By Dexhaul Team · October 12, 2026 · 6 min read
The Celebrations Special Collection: Pikachu V-UNION is the only sealed product that delivers a complete, ready-to-play Pikachu V-UNION set in a single purchase.
Inside you get four Pikachu V-UNION cards (the full V-UNION mechanic needs all four in play simultaneously), one oversize Pikachu V-UNION display card, a Professor Burnet full-art promo, four Pokémon TCG: Celebrations booster packs, and two additional Sword and Shield era packs, as confirmed on the official product gallery. The collection launched Q4 2021 alongside the wider 25th-anniversary Celebrations set. Independent sellers currently list sealed copies between $149 and $320, observed October 12, 2026.

What's inside the Celebrations Special Collection: Pikachu V-UNION
| Item | Quantity | Notes |

| Pikachu V-UNION card (part 1 of 4) | 1 | SWSH Black Star Promo; top-left quadrant |
| Pikachu V-UNION card (part 2 of 4) | 1 | SWSH Black Star Promo; top-right quadrant |

| Pokémon TCG: Celebrations booster packs | 4 | Each pack contains 4 cards from the 25th-anniversary set |
| Additional Sword and Shield era packs | 2 | Standard 10-card boosters |
The six booster packs split into four Celebrations packs and two from a concurrent Sword and Shield main set. Celebrations packs are 4-card mini-packs unique to this 25th-anniversary product line: each contains three cards from the 25-card Celebrations subset and one card from the Classic Collection reprint tier.
The Pikachu V-UNION: what makes these four cards different
V-UNION is a mechanic introduced specifically for the Celebrations set. Unlike a standard Pokémon V or VMAX, a V-UNION Pokémon is assembled from four individual cards placed side by side on the bench, and you cannot play the mechanic with fewer than all four present.
The four Pikachu V-UNION cards in this collection are SWSH Black Star Promos. They do not appear in standard Celebrations booster packs, the Celebrations Elite Trainer Box, or the Celebrations Ultra-Premium Collection.
The only sealed products that contain all four together are this Special Collection and the Celebrations Premium Playmat Collection (a separate product). Collectors who want a sealed set without sourcing individual singles have exactly these two options.
The Professor Burnet promo is equally noteworthy. A full-art Supporter based on the Alola-region professor and co-founder of Pokémon Nursery research, she has a very limited English print run tied almost entirely to this collection.
Current prices and MSRP
The Pokémon Company did not publish a standalone MSRP on the official US product gallery page. At launch in Q4 2021, US retailers priced this product in line with other Special Collections from that era.
| Seller | Observed price | As of |
|---|---|---|
| Ravli | $149.90 USD | October 12, 2026 |
| Hobbiesville | $211.00 USD | October 12, 2026 |
| Aloha Card Shop | $250.00 USD | October 12, 2026 |
| RokuTCGHouse | $260.00 USD | October 12, 2026 |
| Running to the Rip | $320.00 USD | October 12, 2026 |
Price spread across current independent sellers is wide: nearly $170 separates the lowest and highest listings observed today. Seller reputation, shipping origin, and whether the box remains factory-sealed all affect the ask. Check each listing carefully before purchasing.
How it compares to other Celebrations sealed products
There are three main sealed options from the Celebrations line. This collection is the only one that includes the Pikachu V-UNION promos.
| Product | Pack count | Exclusive promos | V-UNION included |
|---|---|---|---|
| Celebrations ETB (2021) | 15 (10 CEL + 5 other) | Greninja full-art promo | No |
| Special Collection: Pikachu V-UNION (2021) | 6 (4 CEL + 2 other) | 4x Pikachu V-UNION + oversize + Professor Burnet | Yes (all four parts) |
| Celebrations UPC (2021) | 24 (16 CEL + 8 other) | Metal Base Set Charizard + Pikachu cards | No |
The ETB is the higher-pack-count option if your goal is pulling cards from the Celebrations set itself. The UPC is the prestige collector piece, centred on the metal Base Set reproductions. This Special Collection stands apart because it is the only way to get all four V-UNION cards sealed and official without sourcing singles.
Release timeline
| Date | Milestone | Source |
|---|---|---|
| October 8, 2021 | Pokémon TCG: Celebrations set launch (ETB, booster packs, UPC) | pokemon.com gallery |

The Celebrations set was a limited 25th-anniversary release. The Pokémon Company has not reprinted Celebrations products and has made no announcement about doing so. Sealed copies of this collection, and the V-UNION promos inside them, come only from stock printed in 2021.
Who it's for, and who should skip it
Buy this collection if you want a sealed, complete Pikachu V-UNION set. It is the most practical single-purchase path to all four cards without hunting singles and verifying each one individually using Limitless TCG to confirm card numbers and printings match.
It also suits collectors building a Celebrations display. The oversize V-UNION and Professor Burnet promo add two display pieces not found in the ETB or UPC, making it a meaningful complement to both.
Skip it if your goal is opening Celebrations packs in volume. Six packs is a small sample, and most pulls will land in the Common and Uncommon tier. The ETB's 15 packs gives you a much better run at the set's holographic and rainbow-rare cards.
For binder-display storage of the V-UNION promos once opened, the Pokémon TCG binders guide covers options that accommodate oversize cards.
Also skip it if you only want the Professor Burnet promo. The card trades as a single on the secondary market and is typically a more cost-effective route than buying the full collection for one Supporter.
FAQ
What packs come in the Celebrations Special Collection: Pikachu V-UNION?
Four Pokémon TCG: Celebrations booster packs (4 cards each, from the 25th-anniversary subset) and two additional Sword and Shield era boosters, as listed on the official product gallery. Six packs total.
Are the Pikachu V-UNION cards in regular Celebrations packs?
No. The four Pikachu V-UNION cards are SWSH Black Star Promos exclusive to the Special Collection: Pikachu V-UNION and the Celebrations Premium Playmat Collection. They are not found in standard Celebrations booster packs, the ETB, or the Ultra-Premium Collection.
Can I play Pikachu V-UNION with fewer than all four cards?
No. The V-UNION mechanic requires all four cards to be played at the same time. You cannot put fewer than four onto your bench and still use V-UNION attacks or abilities.
Is the oversize Pikachu V-UNION tournament-legal?
No. Oversize cards are display pieces only and are not legal in official play. The four standard-sized Pikachu V-UNION promos inside the collection are the tournament-legal copies.
Was the Celebrations Special Collection: Pikachu V-UNION reprinted?
No reprint has been announced as of October 12, 2026. Celebrations was a limited 25th-anniversary release, and The Pokémon Company has not announced further print runs of any Celebrations product.
