Litleo and Pyroar Collector's Guide 2026: Two Genders, Two Forms, and the Kalos Window
By Dexhaul Team · October 1, 2026
Pyroar is the only Pokémon line in the franchise where gender produces two entirely different adult designs. Male and female share Pokédex number 668, yet the two adults look nothing alike.
That design contrast, and the absence of any ex or premium SV card for this line, makes plush the definitive collector format for Litleo and Pyroar. With Pokémon Legends: Z-A launching October 16 in Lumiose City, Kalos, the window for these two is open right now.
One Pokédex Entry, Two Adult Designs
Most gender dimorphism in Pokémon is cosmetic. Nidoran has separate species numbers. Meowstic has different movesets.
A handful of others have minor visual differences: a small marking, a different flower, a slightly changed tail.
Pyroar is something else entirely. The male has a bold fire mane that frames the face and chest, an imposing lion silhouette that reads as the "expected" leonine form. The female has no mane at all: swept-back flowing fire fur, a sleeker profile, and a body shape that looks like a different character.
Serebii's Pyroar entry notes identical height (4'11") and base stats for both genders. The visual designs are divergent enough that each form has separate official merchandise and separate Pokémon Fit plush SKUs.
The pre-evolution gives no indication of which adult form will appear. Litleo looks the same regardless of gender, a compact lion cub with a single orange flame tuft. Players do not see which form they get until the evolution happens at level 35.
Litleo: Starting the Collection
Litleo (#667) is a pure Fire type, introduced in Pokémon X and Y as a native to the Kalos region.
The Pokémon Fit Litleo at $24.99 (Collector Store LLC) is the standard import entry point. It captures the cub form in the Pokémon Fit palm-sized format that Pokémon Center Japan uses across the full Pokédex coverage project.
For Kalos completionists building a shelf for Legends: Z-A, Litleo pairs naturally with one or both Pyroar adult forms. It is a single SKU, since pre-evolutions in the Fit line are not gender-differentiated.
Pyroar Plush: The Case for Collecting Both Forms
The Pokémon Fit line carries Litleo, Female Pyroar, and Male Pyroar as three separate products under the same Pokédex number family. That is unusual.
For most Pokémon with gender forms, the Fit line produces a single plush that defaults to one gender. Pyroar's visual divergence is extreme enough that both adults received dedicated molds. Owning a "complete" Pyroar plush collection requires two purchases, not one.
Female Pyroar Fit runs $22.00–$24.99 depending on the importer. Ichiba Japan sits at $22.00; Collector Store LLC at $24.99.
Male Pyroar Fit ranges $22.00–$30.00 across sellers, with Poke Merch Market at the higher end. The product in each case is the same Pokémon Center Japan plush. Price gaps are import margin, not product differences.
Budget $44.00–$54.00 for both Fit forms combined from the same importer to keep shipping costs down. Buying across two different sellers increases cost per unit meaningfully once shipping is factored in.
Sitting Cuties: The Premium Plush Tier
The Sitting Cuties line produces both Pyroar forms at 5¼"–5¾", larger than the Pokémon Fit format and with a distinct sitting pose. Male Pyroar Sitting Cuties at $29.99 from Dick & Jane's is one of the more accessible prices in the current market for this tier.
Other sellers carry the same Sitting Cuties at $52.00–$55.00. The product is identical. Checking multiple importers before buying saves $20–$25 on a single Sitting Cuties purchase.
Collectors who want to show off the contrast between the two forms often display Sitting Cuties together since the standardized pose makes the visual difference between male and female most apparent at shelf height.
TCG Arc: Budget-Only, No Modern Premium Ceiling
Litleo and Pyroar have appeared in multiple English TCG sets across the XY and Sword and Shield eras. Neither has received a GX, V, VMAX, VSTAR, or ex card in English TCG through 2026.
The highest-priced in-stock Pyroar TCG card in the current catalogue is the Steam Siege Rare (XY11, 2016) at $4.00. Lost Origin (SWSH11, 2022) and Evolving Skies (SWSH07, 2021) both have Pyroar copies at $0.50–$1.00. Litleo appears in Lost Origin and Evolving Skies at $1.00.
The TCG ceiling for this line is $4.00. That is a rounding error compared to the plush tier. Collectors who want the full Litleo and Pyroar arc can assemble every in-stock TCG card for under $10.00 combined.
For collectors who want to pair the Pokédex entry without buying cards individually, the dual metal charm keychain is a cleaner option:
The Ichiba Japan Pokédex Metal Charm Keychain at $8.00 covers both Litleo (#667) and Pyroar (#668) in a single purchase, with both forms of the adult represented. It is the most compact representation of the full evolutionary line available in the current catalogue.
The Legends Z-A Window: October 2026
Litleo and Pyroar are native Kalos Pokémon, introduced in X and Y with the Kalos Pokédex.
Pokémon Legends: Z-A is set entirely within Lumiose City, the central hub of the Kalos region. The game launches October 16, which is 15 days away.
Every Kalos native Pokémon carries collector discovery momentum right now, particularly those without a modern premium card tier that could shift prices dramatically.
For Litleo and Pyroar, the Z-A window is a plush story. There is no Pyroar ex or alt art to time.
Both Pokémon Fit forms are in stock at accessible prices right now. The dual-plush goal, one male Pyroar and one female Pyroar, is achievable for under $54.00 combined from the right importers before launch.
Delta Reign ME06 EN also launches October 24, eight days after Legends: Z-A. Kalos-related collecting activity is concentrated into the next three weeks. Litleo and Pyroar are two of the Kalos characters with the strongest unique-angle at this price tier.
Find Litleo plush, Pyroar in both forms, and the full Kalos catalogue at DexHaul's Litleo and Pyroar search. Compare prices across importers before buying since identical Pokémon Center Japan products carry markedly different margins across sellers.
