30th Celebration Poster Collection: Kanto's Legendary Birds Are the Promo Trio Nobody Talked About

The promo cards for two of the quieter 30th Celebration products were confirmed via PokeGuardian this week, and the Poster Collection's lineup is the more surprising of the two.

The 30th Celebration Poster Collection ships September 16 with foil promos for Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres. All three Kanto Legendary Birds, in the same box.

That is not a combination that has shown up in any other 30th Celebration product. While the Elite Trainer Box comes with a Nidorina full-art foil and the ex Boxes each pair a standard and oversized promo for their featured Pokémon, the Poster Collection stands alone in delivering an entire legendary trio simultaneously.

The second confirmation is the 30th Celebration Tech Sticker Collection Wave 2, which carries an Alolan Exeggutor foil promo. Wave 1 (Lucario) had been known since the product was announced. The Alolan Exeggutor design for Wave 2 was not confirmed until now.

Together, these two reveals complete the promo picture for September 16 and give collectors a clearer reason to consider both products beyond the pack count.

Why the Kanto Legendary Birds trio matters

Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres are three of the most storied Pokémon in the franchise. Articuno, the ice-type bird, first appeared in Pokémon Red and Blue in 1996 and has anchored collector releases ever since. The same is true of Zapdos and Moltres: all three have been TCG staples since the original Base Set era.

Getting foil versions of all three in a single product is unusual. Most anniversary products focus on a single featured Pokémon or a pair. The Poster Collection's promo trio gives the legendary birds a dedicated spotlight that they do not have anywhere else in the 30th Celebration lineup.

These promos are not pullable from booster packs. The only way to get these specific foil cards in 30th Celebration packaging is through the Poster Collection. That makes the $44.99 retail price carry more weight than the pack count alone suggests.

What is in the Poster Collection

The Poster Collection format is a compact product: three booster packs, a large illustrated foil poster, and the confirmed promo trio (Articuno foil, Zapdos foil, Moltres foil).

The three packs draw from the same card pool as the Elite Trainer Box and Ultra-Premium Collections. That means every pull is live for the Futuristic Rare Mew ex and Mewtwo ex cards that have become the chase targets of the set. Three packs is a small sample, but the product is not designed around pack volume.

The poster is the draw for the display-minded collector. It is large-format and printed on the foil stock consistent with other recent Pokémon TCG Poster Collections.

Wave 1 ships September 16. Wave 2 is confirmed for November 2026 with different artwork.

Multiple retailers have the Poster Collection available for pre-order between $44 and $47. At $44.99, the per-pack cost is roughly $15 for three packs plus the Legendary Bird trio and the poster. That is a different value equation than any other product at that price in the September 16 lineup.

Tech Sticker Collection Wave 2: Alolan Exeggutor confirmed

The 30th Celebration Tech Sticker Collection format packages three booster packs, a large sticker sheet, and a foil promotional card. Wave 1 features Lucario.

Wave 2's promo is Alolan Exeggutor. The Alolan form debuted in Pokémon Sun and Moon and is a fixture of Gen 7 collector nostalgia: the dramatically tall palm tree design has appeared across merchandise categories but has seen relatively limited spotlight in recent TCG promotional releases.

Both waves launch September 16 at $34.95, the lowest price point in the entire 30th Celebration physical lineup. If three packs and a promo are enough for a collector, the Tech Sticker Collections are the accessible path into the set without committing to the Elite Trainer Box or Booster Bundle.

Wave 2 gives Alola fans a direct reason to pick it over Wave 1. Lucario and Alolan Exeggutor target different collector preferences. That is a sharper value split than most product waves offer.

How these promos fit the full September 16 product picture

The confirmed promo landscape for September 16 now looks like this: the Elite Trainer Box carries the Nidorina full-art foil, ex Boxes pair a standard and oversized promo per featured Pokémon (Greninja ex and Sylveon ex), ex Tins each carry a promo for their featured Pokémon, and the Poster Collection delivers the Kanto Legendary Bird trio.

None of these promos overlap. Each product has a distinct promo identity. The Poster Collection is the only product in the lineup where the promos cover three different Pokémon simultaneously.

The Knockout Collection at $25.99 sits below both the Poster Collection and Tech Sticker Collection on price. It includes two packs and a promotional card. Pre-order stock from Collector Store LLC is still available as of this writing.

For the completionist after every promo from the set, the Poster Collection, Tech Sticker Wave 1, Tech Sticker Wave 2, ETB, both ex Boxes, and both ex Tins each carry distinct cards. The Poster Collection's Legendary Bird trio is the only group promo in the set: three cards, one product, no duplication.

Who each product is for

The Poster Collection suits the Kanto-focused collector or anyone who wants a display piece

Three booster packs, a foil poster, and foil promos for Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres for around $45. That is a coherent pitch for the collector who grew up with the original games and wants the Legendary Birds in 30th Celebration packaging. It also works as a gift: the box presents well, the poster is immediately displayable, and the packs give the recipient something to open on launch day.

The Tech Sticker Collections suit the pack-opener on a budget or the sticker collector

$34.95 is the cheapest way to open 30th Celebration booster packs from a retail product. Three packs at that price is a reasonable entry point for anyone who wants a taste of the set without the full ETB commitment. Wave 1 (Lucario) and Wave 2 (Alolan Exeggutor) serve different Pokémon preferences.

Neither product replaces the Elite Trainer Box for the serious pull hunter

Nine packs in the ETB vs. three packs in either smaller product: the math is straightforward. The Poster Collection and Tech Sticker Collections are best treated as additions to an existing order, not substitutes for the primary product.
