Charizard is the Fire/Flying-type final evolution of the Charmander line and one of the most recognized Pokémon in the franchise. It reaches this form from Charmeleon at level 36 and has a base stat total of 534, with a standout Special Attack of 109.

In Pokémon X and Y, Charizard gained two separate Mega Evolutions: Mega Charizard X, a Fire/Dragon type with Tough Claws, and Mega Charizard Y, which keeps Fire/Flying and gains Drought. A Gigantamax Charizard form was added in Sword and Shield. In the TCG, early Charizard cards including the Base Set holo are among the most widely collected cards in the game's history. Merch ranges from high-end statues to plush, figures, and branded apparel. Ash's Charizard was a central character in the original anime, appearing across the Kanto, Orange Islands, and Johto arcs.
