Goodra Collector's Guide 2026: The Kalos Rain Dragon Before Legends Z-A

Goodra is Kalos's only pseudo-legendary, and it never got a Mega Evolution.

That combination puts it in a unique position heading into the October 16 launch of Pokémon Legends: Z-A, which returns the series to Lumiose City for the first time since 2013. Goodra's evolution chain begins with Goomy, the weakest Dragon-type by base stat total in the series (300 BST), and ends at 600 BST after one of the most environment-dependent evolutions in the games: Sliggoo must level up in the rain to become Goodra. The payoff is the strongest Dragon-type in Kalos with no form evolution competing for collector attention, unlike Dragonite's rivalry with Mega Dragonite speculation or Garchomp's canonical Mega.

This guide covers every plush tier and TCG tier in the catalogue right now, with the structural quirk that defines Goodra collecting: the original Kalos form and the Hisuian form are two completely separate markets.

The Plush Tier

Pokémon Fit: entry point and ceiling

Goodra's flagship plush is the Pokémon Fit, a palm-sized weighted figure from Pokémon Center Japan. The same product lists across multiple importers at $22.00 (Yeti Gaming) to $30.00 (Poke Merch Market), with the floor at Ichiba Japan ($24.00) and Collector Store ($24.99). That $8 spread is pure seller markup with no product difference between the listings.

The Fit is notable as both the entry point and the ceiling for original Goodra merchandise in Western markets. There is no large Poké Plush, no dedicated Pokédoll, and no plush specific to the anime-era Ash's Goodra storyline from the XY series. If you want a Goodra plush without importing directly from Japan, the Fit covers the full range.

Hisuian Goodra: a different form, a different product tier

The Steel/Dragon Hisuian Goodra, introduced in Pokémon Legends: Arceus in January 2022, has its own plush tier entirely. The 15-inch Pokémon Center Japan plush, now distributed by importers like Select Anime at $76.99, is a larger collector-grade item rather than a palm-sized companion piece.

The two plush forms are not substitutes for each other. Hisuian Goodra's design is visually distinct: a hard metallic shell replaces the soft dragon body of the original form. The price gap ($24 vs $76.99) reflects both the size difference and the limited-channel distribution of the Legends: Arceus product line.

TCG: Two Forms, Two Collector Markets

This is the structural fact every Goodra TCG collector needs. The original Kalos Goodra (#706 standard form) has appeared in English TCG sets as a Holo Rare or lower in every era since 2014. There is no English GX, V, VMAX, VSTAR, or ex card for the original form through September 2026.

The Hisuian form, by contrast, received a V designation in Lost Origin (SWSH11, 2022) and a Full Art Ultra Rare at 187/196. That makes Hisuian Goodra the only version of the species with a premium English art treatment, despite being a regional variant introduced eight years after the original. The two forms share a Pokédex number but occupy completely separate collector tiers.

The XY era base cards

Goodra's first TCG appearance was XY Flashfire (May 2014), card 74/106, as a Holo Rare. The same era produced the Phantom Forces print (November 2014), card 77/119. Both trade at $2.00–$2.10 raw NM today.

At that price, these two XY Holo Rares represent the complete English collector floor for the original Kalos Goodra. Later sets (Guardians Rising 96/145, Fusion Strike 197/264) added additional Holo and Rare prints, but none crossed into the premium rarity tiers. The XY base cards hold their floor without downward pressure from a chase variant in the same set.

Hisuian Goodra V and the premium ceiling

The premium ceiling for Goodra in English sits entirely in the Hisuian form. Hisuian Goodra V 187/196 from Lost Origin (SWSH11, September 2022) is the Full Art Ultra Rare, listing at $4.00 raw NM. The Japanese VSTAR Universe set (2022) also includes a Hisuian Goodra Art Rare at 196/172, carrying the above-set numbering structure of the Illustration Rare tier in SV-era terms.

The type-change matters for the TCG as well. Hisuian Goodra V uses Metal Energy and has a Steel typing on the card.

It is not interchangeable in a deck with any original Goodra print from the XY or SM era. Two different deck archetypes, two different collector ladders, from the same Pokédex entry.

The Legends Z-A Window

Pokémon Legends: Z-A launches October 16, 2026, returning the mainline series to Lumiose City for the first time in thirteen years. Kalos is back in the spotlight, and Goodra is the region's only pseudo-legendary.

Goodra's plush floor sits at $22–$30 right now. That is the standard pre-major-release range: cheap listings sell through first, the floor compresses, and the spread narrows. The window to pick up the Pokémon Fit at $24 (Ichiba Japan, Collector Store) is the pre-launch window, not post-launch.

On the TCG side, no new original Goodra card has been printed in the SV era through September 2026. Legends: Z-A as a game source does not automatically produce new TCG cards in the same window, but demand for XY-era Kalos Pokémon singles historically increases in the week a Kalos game releases. The XY Holo Rares at $2.00–$2.10 are not speculative purchases at that price, but they are the only English cards that exist for the original form when the release-week search interest arrives.
