Reshiram Collector's Guide 2026: From Celebrations Budget Pick to White Flare Trophy

Reshiram's card ladder runs from $2 to $380 in 2026, and every tier is in stock right now.

The Pokémon Black mascot spent years without a modern high-end print. The Japanese SV11W White Flare expansion changed that by delivering both a Special Illustration Rare and an Ultra Rare in the same set, separated by roughly $170 in price for identical game text. That gap is the defining collector tension for this character right now.

This guide covers every tier from the cheapest raw Reshiram available to the White Flare trophy card, organized by spend level rather than by release era. Pick the tier that fits your collection intent.

What Reshiram Is in the TCG

Reshiram is a Dragon and Fire-type legendary introduced in Pokémon Black in 2010, the game's version mascot and emblem of truth in the Unova Tao trio. According to Bulbapedia, it serves as the narrative counterpart to Zekrom, which embodies ideals.

The Black and White TCG era (2011–2016) produced Reshiram's foundational prints: the BW base set Holo Rare and a Full Art EX from Next Destinies. The Celebrations set (2021) reprinted the original artwork at $1–$2 for the franchise's 25th anniversary. That reprint is still the cheapest point of entry for this character.

White Flare (2025–2026) is the first expansion to give Reshiram both a SIR and UR in one release. The character's modern collector ceiling now lives in a single Japanese set.

Entry Tier: Celebrations and Shining Fates ($1–$4)

Two prints under $5 are worth keeping at any budget level, and they serve different display purposes.

Reshiram 002/025 from the Celebrations expansion (2021) reproduces the original Black and White base set artwork directly at $1–$2 NM. Pokémon's 25th anniversary set reprinted 25 historically significant cards with their original art intact.

This card is the most direct callback to the 2011 BW Reshiram at a fraction of vintage prices. It needs no grading justification and is easy to find in multiples.

The Shining Fates Amazing Rare (17/72, $2–$4) is the stronger display piece at this price range. Amazing Rares are exclusive to the Sword and Shield era: the card background uses an energized, multi-tone terrain pattern found in no other era. Reshiram has exactly one Amazing Rare in English.

For a few dollars more than the Celebrations print, the Shining Fates AR looks distinct from every other Reshiram card in a binder. Neither card benefits from grading at this tier; PSA submission costs outpace raw value for both.

The Illustration Tier: N's Reshiram from Journey Together ($14–$25)

N's Reshiram 167/159 from SV09 Journey Together (2025) is the only card in the $14–$25 range that warrants attention.

The card sits at position 167 in a set with a 159-card base count, placing it in the Illustration Rare tier. That tier uses extended full-art illustration treatment. What sets this specific card apart from every prior Reshiram print: it's the first to carry N's name as the Pokémon's trainer partner.

In the games, N is the character who wields Reshiram in Pokémon Black and Zekrom in Pokémon White depending on which version the player chose. Most Reshiram cards prior to this one show the legendary in isolation. Journey Together's "N's Pokémon" card series treated the story connection directly, and the result is a card that resonates distinctly with players who remember Black's climax.

Raw unstamped copies sell for $14–$20. Stamped promo-sealed versions reach $25.

The stamped format comes sealed from a specific Japanese product. That premium is a condition premium, not a grading markup, so the two versions serve different collecting intentions.

The English Sealed Route: Salamence ex and Reshiram ex Premium Collection ($62–$130)

For collectors who want an English-language sealed product featuring Reshiram, the Salamence ex and Reshiram ex Premium Collection is the current in-stock option.

Hobby-channel sellers list it from $62 to $130 depending on seller and region. It contains English Reshiram ex promo cards alongside Salamence ex. This is the sealed path for collectors who prefer English product or want the ungraded promos in display-box format rather than loose singles.

The sealed collection does not replace the Japanese White Flare SIR or UR for collectors focused on the highest-tier Reshiram singles. Those cards exist only in Japanese as of September 2026. The Premium Collection and the import singles serve different parts of a Reshiram collection.

The Japanese SIR: White Flare 166/086 ($199–$214)

Reshiram ex 166/086 from Scarlet and Violet: White Flare is the Special Illustration Rare for this expansion.

Special Illustration Rares in the SV era use full-art illustration extending to the card borders, with a higher-detail treatment than the standard Double Rare tier. This is the first SIR-tier card in Reshiram's TCG history. Multiple hobby sellers list this card at $199–$214 raw NM, placing it in the mid-tier modern collector range for this character.

White Flare is a Japanese-only expansion at time of writing. English equivalents have not been announced. Importers are the primary supply channel in English-speaking markets, which contributes to the price floor for these cards sitting above comparable English SIR listings.

Grading is worth considering at this tier. There are no established PSA or CGC population reports for this card in English-speaking markets, since it is a recent Japanese import. Any graded premium remains speculative until a pop report develops.

The Trophy Tier: White Flare UR 174/086 ($380+)

The Ultra Rare Reshiram ex, numbered 174/086 in the same White Flare set, is the trophy ceiling for this character in 2026.

Ultra Rares in SV sets carry a gold card border treatment. UR is the highest rarity tier printed within the expansion, one level above SIR. The 174/086 lists at $380 at market floor from English-speaking import sellers, with some listings reaching $450–$575 depending on seller markup and condition.

$380.00 USD

The gap between the SIR 166/086 ($199–$214) and the UR 174/086 ($380) is roughly 80–90% in price for cards with identical game text in the same expansion. The entire difference is the gold border treatment and the UR rarity designation.

This pattern is consistent across the SV era: when a Pokémon has both a SIR and UR in the same set, the UR consistently commands a significant multiple of the SIR's price. Reshiram's White Flare pair follows the same structure.

Why White Flare and Black Bolt Matter for the Reshiram Collector

White Flare (SV11W) and Black Bolt (SV11B) are companion expansions released simultaneously in Japanese.

White Flare centers on Reshiram; Black Bolt centers on Zekrom. The set names directly mirror the version-exclusive legendaries from Pokémon Black and White in a way that parallels the original 2010 game naming convention.

The White Flare set is not just a set that happens to include Reshiram. It is the expansion named for Reshiram's defining characteristic, built around this character as its anchor.

For a collector building a complete Reshiram spread, White Flare is the definitive modern expansion. Both the SIR and UR exist within it, so a matched-tier collection is achievable without sourcing cards across multiple sets or eras.

The Shining Fates Amazing Rare remains the most underrated card in the Reshiram lineup. At $2–$4, it uses a print treatment unique to the Sword and Shield era, making it visually distinct from every other Reshiram card in English at a fraction of any SV-era price. Starting with that card and building toward the White Flare prints is the collector ladder this character now supports.
