PowerA Pokémon Controllers (2026): Every Switch Design
By Dexhaul Team · October 8, 2026 · 6 min read
PowerA makes the most varied lineup of officially licensed Pokémon controllers for Nintendo Switch hardware.
There are three tiers to know. The Advantage Wireless is a Nintendo Switch 2-exclusive with hall effect thumbsticks.
The Enhanced Wired line spans Switch-only designs and newer dual-compatible models. The Enhanced Wireless serves original Switch owners who prefer no cable.
Switch 2 owners: start with the Advantage Wireless Pokémon: Mega Evolutions design. It is the only Pokémon controller in the line purpose-built for Switch 2's hardware. Everyone else has over a dozen wired and wireless options below.

Where to start: three picks
Switch 2 owners: Advantage Wireless Mega Evolutions
This is the only PowerA Pokémon controller purpose-built for Nintendo Switch 2. It features hall effect analog thumbsticks, which resist stick drift by using magnetic sensors rather than the contact-based mechanism that wears out over time on standard controllers. A dedicated C Button for Switch 2's quick menu and motion controls round out the spec sheet.
The Mega Evolutions design ties into Pokémon Legends: Z-A and the broader Mega Evolution revival across the current generation of games. It is the most visually distinctive Pokémon controller PowerA has made.
Budget and Switch owners: Enhanced Wired Pikachu Arcade
The Enhanced Wired line starts under $30 for many designs and includes a 10-foot detachable USB cable, a 3.5mm audio jack, and two mappable advanced gaming buttons. The Pikachu Arcade design is among the most widely available.
Wireless fans on original Switch: Ultra Ball Enhanced Wireless
The Ultra Ball design is one of the few wireless options in the Pokémon range outside the Switch 2 Advantage line. It delivers roughly 40 hours of wireless play and includes dual vibration and two mappable buttons. Note that Enhanced Wireless controllers are for original Switch only: they are not officially compatible with Switch 2.
Switch 2 Advantage vs Enhanced: what actually changed
The biggest difference between the Advantage Wireless Switch 2 and the Enhanced series is the thumbstick mechanism.
Standard analog thumbsticks use carbon contact pads that degrade over time. This produces stick drift: unwanted input caused by worn contact surfaces.
Hall effect thumbsticks replace those contacts with a magnet and sensor pair. The sensor reads position without physical contact, so there is nothing to wear out. On a controller you plan to use for years, this is a meaningful hardware difference, not a marketing claim.
The Advantage Wireless also adds a C Button, which maps to the Nintendo Switch 2 quick-access menu, and onboard motion controls. Neither feature exists on the Enhanced series.
One tradeoff: the Advantage Wireless is Switch 2 only. The dual-compatible Enhanced Wired models (Pikachu Charge, Pikachu Evolution, Sweet Friends, Pikachu Blush) are the better choice if your household runs both systems, since they work on original Switch hardware as well. See the Switch vs Switch 2 comparison for more context on which system fits your situation.
Telling licensed from unlicensed
Unlicensed Pokémon controllers exist, and some look convincing at first glance.
Every genuine PowerA Pokémon controller carries "Officially Licensed by Nintendo" text on the box and bears both the Nintendo and The Pokémon Company International trademarks. The product name on the box matches the listing exactly, including the "PowerA Enhanced" or "PowerA Advantage" branding. Counterfeit controllers often misspell brand names or show blurry logo printing.
Check the seller's return policy and physical address before buying secondhand. PowerA's official lineup is documented on PowerA's Pokémon brand page, which lists current designs.
If a design you find online is not listed there and lacks visible official licensing text in the product photos, treat it as unverified. DexHaul shows listings from independent shops; use the guide to spotting unlicensed Pokémon products if you are unsure about a specific listing.
A Pokémon controller as a holiday gift
The Enhanced Wired line starts under $20 for some designs, which makes it one of the more accessible officially licensed Pokémon accessories in this price range. Designs like Pikachu Arcade, Charizard Firestorm, and Pikachu vs. Meowth tend to appeal to players who already own Switch hardware and want something that reflects their favorite Pokémon.
For Switch 2 owners on your list, the Advantage Wireless Mega Evolutions is the premium choice. It is a hardware upgrade wrapped in a Pokémon theme. For anyone still on original Switch, a wired Enhanced controller or the Ultra Ball wireless both land in the $20–$60 range.
