Sobble and Inteleon: The Galar Water Starter Collector Guide for 2026

The Sobble line has one of the widest price spreads in the Sword and Shield TCG era.

The exact same character is on a $0.25 card and a $31 card right now. Only one of those is what collectors are chasing, and the reason comes down to a single piece of artwork.

Sobble is Galar's Water-type starter, introduced in Pokémon Sword and Shield. Its final evolution, Inteleon, is built around a spy and marksman identity.

According to the official Pokédex, Inteleon can fire its moves at targets over 30 miles away with pinpoint accuracy, using a membrane over its eyes as a precision scope. That identity flows directly into the card collectors care about most.

Sobble: The Entry-Tier Cards

The base Sobble cards are commons and not collector targets. The Sword and Shield Base Set Sobble (054/202) trades for under $0.50 and exists to complete binders, not to anchor a collection.

Two promos change the picture. The Sobble Black Star Promo SWSH073 is a full holographic prerelease promo from the Sword and Shield era, currently available for around $6. It was distributed as part of the Build and Battle kits at local game stores, not inserted into booster packs, which gives it a more controlled supply than standard set prints.

The McDonald's 25th Anniversary Sobble (024/25) from 2021 is the more accessible option at $2 to $4. It is one of the cleanest holographic Sobble cards in English: McDonald's promos were sealed in foil inside Happy Meals, so they tend to arrive in better condition than equivalent promos that lived in card sleeves or binders from day one.

In 2026, the line picked up a current-print card. The Mega Evolution Promos Sobble (#054) retails at around $5, making it the only Sobble print from the current era. For collectors who want the character represented in modern product, it is the entry point.

Drizzile: The Evolution TCG Skipped

Drizzile is Sobble's first evolution, and it barely exists as a collector target.

The character has only standard common and uncommon prints across the Sword and Shield sets. No Full Art, no holo promo, no Shiny Vault entry.

Drizzile fills an evolutionary bridge role with no premium upside in the English card pool. The Pokémon Company generally reserves Full Art and alternate art treatments for final-stage evolutions and legendary Pokémon: Drizzile, as a mid-stage evolution, was passed over at every turn.

This means the Sobble line is effectively two collector tiers with a gap in the middle. Sobble at the entry level, Inteleon at the mid-to-premium tier, and Drizzile sitting between them with no reason to seek it out.

Inteleon's TCG Career: V Through VMAX

Inteleon V debuted in Rebel Clash (2020), the second Sword and Shield expansion. The standard V (049/192) trades for under $2.

The Full Art (180/192) is worth noting at $4.50. The V form anchored the evolution line in competitive builds across the Sword and Shield era. The Full Art's secondary market price consistently undervalues its place in the character's card history.

Inteleon VMAX debuted in Rebel Clash (050/192), alongside Rillaboom VMAX and Cinderace VMAX. All three Galar final-stage starters reached their VMAX form in the same booster set.

The Rebel Clash VMAX trades for under $3. Serebii's TCG card database confirms a second Inteleon VMAX in Fusion Strike (079/264), a separate card with different art released in November 2021.

Shining Fates gave Inteleon a Shiny Vault entry (SV027/SV122) at $6.50 to $7. The shiny coloration renders the normally teal Inteleon in a muted blue-grey. Print runs for Shiny Vault cards are smaller than standard set rares, which explains the mild premium.

The Alt Art: Why 266/264 Trades at 10x

The Inteleon VMAX Alternate Art (266/264) from Fusion Strike is a Secret Rare numbered beyond the set total. The art shows Inteleon bracing in a sniper stance, a single water droplet aligned through the scope membrane above its eye. It is the Pokédex description, rendered in illustrated form.

That narrative coherence is uncommon in alt art cards. Most Pokémon alt arts show action, atmosphere, or a character interaction.

Inteleon's shows proof of concept: the character doing exactly what the game says it does, in precisely the way the dex entry describes. Collectors who understand the character immediately recognize what the art is doing.

The base Fusion Strike VMAX (079/264) trades at $2.50 to $3 right now. The alt art trades at $27 to $31 across multiple independent shops.

That is a 10x spread between two cards from the same set, same print run year, differing only in the artwork. It is a direct measure of collector demand for a specific design decision.

Plush, Figures, and the Sealed Option

Inteleon's primary collector plush is the Sanei All Star Collection PP178, a 12-inch softline figure. San-ei Boeki numbered the three Galar final-stage starters consecutively in National Pokédex order: PP176 for Rillaboom, PP177 for Cinderace, and PP178 for Inteleon.

They were planned as a coordinated release trio. The Inteleon plush captures the character's lean silhouette and teal coloring accurately, and runs $29 to $29.99.

Sobble's plush catalog is broader and starts cheaper. The standard 8-inch Sobble plush runs $12 to $20 across multiple sellers. The Sanei All Star Collection Sobble (PP151) is the quality reference at $19.99: it is an earlier, separate release from the Inteleon trio, covering the starter form rather than the final evolution.

Funko Pop #949 Sobble is the figure option for this line, with prices from $10.99 to $15 USD depending on the seller. There is currently no Inteleon Funko Pop in the mainline Pokémon series, making Sobble the only vinyl figure entry point for the evolution line.

The Inteleon VMAX League Battle Deck is a sealed product argument. It is still findable at $23 to $28 and contains a full 60-card competitive deck built around Inteleon VMAX. For collectors who want a sealed box with original packaging alongside their singles, it is the cheapest sealed product that puts an Inteleon VMAX in the box.

Choosing Your Entry Point

The Sobble line gives collectors three distinct entry points at very different prices.

For TCG entry under $10, the McDonald's 25th Anniversary Sobble ($2 to $4) and the Shining Fates Shiny Vault Inteleon ($6.50 to $7) are the picks: both are holo prints, both are clean, and neither requires a real budget commitment.

For the Inteleon VMAX Alternate Art (266/264), the $27 to $31 price is consistent across sellers right now. This is the card the line is known for in collector circles. The base VMAX at $2.50 gives the visual without the art story: it is the right call for binder display, not the same call for a graded slab or a showcase piece.

The Inteleon VMAX League Battle Deck is the sealed option. At $23 to $28, it is the cheapest way to own the VMAX in original packaging. It also works as a functional product, which is worth something if the sealed value matters to you.

For merchandise, the 8-inch Sobble plush at $12 to $20 is the most accessible physical piece. The Sanei Inteleon plush (PP178) at $29 to $29.99 is the quality entry for the final evolution, and it belongs to a numbered Sanei trio that makes sense to collect alongside Rillaboom (PP176) and Cinderace (PP177).
