What's in a Twilight Masquerade Booster Display Box
A Booster Display Box is packs and nothing else. No promo card, no sleeves, no accessories: those extras come with the Elite Trainer Box and collection box formats. If you need the accessories, jump to the ETB section below.
| Contents | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| SV06 Twilight Masquerade booster packs | 36 | Arranged in a two-row display tray |
| Cards per pack | 10 | Standard SV era format |
| Foil Pokémon ex per pack | At least 1 (expected) | Hit rate varies; not guaranteed per pack |
| Promo card | None | Display boxes contain packs only |
| Sleeves, dice or accessories | None | See the Elite Trainer Box below |
The 36 packs sit in a cardboard display tray inside the outer box, split into two rows of 18. That layout keeps packs upright and limits edge-to-edge contact between them. For collectors storing sealed displays long-term, the two-row tray keeps outer pack edges flush against the tray rather than pressing against neighboring packs.

How It Compares to Other SV Sets
Twilight Masquerade sits between Temporal Forces and Shrouded Fable in the Scarlet & Violet release calendar. Comparing it to two other booster box releases helps set the price context.
| Twilight Masquerade SV06 | Temporal Forces SV05 | Obsidian Flames SV03 | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Release date (EN) | May 24, 2024 | Mar 22, 2024 | Aug 11, 2023 |
| Total cards in set | 226 | 218 | 230 |
| Packs per display | 36 | 36 | 36 |
| Top chase card type | SIR (Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex) | SIR (Walking Wake ex) | SIR (Charizard ex) |
| Notable mechanic | Four Ogerpon ex mask forms | Ancient/Future Pokémon ex | Tera Pokémon ex |
Twilight Masquerade is the only SV-era set with four distinct ex cards built around one Pokémon. Teal Mask, Wellspring Mask, Hearthflame Mask, and Cornerstone Mask Ogerpon ex are each separate card targets, which splits chase pulls across more distinct results than a set centered on one or two headline cards.
See the Obsidian Flames Booster Box guide and the Temporal Forces Booster Box guide for pack counts and contents on those sets.
Release Timeline
| Date | Event | Source |

| Apr 26, 2024 | Japanese Mask of Change (SV6) releases | official pokemon-card.com |
| May 24, 2024 | Twilight Masquerade (SV06) releases in the US | tcg.pokemon.com |

The Japanese equivalent, Mask of Change, released about 28 days before the English version. That gap is shorter than the typical six-week localization window for most earlier Scarlet & Violet sets. The closer window means card-number overlaps between the Japanese and English prints are unusually tight for SV06 compared to SV01 through SV05.
Who It's For, and Who Should Skip It
The Booster Display Box makes sense for a specific buyer. It does not make sense for everyone.
Buy the Booster Display Box if
You want to open a full sweep of Twilight Masquerade packs and track your own hit rate across all 36. You're chasing multiple Ogerpon ex forms, the Bloodmoon Ursaluna ex Special Illustration Rare, or both: display volume gives you enough packs to realistically expect the major hits. You want a single box-level gift for a dedicated TCG player who opens at home, not someone who needs accessories to start playing.
Skip the display and get the ETB if
You want 65 card sleeves, energy cards, dice, and a foil promo card alongside your packs. The Elite Trainer Box at $54.99 MSRP gives nine packs with a complete play accessory kit. That is the better first purchase for someone who does not already own the gear.
Skip both if
You only need one or two specific cards from the set. Individual packs or trading for the singles you want will cost far less than opening a display to find them. The Booster Bundle (6 packs) is also available as a lower buy-in for casual opening.
A Good Holiday Gift for the Pokémon TCG Fan
Q4 is peak gift season for sealed Pokémon product. A Booster Display Box is a strong gift for the player who already has accessories and wants to open volume from a set they missed at launch. For gift-givers who are unsure, the ETB is the safer pick: it includes everything a player needs to use the packs right away.
