Rotom Collector's Guide 2026: Six Forms, One Set's $55 Gap, and the Complete Plush Line

Rotom is the only Pokémon whose five alternate forms each have their own individually numbered Ultra Rare card in a single TCG set.

That distinction comes from Platinum: Rising Rivals (2009), where the five appliance forms appeared as RT1 through RT5: Fan Rotom (RT1), Frost Rotom (RT2), Heat Rotom (RT3), Mow Rotom (RT4), and Wash Rotom (RT5). Each is its own card with its own price, its own pull rate, and its own market. Completing Rotom in that era alone requires buying five separate singles.

Rotom is an Electric/Ghost-type introduced in Diamond and Pearl. It occupies household appliances: a microwave for the Heat form, a washing machine for Wash, a refrigerator for Frost, an electric fan for Fan, and a lawn mower for Mow. Each form carries a different secondary type in the TCG: Heat is Fire-type, Wash is Water-type, Frost is Ice-type, Fan is Flying-type, and Mow is Grass-type.

The Rising Rivals RT cards are all technically the same rarity tier. The market does not treat them that way.

The Heat Rotom Premium

Heat Rotom RT3 is the form to target if you want the highest-demand Rising Rivals Rotom. NM copies list from $27 to $85 across active sellers, with the reverse-holo print commanding the upper end of that range.

Fan Rotom RT1 runs $20 to $30 for a comparable NM copy. That's a price gap of up to $55 on cards sharing an identical rarity designation from the same 2009 set.

Collector demand for the Heat form runs higher than the others. Heat Rotom RT3 is consistently the hardest of the five to find in near-mint condition at the lower price points, which drives the spread.

If you're building the full Rising Rivals RT set, lead with Heat. The other four forms will be easier to source once you have the anchor card.

Mid-Tier Vintage: Frost, Mow, and Wash

The remaining three Rising Rivals forms land between Fan and Heat in pricing, and each is a genuine 2009 Ultra Rare with the same real-world scarcity.

Frost Rotom RT2 runs $27 to $52 raw NM. Mow Rotom RT4 lists from $30 to $40. Wash Rotom RT5 ranges from $28 upward depending on listing and currency, with some CAD-priced listings reaching $64.80 CAD.

Frost is the most accessible mid-tier entry point for collectors who want form variety without the Heat premium. It sits in a price band where a patient buyer can still find clean copies below $35.

None of the five forms has a 1st Edition designation: the Platinum era used Unlimited printing only. The reverse-holo foil treatment is the main condition differentiator to watch across listings, and it's worth paying for on cards you intend to hold long-term.

The Modern Rotom Stack

Outside Rising Rivals, Rotom has three meaningful modern TCG touchpoints worth knowing before you buy.

Rotom V (Crown Zenith 045/159) gave the character its first dedicated V-era Full Art treatment. Raw NM copies list at $3.99, making it one of the more accessible Full Art V cards in the SWSH format for a character with this much collector history.

Rotom ex appeared in ME02: Phantasmal Flames, a Japanese 2024 set. The Double Rare base copy (029/094) lists at $1 to $2, while the Special Illustration Rare (SIR 126/094) runs $16 to $23.

That's an 11x price spread within one set: same character, entirely different price tier driven by the full-bleed SIR treatment.

The SIR is the modern Rotom card worth prioritizing from that set.

For English SV-era collectors, Rotom 197/182 in SV10: Destined Rivals is the current entry point. It's an Illustration Rare, Rotom's first IR-tier English card in the Scarlet and Violet era, and it lists at $5 to $6 raw.

Six Plush to Complete the Set

The Pokémon fit line is the only Pokémon merchandise line to produce all six Rotom forms as separate plush: base Rotom, Heat, Wash, Frost, Fan, and Mow.

No other Pokémon has six distinct form variants in the Pokémon fit lineup.

The character's appliance designs each map to a unique physical shape, which makes them visually distinct from each other in a way most form-variant plush are not. A shelf of all six reads as six different characters, not six repaints of one design.

Base Rotom fit lists at $15 to $25 depending on seller. The five appliance forms run $17 to $26 each from importers. Frost Rotom fit is the most affordable appliance-form entry point, with listings starting around $12 to $15 at Japan Figure Store.

Completing all six requires $90 to $150 depending on which sellers you use and how you mix importer options. The Pokémon fit plush are Pokémon Center Japan exclusives with no Western retail equivalent. Importer listings through Ichiba Japan and Collector Store are the primary supply channel, and all six forms are currently in stock across multiple active sellers.
