Regidrago and Regieleki in 2026: Which Galar Legendary Deserves a Spot in Your Crown Zenith Order?
By Dexhaul Team · September 2, 2026
Two Galar legendaries from the same Crown Tundra DLC became two of the most mechanically distinct cards the Sword & Shield era produced.
Regidrago and Regieleki were introduced in the Crown Tundra expansion for Sword & Shield, joining the expanded Regi family alongside Regirock, Regice, and Registeel. Both received V cards, and then more powerful variants, in Silver Tempest (SWSH12) before appearing as promo V cards in the Crown Zenith product line released January 2023.
If you are considering a Crown Zenith order in 2026, understanding what each of these Pokémon brings to the table makes the product choice a lot clearer.
What Regidrago VSTAR Can Do
The Dragon-type Regidrago VSTAR from Silver Tempest (136/195) carries one of the most unusual attacks in the entire SWSH era: Apex Dragon. Costing two Grass and one Fire energy, it lets you choose an attack from any Dragon-type Pokémon in your discard pile and use it as that attack.
That single line of rules text turned Regidrago VSTAR into a competitive wildcard in late 2022 formats. You could pair it with discarded Duraludon VMAX, Dragonite V, or other Dragon attackers to access a rotating menu of different attacks from one card. The 280 HP base gives it enough stamina to swing more than once.
The broader significance for collectors: VMAX and VSTAR mechanics are Sword & Shield exclusive. They cannot be reprinted in the Scarlet & Violet format, which means Apex Dragon represents a permanently closed chapter of TCG design. There will not be another card that works quite like it.
What Regieleki VMAX Brings
Regieleki VMAX from Silver Tempest (58/195) takes a different approach. Its Transistor ability adds 30 damage to every Basic Lightning Pokémon's attacks, making it one of the better passive damage buffs in SWSH competitive play during its format window.
The VMAX has 310 HP and a zero retreat cost. Zero retreat on a 310 HP Pokemon is genuinely unusual: most large VMAXes cost two or three Energy to retreat, so Regieleki VMAX can pivot freely in a way other attackers of its size cannot. Its Max Thunder and Lightning attack hits for 220 at the cost of skipping your next attack, a tradeoff that worked well in Lightning-heavy decks of 2022.
Regieleki holds the highest base Speed stat of any Pokémon in the main series games at 200. The zero retreat cost is a quiet nod to that lore, and it is one of those small design details that makes the card feel coherent with the character.
The Crown Zenith V Collection Products
Crown Zenith shipped in January 2023 as the final special set in the Sword & Shield era, and its product line included individual V Collection boxes for Regidrago and Regieleki. Each box contained its respective promo V card, four Crown Zenith booster packs, and a collector's coin.
The Crown Zenith Regidrago/Regieleki V Collection Box bundle available from independent sellers today combines both products. At $120, that works out to roughly $60 per box, which tracks with the original suggested retail price for these products when they released.
The promo V cards in these boxes were not distributed through any other Crown Zenith product. If you want a Regidrago V or Regieleki V from this product line specifically, these collection boxes are the only source.
Regidrago or Regieleki: Which to Prioritize
Regidrago is the stronger choice for Dragon-type collectors or anyone drawn to mechanical uniqueness in the TCG. Apex Dragon is the kind of design that only happened once in SWSH; it is a collector's curiosity with a competitive footnote, and the Silver Tempest rainbow rare at 201/195 is the alt-art variant worth watching if you care about high-rarity prints.
Regieleki suits Lightning collectors and players who appreciate utility design. The Transistor ability was genuinely competitive in its format window, and the zero retreat cost sets it apart visually and mechanically from other large VMAXes. The Silver Tempest rainbow rare at 198/195 is equally striking.
If you are buying the Crown Zenith V Collection bundle primarily for the packs, either Regidrago or Regieleki makes sense as a secondary focus. Crown Zenith's Galarian Gallery subset runs from GG01 to GG70 and contains some of the most visually impressive alternate-art cards of the SWSH era, so the packs themselves have strong appeal beyond any one featured Pokémon.
