30th Celebration Promo Cards: Every Product-Exclusive Card You Can't Pull From Packs
By Dexhaul Team · September 5, 2026
Every Pokémon TCG 30th Celebration product ships with at least one promo card that does not appear in standard booster packs. Knowing which promo comes with which product changes your buying decision, especially if specific cards matter to you.
This guide covers every confirmed 30th Celebration promo card: the Elite Trainer Box's full-art Nidorina, the ex Tin's single Sylveon ex foil, and the ex Boxes' two-card promo pairings for both Sylveon ex and Greninja ex. All details are sourced from Bulbapedia's 30th Celebration entry and the official Pokémon news page.
Why promo cards matter in a set like this
Promo cards are printed specifically for product bundles, not for booster packs. You cannot pull them from a standard 30th Celebration booster pack, no matter how many you open.
For collectors who want every unique card the 30th Celebration set produced, promos are a separate goal from completing the 198-card main set. Many buyers don't realize this until they've already opened their first ETB and wonder why the promo inside wasn't in the pull-rate spreadsheets they studied.
In the 30th Celebration, promos also follow the set's product split: some come standard-size only, some come in both standard and oversize foil versions. That detail matters if you're deciding between a Tin and a Box at similar price points.
The Elite Trainer Box promo: Nidorina
The 30th Celebration Elite Trainer Box includes one full-art foil promo card featuring Nidorina. That is the product's exclusive promo: not Mew ex, not Pikachu, not Charizard ex.
Nidorina's inclusion is a deliberate nod to the original Pokémon Blue version box art, where Nidoran and its evolutions were among the most visible supporting Pokémon. As a full-art foil, the Nidorina promo has a distinct finish from the main set's Futuristic Rare (FUR) cards, making it visually distinguishable in a binder.
Beyond the promo, the ETB also includes 9 booster packs, 16 foil Basic Energy cards, 65 card sleeves, a player's guide to the expansion, damage-counter dice, a coin-flip die, a plastic coin, a collector's box with 6 dividers, and a code card for Pokémon Trading Card Game Live.
At $179.95, the ETB is the most accessory-rich entry in the 30th Celebration lineup. If you want the Nidorina promo and the full complement of game accessories, the ETB is your only path.
The ex Tin promo: Sylveon ex, standard foil only
The 30th Celebration ex Tin [Sylveon ex] includes one foil promo card featuring Sylveon ex, plus four booster packs.
This is a standard-size foil promo: the same dimensions as a regular TCG card, playable in a deck, and storage-compatible with standard card sleeves. There is no oversize version in the Tin. If oversize foils matter to your display setup, the Tin is not the product you want.
At $59.99, the Tin comes in at $10 below the Sylveon ex Box. If you specifically want the Sylveon ex promo card and prefer the collectible tin container as a display piece, the Tin delivers that at a lower entry point. The tin format is also a more compact display item than a cardboard box.
The ex Box promos: two cards per character
The Sylveon ex Box and the Greninja ex Box each include two promo cards: one standard-size foil and one oversize foil of the same character.
This two-card promo format is meaningful for completionists. The oversize foil is a collector-format card: it shares the same artwork as the standard promo but is printed at roughly 2x standard card dimensions. Oversize cards do not fit in standard binders, but they are a common display piece for collectors who mount cards vertically or use oversized sleeves and frames.
Both Boxes include four booster packs alongside the two promos. The Greninja ex Box is priced at $49.99, making it the most affordable ex Box option. The Sylveon ex Box sits at $69.99, a $20 premium over Greninja for the same product structure: four packs plus standard and oversize promos.
Neither Box includes the tin container that the ex Tin format does. You're paying for packs and promos, not a display vessel.
What you actually need to collect every promo
To hold every distinct promo card the 30th Celebration lineup produces, you need at minimum: one ETB (Nidorina), one ex Tin (Sylveon ex standard), one Sylveon ex Box (Sylveon ex standard plus oversize), and one Greninja ex Box (Greninja ex standard plus oversize).
That's five unique promo cards across four products. Buying only booster packs gets you zero of them.
For most buyers, the completionist promo goal is a secondary consideration rather than a primary one. If you want specific FUR-tier chase cards (Mew ex, Pikachu ex SIR, Mewtwo ex), you're pulling for those from booster packs regardless of what promo sits alongside them. The promo is a bonus.
Where it becomes a primary consideration: if you're a character collector who focuses on Sylveon or Greninja specifically, the product you buy determines whether you have all three printings of their 30th Celebration promo card (standard from the Tin, standard from the Box, and oversize from the Box). All three carry different product stamps.
Promo card vs FUR tier: how the two goals interact
The 30th Celebration promo cards and the Futuristic Rare pull goal are independent collector targets. Neither locks you into or out of the other.
Opening the ETB gives you 9 packs plus the Nidorina promo. You might also pull a Pikachu ex SIR in those nine packs, or you might not. The promo is guaranteed; the pull is not.
Opening the ex Boxes gives you four packs each plus their respective promos. Again: guaranteed promo, variable pull results from the packs included.
Buyers who are targeting specific FUR pulls should treat the promos as incidental. Buyers who care about the Nidorina card or the oversize Sylveon ex specifically should plan their product purchases around promo inclusion, not just pack count.
Pre-order timing with 11 days to launch
September 16 is eleven days away. Specialty-channel pre-orders for the ETB and ex Boxes/Tins are allocated products: once a seller's allocation is filled, their listing closes. Mass retail products (Knockout Collection, Battle Decks) do not face the same pre-order pressure.
If you want any of the promo cards described above, you need a product that contains them. Individual booster packs do not carry promos. Buying only singles from the secondary market after launch will not get you promos either, unless a seller specifically lists the promo card separately.
The ex Boxes and ex Tins are specialty-channel products. Pre-order windows on these close earlier than mass retail restocks open. The time to decide which promo products you want is now, before launch-day allocation closes.
