Aura Seeker Japanese Booster Box vs English ETB: Which ME07 Pre-Order Makes Sense?

The Japanese Aura Seeker booster box ships from November 27, costs $179.99, and gives you the full ME07 card pool at launch. The English ETB costs less and includes something no booster box format ever delivers.

The deciding variable is the promo card. If you want maximum pack volume from the Aura Seeker card pool before the English release, the JP box is the efficient choice. If you want the exclusive Black Star Promo that ships only with the ETB, the box is irrelevant to your decision regardless of price.

What the Japanese Aura Seeker Booster Box Gets You

Nippon Figures carries the Japanese Aura Seeker booster box at $179.99 USD. It is a pure booster product: Aura Seeker packs, no promo card, no acrylic case, no sleeves or accessories.

All four confirmed ME07 ex★ Pokémon are pullable from the JP box. Mega Lucario Z is the set headliner, with Suicune, Entei, and Raikou as the other three ex★ designates. Each sits above the set ceiling in the numbered sequence, the same structural position Gold Stars occupied in EX Unseen Forces two decades ago.

ME07 is notable across the entire Mega Evolution TCG series for a specific reason: none of the four ex★ Pokémon has a canonical Mega Evolution in any mainline game. Suicune, Entei, and Raikou never Mega-Evolved in XY or ORAS. Mega Lucario Z is a TCG-original design not grounded in any game counterpart.

The ex★ art for all four cards is the only version of those designs that will ever exist, with no in-game reference to compete with or anchor collector expectations against.

What the English ETB Actually Includes

Gemzy lists the ME07 ETB Wave 1 at $108, with the acrylic display case included by default. Banana Games has Wave 2 at $137. Both ETBs ship Aura Seeker booster packs alongside an exclusive Black Star Promo card, card sleeves, damage counter dice, and a player's guide.

The promo card is bundle-exclusive. There is no alternative route to it: not from the JP box, not from a future EN booster box, not from singles markets at launch.

Collectors who miss the ETB window face the secondary market. Promo cards from prior ME-series ETBs confirm this premium is real, particularly the Mega Lucario ex MEP-033 promo from ME01 which is only accessible through the ME01 Figure Collection.

ME06 Delta Reign made one change that carries into ME07: the acrylic display case became a default ETB inclusion. At $108 for Wave 1, you are paying for packs plus accessories whose combined aftermarket value is $30-40. That closes a meaningful portion of the headline price gap with the JP box.

The November 27 Launch Window: What It Means for Pre-Orders Now

ME07 Aura Seeker releases in Japan on November 27, 2026. The English release date has not been announced. Both the JP booster box and the English ETB are pre-orders today.

Timing favors the JP box for one narrow reason: it ships as soon as a Japanese retailer fulfills the order, which means late November or December 2026. If the English release follows the ME-series pattern of a few months after the JP launch, English ETB buyers face a Q1 2027 delivery window at best. For collectors who want to open packs and see what ex★ cards look like in hand before February, the JP box has a real timing advantage.

The ETB timing argument runs the other direction. The promo card's value on the secondary market compounds the longer the English window drags out.

Missing Wave 1 and waiting for Wave 2 ($137, $29 higher) is a visible cost. Pre-ordering Wave 1 now at $108 locks the current floor.

The ME01 Lucario Reference and What It Tells You About ex★ Ceilings

Mega Lucario ex 179/132 Special Illustration Rare from ME01 currently trades at $176-185 raw. That card occupies the same structural position in ME01 that ex★ cards will occupy in ME07: above-set-ceiling numbered, the highest rarity tier, and centered on a Mega Lucario design.

ME07 adds a second above-set Lucario entry in the ME series. The ME01 SIR represents the established ceiling for a sealed-product Mega Lucario pull.

Whether Mega Lucario Z ex★ from ME07 matches or surpasses that ceiling depends on print run and demand that no pre-order format can predict. What the ME01 data shows is that this character, in this structural position, has commanded a sustained $175-plus secondary market floor.

The booster bundle at $49 from Banana Games is the entry point for Aura Seeker packs without committing to a full box or ETB. It delivers pack pulls with no accessories, no promo. For collectors who want exposure to the card pool at a lower initial spend, it is the sensible intermediate format.

Which Format Is Right for You

Japanese booster box ($179.99, Nippon Figures) is the better choice if you want maximum pack volume, you are comfortable pulling Japanese-text cards, and you want to open ME07 packs in November rather than waiting for English delivery.

English ETB Wave 1 ($108, Gemzy, with acrylic) is the better choice if the exclusive promo card matters to you, you prefer English-text cards for play or grading, or you want the acrylic display case bundled rather than sourced separately.

English ETB Wave 2 ($137, Banana Games) carries the same contents as Wave 1 at a higher floor, reflecting the second allocation. Wave 1 is the efficient option if you are buying the ETB format at all.

The JP booster box and the English ETB are not competing for the same collector. They serve different needs. Neither is the wrong answer if you have bought it for the right reason.
