Celebrations Lance's Charizard V Collection (2021): Contents and MSRP
By Dexhaul Team · October 12, 2026 · 5 min read
The Celebrations Collection: Lance's Charizard V contains one foil promo Lance's Charizard V card, one oversize Lance's Charizard V card, four Celebrations booster packs, and two Sword and Shield era booster packs. It launched October 8, 2021 alongside the Celebrations 25th Anniversary set at an MSRP of $19.99 USD. In 2026, independent sellers list it between $100 and $180+ USD.
A sibling product, the Celebrations Collection: Dark Sylveon V, was released at the same time with identical contents except for the promo card.

What's inside the Lance's Charizard V Collection
| Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Foil promo Lance's Charizard V | 1 | Exclusive to this collection; Dragon-type Champion Lance as the card's trainer theme |
| Oversize Lance's Charizard V card | 1 | Jumbo collectible card matching the promo |
| Celebrations booster packs | 4 | Each pack contains 5 cards from the 25-card anniversary set or the 102-card Classic Collection subset |
| Sword and Shield era booster packs | 2 | Standard-set packs included at launch (set may vary by printing run) |
The Lance's Charizard V promo is one of the few cards in the Celebrations product line to feature a named trainer. Lance, the Dragon-type specialist and Champion of the Johto League in the Gold and Silver games, appears alongside his signature Charizard. The card was never reprinted in any subsequent product release, which is part of why secondary market prices have climbed well above the 2021 retail price.
MSRP and current prices
| Price point | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Launch MSRP (2021) | $19.99 USD | Standard retail price at release, October 8, 2021 |
| Current secondary market floor | $100–$115 USD | Lower end from independent sellers, observed October 2026 |
| Typical secondary market range | $165–$180 USD | Most listings at established TCG shops, observed October 2026 |
| Sealed pair (Lance's + Dark Sylveon V) | $562+ USD | Some sellers list both boxes together as a set |
At $19.99 MSRP in 2021, this collection offered four Celebrations packs at a lower per-pack cost than buying them individually, plus an exclusive promo. The 8x-to-9x secondary market markup reflects both the end-of-print status of the Celebrations set and the non-reprint status of the Lance's Charizard V promo.
How it compares to other Celebrations collections
The Celebrations product line launched with several collections at different price tiers. The Lance's Charizard V sits in the entry-level slot, alongside the Dark Sylveon V and the Dragapult Prime and Deluxe Pin collections at the same MSRP. Larger products in the same line are covered on their own pages: see Celebrations Ultra-Premium Collection (2021) and Celebrations Pikachu VMAX Figure Collection (2021).
| Product | Launch MSRP | Celebrations packs | Exclusive promo |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lance's Charizard V Collection | $19.99 | 4 | Foil Lance's Charizard V + oversize |
| Dark Sylveon V Collection | $19.99 | 4 | Foil Dark Sylveon V + oversize |
| Pikachu V-UNION Special Collection | $19.99 | 4 | 4-piece Pikachu V-UNION + oversize + Professor Burnet promo |
| Pikachu VMAX Figure Collection | $49.99 | 8 | Gigantamax Pikachu figure + etched promos |
| Ultra-Premium Collection | $99.99 | 16 | Pikachu statuette + multiple promos + accessories |
The Dark Sylveon V collection
The Celebrations Collection: Dark Sylveon V is the direct counterpart to the Lance's Charizard V box. It was released on the same date, with the same four Celebrations packs and two Sword and Shield era packs. The difference is the promo: a foil Dark Sylveon V and its matching oversize card.
Dark Sylveon V is notable precisely because it contradicts Sylveon's usual type. Sylveon is a Fairy-type Pokémon in the games, introduced in Pokémon X and Y. The promo card gives it a Darkness typing instead, one of the more unexpected type assignments in the entire 25th anniversary product line.
Like the Lance's Charizard V promo, the Dark Sylveon V has never been reprinted. Both promos were exclusive to their respective collection boxes and have not appeared in any subsequent set or product.

Who it's for, and who should skip it
Buy it if:
You're a Charizard collector who wants every significant promo in the 25th anniversary run. The Lance's Charizard V card is genuinely unique: a Champion trainer paired with his iconic Pokémon, with artwork you will not find in any booster set or reprint product. The sealed box also appeals to Celebrations set completionists, since the four included Celebrations packs carry the full 25-card anniversary set plus Classic Collection hits.
Consider the Dark Sylveon V instead if:
You want the more unusual of the two promos. The Darkness-type Sylveon makes for a more unexpected card, and its price range in 2026 is similar to the Lance's Charizard V. Both boxes can be purchased individually or, from some sellers, as a sealed pair.
Skip it if:
You want to open packs for hits. The four Celebrations packs in this box are 5-card packs from a 25-card set: pull rates for Classic Collection inserts are roughly one per box, but no card from these packs holds significant secondary market value in 2026. The box premium reflects the promo and oversize card, not the booster pack contents.
