form, reflecting the priority given to the character's most iconic transformation in physical merchandise. No standard Pokémon Fit exists for Dusk Mane or Dawn Wings forms as of September 2026.
For collectors who want the physical tier without committing to TCG singles, the plush is the most accessible Necrozma collectible available from independent shops right now.
