Pokémon TCG September 2026: What to Buy Now, What Ships September 16, and What Comes Later
By Dexhaul Team · September 1, 2026
September 2026 has three separate Pokémon TCG buying windows, and mixing them up will cost you money or leave you waiting on a product you assumed had already shipped.
The Mega Forces and Ascended Heroes tins launched August 28. They are in stores right now. The 30th Celebration core lineup follows on September 16, per the official Pokémon announcement.
But two of the most-discussed 30th Celebration products, the Booster Bundle and the Ultra Premium Collection, do not ship on September 16. The Booster Bundle is an October arrival, and the UPC lands in November.
That distinction matters when you are budgeting across four or five products.
Window One: Buy Right Now
Mega Forces and Ascended Heroes have been on shelves since August 28. There is no pre-order wait and no launch-day scramble involved.
Mega Forces tins each include three Mega ex promo cards and six booster packs drawn from Scarlet and Violet era sets. The three tins feature Mega Darkrai ex, Mega Dragonite ex, and Mega Zeraora ex, priced around $29.95 each from independent shops. Buying all three as a set runs closer to $135 from retailers stocking the full display.
Ascended Heroes runs alongside Mega Forces as the companion set. The Mega ex Boxes, featuring Mega Emboar ex, Mega Feraligatr ex, and Mega Meganium ex, are available through independent stores now at roughly $46 to $60 depending on the seller.
These are not pre-orders. If you want Mega Evolution product in hand before September 16, this is your only path right now.
Window Two: September 16 Core Launch
The 30th Celebration set is Pokémon's flagship TCG anniversary release for 2026. Most of its products ship September 16, but read carefully before assuming that means everything.
Products confirmed for the September 16 window include the Elite Trainer Box, the Greninja ex and Sylveon ex boxes sold individually and as a set, the battle decks (Espeon ex, Umbreon ex, and Victini ex), the mini tins, and the figure collections featuring Mewtwo, Mew, and related characters. These are pre-orderable now and will ship at launch.
The ETB is the centerpiece. It includes eight 30th Celebration booster packs, a full-art promo card, accessories, and the storage box. At $164 to $180 across current pre-order listings, it sits at the same price point as an Evolving Skies or Prismatic Evolutions ETB from prior release cycles.
The ex Box Set bundles both Greninja ex and Sylveon ex into a single $139.95 pre-order, which comes out cheaper than buying the two boxes separately if you want both characters.
Window Three: The Products That Miss September 16
Two of the most-promoted 30th Celebration products are not September 16 releases.
The Booster Bundle, which packages ten booster packs and is the most cost-efficient per-pack option in the lineup, has retailers listing it as an October 2026 ship date. If you pre-order it now expecting it in mid-September, you will be waiting an extra four to six weeks.
The Ultra Premium Collection ships even later. Current pre-order listings mark the UPC Night for November 2026. The UPC is the format's premium tier: multiple booster packs, exclusive oversized cards, and a display stand at $499 to $575 depending on the seller.
Locking in a pre-order now does hold your price, but the product will not arrive until well after the main September 16 rush has cleared.
If you are buying a gift tied to the 30th Celebration launch date, the ETB, ex Boxes, and battle decks are the September 16 products. The Booster Bundle and UPC are not.
Pre-Order Window: Delta Reign ME06
Running parallel to the 30th Celebration is the Delta Reign ME06 pre-order window. Delta Reign is the next major Mega Evolution expansion after Mega Forces and Ascended Heroes, headlined by Mega Rayquaza ex.
The ETB pre-order sits around $99 to $172 depending on the seller and whether you want a bundle with extras like an acrylic case. The Booster Bundle pre-orders at $44.95. A Booster Box runs $331 and up.
No confirmed launch date has been announced beyond a general Q4 2026 window, so these are genuinely speculative pre-orders in terms of timing, not a locked September ship date.
The risk of pre-ordering Delta Reign now is purely the wait. The price lock is the benefit.
How to Map Your September Budget Across All Three Windows
Here is the practical breakdown by budget tier, which is the piece most buying guides skip entirely.
If your September spend is $30 to $60, the Mega Forces tins and Ascended Heroes Mega ex Boxes are the right target: they are in stores now, no waiting required, and give you Mega Evolution content at entry-level prices. A single tin at $29.95 or one Mega ex Box at $45 to $58 gets you into the Mega Evolution arc without touching the pre-order market.
If you have $140 to $180 ready for September 16, the 30th Celebration ETB or the ex Box Set are the cleanest single purchases at that price. The ex Box Set of two is slightly better value if you want both featured characters. The ETB is the better gift or display piece.
If you have $85 and patience, wait for October. The 30th Celebration Booster Bundle packs ten booster packs into an $84 to $85 price point. At ten packs, it beats the ETB on a strict per-pack basis.
It does not include the accessories or promo card. For pure pack volume, it is the value choice in the lineup, just not the September 16 choice.
The $500 UPC tier is a November commitment. Pre-order now to hold your price, but clear space on your shelf for late fall, not early September.
Delta Reign pre-orders fit any tier as a background position, since the launch date is still unconfirmed. Setting a Booster Bundle pre-order at $44.95 locks a low-risk entry and gives you something to look forward to after the 30th Celebration window closes.
DexHaul aggregates listings from independent stores across all three buying windows.
