Where the Moltres ex UPC fits in the product stack
The Pokémon TCG releases products in a clear tier structure. Booster packs are the entry point, then Booster Bundles and Build & Battle Boxes, then Elite Trainer Boxes with nine booster packs and standard accessories.
Ultra-Premium Collections are the flagship tier: the biggest pack count, exclusive promo cards not available anywhere else in the product line, and premium accessories built for display as much as play.
The Moltres ex UPC is the top-tier product for Destined Rivals, the English edition of the Japanese sv10 set "The Glory of Team Rocket." Moltres ex is one of the headline cards across the whole release, appearing across tins, boxes, and this UPC. UPCs carry the product line’s exclusive promos: if you want the Moltres ex promo cards included here, this box is the only sealed way to get them.
Current prices and the price spread
Independent retailers listing the Moltres ex UPC in October 2026 range from $345 to over $600 for the same sealed box. Most US-based listings cluster between $345 and $400.
That spread is not a difference in product quality or edition. It is the same sealed box, priced differently by independent shops based on their own cost structures and stock positioning.
The $200+ gap between the cheapest and most expensive current listings is worth spending five minutes on before committing. Run a search on DexHaul before buying: results update in real time and show the full spread across independent shops.
How it compares to the other Team Rocket options
The Destined Rivals product lineup gives buyers real choices at very different price points. Understanding the stack makes the UPC decision clearer.
Team Rocket Tins ($50–65 each)
The Team Rocket Tins (Mewtwo ex, Persian ex, and Nidoking ex) include one featured ex promo card, four booster packs, and a metal tin. At $50–65 each, they are designed for gift buyers and casual openers.
The ex promos in the tins are different cards from those in the UPC. If you want entry-level Team Rocket product, the tins are the right starting point.
Destined Rivals Elite Trainer Box ($120–130)
The standard ETB includes nine Destined Rivals booster packs, 65 sleeves, a coin, and a cardboard box. No exclusive promos.
It is the right buy for someone who wants to open a meaningful amount of Destined Rivals packs without spending UPC money. The per-pack cost in an ETB is lower once you account for the exclusive-promo premium embedded in the UPC price.
Moltres ex Ultra-Premium Collection ($345–600+)
The UPC adds exclusive Moltres ex promo cards, more booster packs, a full-size playmat, deck box, and a premium accessories package. You are paying a significant premium over the ETB for the promos, the playmat, and the presentation.
If you do not care about exclusive promos and just want to open packs, the ETB is better value. If you want the promos and the premium accessories, the UPC is the only source.
Who should actually buy this
Three distinct collector profiles exist for this product, and only one of them should be targeting the UPC specifically.
The pack opener
If your goal is opening Destined Rivals packs to chase pulls, the ETB is a better calculation. The UPC premium is embedded in the exclusive promos, playmat, and deck box, not in better pull rates.
An opener who buys a $350 UPC instead of three $120 ETBs is spending the difference on promos and accessories, not extra packs. That is only a good trade if you also want those items.
The display collector
This is the buyer the UPC is built for. The exclusive Moltres ex promo cards, the full-size playmat, the deck box, and the sealed presentation together create something worth putting on a shelf.
If you collect showcase products and display them, the Moltres ex UPC delivers exactly what it promises. Buy toward the $345–365 end of the current price range and you are getting the full UPC experience without the high-end markup.
The completionist
If you are collecting every major Destined Rivals product release, the UPC is not optional: the exclusive promos make it required. The decision for a completionist is not whether to buy it but where. The $200+ spread between the cheapest and most expensive current listings is worth five minutes of searching before committing.
Frequently asked questions
What is inside the Team Rocket’s Moltres ex Ultra-Premium Collection?
The box contains exclusive Moltres ex promo card(s), multiple Destined Rivals booster packs, a full-size playmat, a deck box, 65 card sleeves, damage counter dice, and a competition coin. Because merchant listings vary on the exact booster pack count, verify that detail on each retailer’s product page before purchasing.
What is the MSRP for the Moltres ex UPC?
No official MSRP has been publicly confirmed for this product. Independent retailers in October 2026 list the sealed box from $345 on the low end to over $600, with most US listings between $345 and $400. Comparing prices across shops before buying is the fastest way to save money on the same sealed product.
What promo cards are exclusive to the Moltres ex UPC?
The UPC includes exclusive Moltres ex promo card(s) not sold through any other Destined Rivals product. These carry SVP promo numbers distinct from in-set Moltres ex cards. Check the official Serebii SV Promos listing for the specific card numbers once published.
How does the Moltres ex UPC compare to the Destined Rivals ETB?
The ETB gives you nine booster packs and standard accessories for $120–130. The UPC adds exclusive promos, a full-size playmat, and a deck box at a significant premium. If you only want packs, the ETB is better value per pack. If you want the exclusive promos and display accessories, the UPC is the only source for them.
Is the Team Rocket’s Moltres ex UPC worth it?
Worth it for display collectors and completionists who specifically want the exclusive Moltres ex promo cards and the premium accessories. Not worth it for pack openers, who can open more Destined Rivals packs for less money by buying multiple ETBs instead. If you decide to buy, aim for the $345–365 range currently available from independent shops rather than paying the $500+ premium some sellers charge for the same box.
The bottom line
The Team Rocket’s Moltres ex Ultra-Premium Collection is a legitimate premium product. The exclusive promo cards, the full-size playmat, the deck box, and the sealed presentation all justify a premium over the ETB.
Display collectors and completionists are the natural buyers. Pack openers should stick with ETBs unless they also want the exclusive promos. Everyone who decides to buy should compare prices before committing: the current market in October 2026 has a $200+ spread and the lowest listings are from established independent retailers.
