Delta Reign ME06 Pre-Order Guide: Booster Box vs ETB vs Booster Bundle
By Dexhaul Team · September 1, 2026
If you're buying Delta Reign ME06, you're choosing between three very different price points, and the right one depends on what you're actually trying to do with the set.
Delta Reign is the sixth English Mega Evolution expansion, launching November 6, 2026. According to Serebii, the Mega Evolution series pairs English releases with the Japanese counterpart set roughly six months after the Japanese launch. ME06's Japanese equivalent, Storm Emeralda, released in early 2026 and introduced Mega Rayquaza ex and Mega Gyarados ex as the two headliner cards, both appearing in Futuristic Rare variants that drove significant collector interest at the Japanese launch.
Pre-orders across three main sealed formats are available now from independent sellers. Here's what each format delivers, what it costs per pack, and who it's actually for.
The Booster Box: Best Per-Pack Value, Highest Commitment
The standard Delta Reign Booster Box contains 36 booster packs. At $239.95 from MHDEALSPLUS (Wave 1), that works out to roughly $6.67 per pack. That is the lowest per-pack cost across all ME06 formats.
Wave 1 pre-orders are the ones to watch. Some sellers list Wave 2 allocations at $332 and up, which is a 38% premium for later stock. If you're committing to a box, the Wave 1 listings at $230-$240 are the price point to target before they fill.
A Booster Box makes sense if you're chasing multiple chase cards, splitting with a group, or building a draft-playable collection. Thirty-six packs gives you enough pulls to reasonably expect to hit at least one headline rare, though the specific odds on Futuristic Rare and Special Illustration Rare variants for Mega Rayquaza ex and Mega Gyarados ex won't be confirmed until the collector community posts official pull-rate data at launch. Bulbapedia's Mega Evolution TCG page covers the rarity structures from prior sets in the series for historical context.
It's a harder recommendation for solo collectors who only want one or two specific cards. In that case, you'll spend less buying singles after launch than gambling on packs.
The Elite Trainer Box: Most Versatile, Highest Per-Pack Cost
The Elite Trainer Box packs 9 booster packs alongside a card box, dividers, coin, damage counters, and a sleeve set: accessories that carry real practical value for players.
At $99.95 (MHDEALSPLUS Wave 1) or $104.99 (Moonlight Collectibles), the ETB's per-pack cost lands around $11.10 per pack if you treat the accessories as zero value. Once you factor in the sleeves and storage hardware at replacement cost, you're looking at an effective per-pack rate closer to $8-$9. That's still higher than the Booster Box per-pack rate, but the ETB isn't really competing on pack efficiency.
The ETB is the right call if you're a player who needs tournament-grade sleeves and a deck box, a collector who wants one complete unboxing experience, or someone buying as a gift. It's the format most people reach for at launch because the accessories justify the per-pack premium.
A Delta Reign Pokemon Center ETB variant is also available from some sellers, though current independent listings are priced well above retail. That product is worth holding for closer to the November launch date before committing.
The Booster Bundle: Best Entry Point, No Accessories
The Booster Bundle is the set's cleanest entry point: multiple booster packs plus a promo card at $44.95 from MHDEALSPLUS. No accessories, no storage box. Just packs and a promo.
This is the format for collectors who want to crack a few packs without a $100 or $240 commitment. It's also the format that tends to sell out earliest at launch because the price point draws casual buyers and gift purchasers who wouldn't touch a Booster Box.
If you're curious about the set but not ready to go all-in, lock in a bundle pre-order now. The Wave 1 $44.95 price has room to climb after launch.
The Smaller Formats: Single Packs and Blisters
Below the Booster Bundle, Delta Reign comes in a 3-Pack Blister ($22.95), a sleeved single booster ($7.95), and a Checklane blister ($8.49). These are convenience-tier products, best for gifting or casual add-ons rather than serious collecting.
The per-pack cost on the 3-Pack Blister ($7.65/pack) is actually cheaper than the sleeved single ($7.95) because the blister includes a promo coin or foil card. If you're buying small, the 3-Pack Blister is the better per-unit value of the two.
The Per-Pack Breakdown: What You're Actually Paying
Here's how the formats compare on pure pack cost, assuming 36 packs per Booster Box and 9 packs per ETB:
- Booster Box (Wave 1): $239.95 / 36 packs = $6.67/pack
- 3-Pack Blister: $22.95 / 3 packs = $7.65/pack
- Sleeved Booster: $7.95 / 1 pack = $7.95/pack
- Booster Bundle: $44.95 / approximately 6-8 packs = $5.62-$7.49/pack
- ETB: $99.95 / 9 packs = $11.11/pack (before valuing accessories)
The ETB's per-pack rate looks steep in isolation, but tournament sleeves for a full set cost $10-15 on their own, and the card box and damage counters add more. Factor those in and the effective per-pack cost drops meaningfully. Still, if you just want packs, the Booster Box or Booster Bundle is the better math.
One detail matters more than any other in the pre-order window: Wave 1 vs Wave 2 pricing. A Wave 2 Booster Box at $332 works out to $9.22 per pack, which is 38% more expensive than Wave 1 for the identical product.
There is no premium content difference between Wave 1 and Wave 2 allocations. If you want the Booster Box, the Wave 1 window is the time to act.
Quick Decision Guide
Buy the Booster Box if
You're chasing multiple chase cards, splitting with friends, or want the best per-pack cost and can commit $240 before November.
Buy the ETB if
You want one complete unboxing experience, need sleeves and storage hardware, or are buying for someone who plays the game.
Buy the Booster Bundle if
You want to try the set without a major commitment, or you're adding Delta Reign to a collection that already has everything it needs for storage.
Buy the 3-Pack Blister if
You're buying for a gift or as a casual addition, and the promo card matters more than pack volume.
