Rillaboom Collector's Guide 2026: Shiny Vault, Crown Zenith Promo, and the Three-Set VMAX Run
By Dexhaul Team · September 28, 2026
Rillaboom has four distinct collector targets across the Sword and Shield era, more than most Galar starters. Its VMAX form appeared in three separate sets. Its Shiny Vault entry stacks all three evolutionary tiers into a single 122-card subset. And its Crown Zenith promo adds a holo treatment that no booster pack can produce.
This guide covers each tier: what to look for, what it costs, and where the actual depth of the Rillaboom catalogue sits in 2026.
The Rebel Clash Starting Point
Rillaboom debuted in the TCG with Sword and Shield: Rebel Clash in 2020. That set introduced three cards for the evolutionary line at launch: Rillaboom 014/192 (Holo Rare), Rillaboom V 015/192, and Rillaboom VMAX 016/192.
The Rebel Clash base Rillaboom is the entry point for the collection and currently trades under $2 at most secondary sellers. It is a standard Holo Rare, not a chase card, but it is the foundational print for any complete Rillaboom set run.
Rebel Clash also introduced the Rillaboom Ability mechanic. Floaty Stone and Voltage Beat became relevant in competitive formats through Sword and Shield, which is part of why Rillaboom stayed visible across multiple reprints in later sets.
The Shiny Vault: Three Tiers in One Subset
Shining Fates (2021) is the set that separates Rillaboom from most Galar starters. Its 122-card Shiny Vault includes three Rillaboom entries: SV006/SV122 (base shiny Rillaboom), SV105/SV122 (Rillaboom V shiny), and SV106/SV122 (Rillaboom VMAX shiny).
All three evolutionary tiers in a single 122-card subset is unusual. Most Pokémon in the Shiny Vault appear once or twice. Having the full line (base form, V, and VMAX) in the same numbered block makes Shining Fates the highest-density single set for Rillaboom collectors.
The base shiny (SV006) carries a silver card border and the green-tinted shiny Rillaboom artwork that differs visually from every standard print. The VMAX shiny (SV106) reproduces the oversized VMAX art in the same silver treatment. At current secondary market prices, both are accessible at under $5 from most sellers.
Fusion Strike: The Third VMAX Set
Most Pokémon with a VMAX form received it in one or two Sword and Shield sets. Rillaboom's VMAX appeared in three: Rebel Clash (016/192), Shining Fates Shiny Vault (SV106/SV122), and Fusion Strike (023/264).
The Fusion Strike print (023/264) is the third and final VMAX appearance and currently sits at under $5 at most sellers. It uses the full-art VMAX card frame with the orange border treatment introduced in Sword and Shield's later sets, distinct from the Rebel Clash version's earlier card template.
Collectors building an era-complete run need Fusion Strike specifically because it is numbered separately from both Rebel Clash and Shining Fates. It is not a reprint of either prior VMAX; it is a distinct card entry for the same Pokémon form across the same era.
Crown Zenith Pin Collection and the SWSH277 Promo
The Crown Zenith Rillaboom Pin Collection is the only source for SWSH277, the Black Star Promo holo for the base Rillaboom form. That card cannot be pulled from any booster pack. It was distributed exclusively through this blister product.
The distinction matters to set completionists. Every other holofoil Rillaboom in the Sword and Shield era comes from booster packs or the Shiny Vault. SWSH277 has a different card border, a different set symbol, and a holo treatment applied to the base-form artwork rather than the V or VMAX versions. It is the only collector-grade holo for the non-evolved Rillaboom in English.
The Crown Zenith Pin Collection includes three Crown Zenith booster packs alongside the promo and a Rillaboom enamel pin. Sealed product has stayed above $50 on the secondary market as Crown Zenith has aged into a complete-era collector set.
Scarlet and Violet: The Twilight Masquerade Print
The Scarlet and Violet era introduced a non-VMAX Rillaboom with Twilight Masquerade (SV06) in 2024. The card is 016/167, an uncommon print without a holo treatment, and currently trades under $1.50 at most sellers.
It is worth noting for era-run collectors because it is the first Rillaboom card outside the Sword and Shield print window. The Scarlet and Violet base set did not include Rillaboom, making Twilight Masquerade the SV-era entry point for the character.
There is no SV-era V or ex version of Rillaboom as of late September 2026. The character's highest-rarity single remains in the Sword and Shield era, which positions the older sets as the primary target for collectors seeking above-common treatment.
Plush: The San-Ei All Star Collection
Most Galar starter plush sets cover Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble, the first-stage forms. The Rillaboom standalone plush from San-Ei Boeki (PP176, All Star Collection) is the main collector-grade option for the final evolution specifically.
The San-Ei All Star Collection is a long-running line of officially licensed plushes manufactured in Japan. PP176 is the numbered entry for Rillaboom in that series. It ships at approximately 22 cm and is available through import sellers at $31–$36 USD.
Import plushes from this line carry a different price structure from standard retail because they are manufactured in Japan for the Japanese market. There is no domestic US or AU version of the All Star Collection. Every listing you find is an imported unit from a Japanese-market run.
Where to Start
The cleanest entry point is the Rebel Clash Holo Rare (014/192) for under $2, which anchors the card collection to Rillaboom's TCG debut. From there, the Shining Fates Shiny Vault adds the highest visual variety at the lowest cost: three cards (SV006, SV105, SV106) for under $10 combined from most secondary sellers.
SWSH277 rounds out the card collection as the only promo holo for the base form. It trades as a loose single for under $3 and is worth sourcing separately rather than paying sealed Crown Zenith Pin Collection prices if you already have the booster packs covered.
The Fusion Strike VMAX (023/264) is the last distinct card to close the VMAX run. Three sets, three VMAX entries, all currently accessible under $5 each.
