Pokémon League Battle Decks: Every Release and Deck List (2026)
By Dexhaul Team · October 13, 2026 · 7 min read
There have been twelve Pokémon TCG League Battle Decks released across three eras, from the Sword and Shield-era Zacian V (2021) to the upcoming Mega Greninja ex pre-order (November 2026). Each one is a ready-to-play 60-card deck built around a single featured Pokémon, designed for League-level competitive play.
The current retail price for new releases is $29.99 MSRP. That's a $10 reduction from the original $39.99 MSRP of the first two League Battle Decks, as ICv2 reported at launch. Every deck since the Scarlet and Violet era has landed at $29.99.

Where to start
Three of the twelve releases stand out for different buyers right now.
Best for getting into the ME era: Mega Lucario ex
The Mega Lucario ex League Battle Deck arrived in June 2026 and is built around the Mega Forces ruleset. It's the easiest entry point into ME-era competitive play, with a synergistic deck and a confirmed $29.99 MSRP. Multiple independent shops have copies in stock today.
Best for experienced SV players: Charizard ex or Dragapult ex
Both the Charizard ex and Dragapult ex League Battle Decks are built around the full Scarlet and Violet ruleset. Charizard ex is the stronger collector piece; Dragapult ex is the better competitive deck for experienced players who want a consistent mid-game strategy.
Best for a Sword and Shield collector: Zacian V or Shadow Rider Calyrex VMAX
The four SWSH-era decks are no longer Standard-legal, but they remain in stock from independent shops. The Zacian V deck is the most sought-after of the four among collectors who want a complete League Battle Deck set.
League Battle Deck vs Mega Battle Deck: the ME-era naming problem
This is the most common point of confusion for anyone buying in 2025 or 2026.
The Mega Forces era introduced two separate product lines with very similar names. "League Battle Decks" (Team Rocket's Mewtwo ex, Mega Lucario ex, Mega Greninja ex) are the same premium format as always: $29.99 MSRP, full deck, full accessories. "Mega Battle Decks" (Mega Gengar ex, Mega Diancie ex) are a separate, lower-priced product at roughly $22.99 MSRP with a different accessory loadout.
The word "Mega" appears in both names, which leads buyers to assume Mega Battle Decks are an upgraded version of League Battle Decks. They are not.
Check the exact product name before you add to cart: if it says "League Battle Deck", you're getting the competitive-tier product. If it says "Mega Battle Deck", you're getting the mid-tier one.
Both are genuine licensed Pokémon TCG products. Neither is counterfeit.
They are simply two different price points, and the naming overlap is a real source of buyer confusion. See our Battle Deck vs League Battle Deck guide for a full comparison across all three tiers.
The MSRP shift: $39.99 to $29.99
The first four League Battle Decks (Zacian V through Origin Forme Palkia VSTAR) all launched at $39.99 MSRP. With the Scarlet and Violet era, the price dropped to $29.99 and has stayed there through the Mega Forces era.
The Sword and Shield decks now trade below their original MSRP on the secondary market. Zacian V (the first League Battle Deck ever released) sits around CA$69.99 from Canadian retailers and lower in USD, which is less than its 2021 launch price.
This is the opposite pattern from sealed booster boxes, which tend to appreciate over time. League Battle Decks are a product line that rewards buying at MSRP on release rather than holding.

What every League Battle Deck includes
The contents have been consistent across all twelve releases.
Every League Battle Deck contains: one ready-to-play 60-card deck built around the featured Pokémon, six damage-counter dice, one coin-flip die, two coin condition markers, one deck box, one strategy sheet, and one code card for online play. The deck box and card back art changes per release; the dice and markers are generic across all releases.
No booster packs. No additional promo cards. The deck itself is the product, which is what distinguishes a League Battle Deck from a Collection Box or Elite Trainer Box.

League Battle Decks as a gift this Q4
For a gift-giver who wants something the recipient can open and play immediately, a League Battle Deck at $29.99 MSRP is one of the more honest picks in the TCG product range.
There's no gamble element: the recipient knows exactly what they're getting, and the deck is functional right out of the box at local League events. Pair it with a deck box upgrade or a set of card sleeves for a complete gift. For a wider gift shortlist with options at every budget, see the 2026 Pokémon holiday gift guide.
If you're buying for someone who already has an SV-era deck, the Mega Lucario ex or Mega Greninja ex (pre-order, November 2026) are the two current ME-era options that will plug into ME-format League play. If they haven't played in years, any of the in-stock SWSH or SV decks still work for casual play, though they're no longer Standard-legal.
