ME06 Delta Reign vs ME07 Aura Seeker: Which Pre-Order Is Worth It in 2026?

The two most active pre-orders in the Mega Evolution TCG series right now are separated by five cents at the ETB level.

ME06 Delta Reign launched in English on September 5 and ships immediately. ME07 Aura Seeker takes pre-orders today, but its Japanese launch is not until November 27, and an English date has not been announced.

Same ETB price. Completely different timelines. Here is how to choose.

ME06 Delta Reign: What You Get Right Now

Delta Reign revives the Delta Species mechanic from the 2005 EX era.

In that era, individual Pokémon received an alternate type, marked with a triangle delta symbol. In ME06, that logic applies to Mega Evolution forms: Mega Rayquaza ex appears as a Lightning-type rather than its usual Dragon type, and other featured Pokémon carry types that don't match their standard classification. It is the same concept that gave collectors a Lightning-type Marowak holo rare in 2005, applied here to the Mega Evolution format.

The set is in hand now. You can order, receive, and open packs before the end of September.

ME06 covers every standard format. The Booster Bundle entry point is $44.95 for four packs.

The Elite Trainer Box is $109.95, the Booster Box runs $249.95, and a Booster Box with acrylic case is available at $330.

The standout is the Pokémon Center ETB: current listings on Gemzy start at $257 and reach $507, a $250 spread on a single format that is wider than any ME-series PC ETB seen so far.

The Japanese equivalent, Storm Emeralda (M6), lists as a booster box at $98.99 from SassyPsyduck. That is about $150 below the English Booster Box floor for the same card pool.

ME07 Aura Seeker: The Pre-Order Commitment

Aura Seeker is confirmed for a November 27 Japanese launch. English pre-orders are live now, but no English release date has been announced.

The set's headline argument is its character roster. ME07's ex★ cards are the three Johto Beasts: Suicune, Entei, and Raikou.

None of these Pokémon have a Mega Evolution in any main-series game. Every ME06 card has a game counterpart to anchor it.

ME07's Johto Beast forms are pure TCG-exclusive inventions, making the set structurally different from any previous ME release.

Lucario Z appears in pack artwork across active ME07 pre-order listings. The "Aura Seeker" name connects directly to Lucario's signature Aura ability, and Mega Lucario Z is expected to headline alongside the three beasts.

Pre-order pricing: the ETB is $110 at Gemzy (with acrylic case included) or $124 at Banana Games. The Booster Bundle Wave 2 lists at $49 from Banana Games. There is no Pokémon Center variant in current ME07 listings.

Five Things That Actually Separate These Sets

Price parity at the ETB level

The lowest available ME06 ETB is $109.95 (MHDEALSPLUS). The lowest available ME07 ETB is $110 (Gemzy, with acrylic case).

The budget difference at this format tier is essentially zero. The Booster Bundle entry points are similarly close: $44.95 for ME06 vs $49 for ME07 Wave 2.

Timeline is the real variable

ME06 ships today. An ME07 pre-order means committing funds for a set that does not launch in Japan until November 27, with an English date still unannounced. That is at minimum a 10-week gap from the Japanese launch alone, not counting English-release lag.

Character identity is non-overlapping

ME06 takes Pokémon with existing Mega Evolution game forms (Rayquaza, Flygon) and gives them alternate types via the Delta Species framework. ME07 gives Mega Evolution forms to three Pokémon that have never received them in any game. If you collect Suicune, Entei, or Raikou, ME07 is not one option among several: it is currently the only sealed product offering them as Mega ex cards.

Sealed speculation differs by format

The ME06 Pokémon Center ETB is the only ME06 format with a large speculative premium. Standard ME06 ETBs list close to MSRP. ME07 has no PC ETB in current listings, so both products are comparably approachable at the standard ETB tier.

Japanese path availability

ME06 Japanese (Storm Emeralda) is available now at $98.99 for a booster box, roughly $150 below the English box floor. ME07's Japanese equivalent will not be available until the November 27 launch. For collectors who prefer the Japanese card path, ME06 is the only option with product in hand.

The Verdict

Buy ME06 if you want packs this month, collect Rayquaza or Flygon, prefer the Delta Species card aesthetic, or want the Japanese set at a meaningful discount.

Buy ME07 if you collect Suicune, Entei, or Raikou. There is currently no other product in the Mega Evolution series that gives any of the three Johto Beasts a Mega-form TCG card, and no sign of a future set that will. Pre-ordering now is the straightforward path for beast collectors who follow the ME series.

Both sets at ETB level costs $233.95: $109.95 for ME06 plus $124 for ME07 at Banana Games. For collectors building the complete Mega Evolution series, covering both at a single ETB each is the lowest-risk path.
