Night Wanderer (SV6a, 2024): English Equivalent and Import Guide
By Dexhaul Team · October 9, 2026 · 6 min read
Night Wanderer (SV6a) is the Japanese Pokémon TCG mini-set that became Shrouded Fable in English. Japan got the set on June 7, 2024; the English release followed 56 days later on August 2, 2024.
Every card in Night Wanderer debuted in Shrouded Fable, giving this pair a clean one-to-one mapping. That is different from the SV5a/SV6 situation, where Crimson Haze and Mask of Change both fed into a single English set (Twilight Masquerade). Here the two sets are true equivalents.
Below is the full set mapping, box format comparison, card crosswalk, and the JP-vs-EN decision framework.
Set mapping: SV6a to English
Night Wanderer is a Scarlet and Violet era mini-set, denoted by the "a" suffix in the JP set code. It is the fifth mini-set of the SV era, following SV1a, SV2a, SV3a, and SV5a. Unlike SV5a Crimson Haze, which merged with SV6 Mask of Change to form a larger English release, Night Wanderer maps directly and exclusively to Shrouded Fable.
| JP Set | Code | JP Release | EN Set | EN Release | JP-to-EN Gap |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Night Wanderer | SV6a | June 7, 2024 | Shrouded Fable | August 2, 2024 | 56 days |
The 56-day gap is near the short end of the SV-era range. Crimson Haze (SV5a) took 63 days to become Twilight Masquerade; Raging Surf (SV3a) took about 42 days to appear in Paradox Rift. For the broader SV era JP-to-EN mapping, the full SV era guide covers every set pair from SV1S through the Mega Evolution era.
The one-to-one mapping means completionists working in both languages share the same card pool.
Finishing the JP set run gives you a clear preview of every card Shrouded Fable contains.

What changes between the JP and EN box
Both sets cover the same cards, but the physical box experience is different. Night Wanderer uses the standard Japanese mini-set format: 30 packs per box, five cards per pack, totaling 150 cards per box. Shrouded Fable uses the English standard: 36 packs per box, ten cards per pack, totaling 360 cards per box.
| Night Wanderer SV6a (JP) | Shrouded Fable (EN) | |
|---|---|---|
| Packs per booster box | 30 | 36 |
| Cards per pack | 5 | 10 |
| Total cards per box | 150 | 360 |
| Promo card in booster box | None | None (ETB includes Pecharunt promo) |
| EN MSRP per pack | n/a | $4.99 |
The key difference here is the Pecharunt promo card. The Japanese booster box does not include it. The English Shrouded Fable Elite Trainer Box contains a full-art Pecharunt ex foil promo exclusive to that product format.
Featured cards in Night Wanderer
Night Wanderer centers on the Indigo Disk DLC storyline from Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Pecharunt ex is the cover Pokémon: the mythical Pokémon introduced as the secret antagonist of The Indigo Disk. The Limitless TCG SV6a crosswalk shows all Night Wanderer cards appearing in Shrouded Fable with no spillover to other English sets.
| Featured Card | JP Source | English Print | Rarity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pecharunt ex | SV6a | Shrouded Fable | Double Rare ex |
| Okidogi ex | SV6a | Shrouded Fable | Double Rare ex |
| Munkidori ex | SV6a | Shrouded Fable | Double Rare ex |
| Fezandipiti ex | SV6a | Shrouded Fable | Double Rare ex |
| Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex | SV6a | Shrouded Fable | Double Rare ex |
The Loyal Three (Okidogi, Munkidori, Fezandipiti) also appeared as Double Rares in SV5a Crimson Haze. Night Wanderer adds them again alongside Pecharunt, completing the Hidden Treasure of Area Zero villain group. The full rarity breakdown uses standard SV physical rarity symbols: double star for Double Rare, silver star pair for Ultra Rare, gold star for Illustration Rare and above.
Japanese or English Four questions to settle it
Price per pack
Night Wanderer SV6a booster boxes are observed at $90.00 to $101.00 USD from independent importers as of October 2026, putting the per-pack floor at around $3.00 per pack for 30 packs. The English Shrouded Fable booster box runs $194.00 and up for 36 packs, a per-pack floor of roughly $5.39.
Per card, the Japanese version delivers more cards per dollar at current storefront prices. The trade-off is smaller batches: 150 cards per JP box versus 360 per EN box.
Play legality
Japanese cards cannot be used in English-format sanctioned play. Tournament rules require all cards to match the event's official language, covering League Challenges, Regionals, and Nationals. Competitive players who need Shrouded Fable cards for English play must buy the English release.
Language and artwork
Night Wanderer card text and set information are in Japanese. The artwork and foil treatments match the English prints exactly. No artwork is language-exclusive in this set.
Some collectors prefer Japanese cards for the cleaner card layout and smaller card text. The Night Wanderer booster box comes without any promo card, so JP buyers do not receive the Pecharunt ex foil that the English ETB format includes.
Grading
PSA, BGS, and CGC all grade Japanese Pokémon cards. The process is identical to English.
Japanese Night Wanderer cards are viable for grading when the card has strong collector demand, but the secondary market for graded JP SV-era cards is narrower than for English equivalents. Buyers grading for resale should factor in that smaller buyer pool.
For buyers who want the Pecharunt ex card pool without a full box commitment, the Shrouded Fable Booster Bundle (6 packs, no accessories) is the entry point at around $63.00 observed in October 2026. The ETB is the better value per-pack if you also need sleeves, dice, and accessories.
A similar import decision applies across the SV era. The Crimson Haze (SV5a) import guide covers the same JP/EN framework for the set that preceded Night Wanderer, including the two-to-one Twilight Masquerade consolidation that makes SV5a structurally different from SV6a.
