Temporal Forces Build and Battle Box (2024): Contents and MSRP
By Dexhaul Team · October 9, 2026 · 5 min read
The Temporal Forces Build and Battle Box contains a 40-card preconstructed deck, four Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet: Temporal Forces booster packs, and one randomized foil promo card. The original MSRP was $14.99, distributed exclusively at local game store prerelease events ahead of the set's March 22, 2024 retail launch.
Secondary market prices have settled in the $33–$65 range as of October 2026. At the $33 floor, that works out to $8.23 per Temporal Forces pack, which still undercuts buying individual SV05 packs at secondary market prices.

What's inside the Temporal Forces Build and Battle Box
| Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Temporal Forces booster packs | 4 | SV05 English packs, 10 cards each |
| Preconstructed 40-card deck | 1 | Playable SV ruleset deck with Trainer and Energy cards |
| Randomized foil promo card | 1 | One of several Temporal Forces Pokémon with a promo stamp, per tcg.pokemon.com |
The promo card is randomized at packing; you cannot choose which variant you receive. The 40-card deck is a fixed preconstructed structure with Trainer cards, basic Energy, and a curated mix of Pokémon. It is not a sampling of the main set's pack pull rates.
Temporal Forces is the first English SV-era set to merge two Japanese releases into one product. The Japanese source sets are Wild Force (sv5M) and Cyber Judge (sv5R), each built around the Ancient and Future Pokémon mechanics respectively. The English B&B Box pulls from the combined 162-card main set, giving access to both Ancient and Future cards in the same four packs. A Japanese Wild Force or Cyber Judge B&B Box would draw only from its respective 71-card source set.
Like other SV-era prerelease kits from Paradox Rift onward, the Temporal Forces B&B Box does not include dice, a damage counter kit, or a PTCGO code card. The product is streamlined to the three core items: packs, deck, and promo.
MSRP and price per pack
| Metric | At MSRP ($14.99) | At floor ($32.90, Oct 2026) |
|---|---|---|
| Booster packs included | 4 | 4 |
| Cost per pack | $3.75 | $8.23 |
| Promo card + 40-card deck | Included | Included |
At its $14.99 MSRP, the B&B Box was the cheapest per-pack entry point across the entire Temporal Forces sealed lineup, including the Elite Trainer Box and the 36-pack Booster Box. Even at the secondary market floor of $32.90 in October 2026, four Temporal Forces packs plus a 40-card deck and a promo card remain a reasonable value entry into the set.
The $14.99 MSRP was only available at LGS prerelease events before the March 22, 2024 retail launch, per the Serebii Temporal Forces card index. The product was never sold at mass-market retailers at MSRP, so every current listing is secondary market. That channel exclusivity explains why the secondary floor sits above twice the launch price.
The Build and Battle Display Box: 10 kits
The Build and Battle Display Box bundles ten individual B&B kits into a single sealed case. Each kit inside is identical to the standalone version: 40-card deck, four booster packs, and one randomized promo. A display box yields 40 Temporal Forces packs total, plus ten decks and ten promos across multiple promo variants.
LGS stores typically received Display Boxes for distribution at prerelease events. A sealed Display Box today is a collector item rather than an event product. At $429.95, the cost per kit works out to $42.99, consistent with the standalone kit secondary market range.
How the B&B Box compares to the ETB
| Product | SV05 Packs | Extras | MSRP | MSRP per pack |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Build and Battle Box | 4 | 40-card deck, 1 foil promo | $14.99 | $3.75 |
| Elite Trainer Box (Walking Wake / Iron Leaves) | 9 | 65 sleeves, dice, coin, energy, deck box, guide | $49.99 | $5.55 |
| Booster Box (36 packs) | 36 | None | $143.64 | $3.99 |
At MSRP the B&B Box had the lowest per-pack cost in the entire Temporal Forces lineup. The ETB adds 5 more packs plus a substantial accessories bundle, but at more than three times the MSRP. The full Booster Box offers the largest pack volume and the best per-pack rate at secondary market once B&B pricing drifts above $28. For a player who wants to open packs and have a ready-to-play deck immediately, the B&B Box was the designed entry product.
Using the 40-card deck
The preconstructed deck is designed for play at Kitchen Table format and LGS prerelease events. It follows the full Scarlet & Violet ruleset, including ex Pokémon mechanics. A player who picks up this kit at a prerelease can open the four booster packs and then step into a game with the included deck immediately.
Pokémon TCG Temporal Forces Build & Battle Kit: 40-Card Deck + 4 Booster Packs
$112.00 USD
The deck is built from a fixed card list, not assembled from the four included packs. Buyers sometimes expect the 40 cards to come from opening packs, but the deck is preconstructed, separated from the booster packs in the packaging. Adding cards from the four booster packs to the deck after opening is a standard prerelease activity for new players.
