Celebrations Elite Trainer Box (2021): Contents and MSRP
By Dexhaul Team · October 8, 2026 · 6 min read
The Pokémon TCG: Celebrations Elite Trainer Box launched on October 8, 2021, as part of Pokémon's 25th anniversary. It is the only sealed product in the Celebrations lineup that includes a full accessory bundle alongside the booster content.
The standard Celebrations ETB contains 10 Pokémon TCG: Celebrations 4-card booster packs and 5 Sword and Shield-era booster packs, plus 65 card sleeves, 45 Energy cards, and a complete set of game accessories. At launch, the suggested retail price was approximately $44.99. As of October 8, 2026, sealed copies list from $393 to $487 USD from independent shops.
A separate Pokemon Center exclusive version exists with a different pack count and an additional promo card. The contents for both versions are detailed below.

What's Inside the Celebrations Elite Trainer Box
The standard Celebrations ETB has a distinctive pack structure. Each Celebrations booster contains only 4 cards, not the standard 10, so the pack count in the box understates the actual card total.
| Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Pokémon TCG: Celebrations 4-card booster packs | 10 | Set code SWSH35; 4 cards per pack |
| Sword and Shield-era booster packs | 5 | Standard 10-card format |
| Card sleeves | 65 | Celebrations artwork design |
| Basic Energy cards | 45 | Assorted types |
| Damage-counter dice | 6 | |
| Die and coin-flip die | 1 each | |
| Player reference cards | 2 | |
| Condition marker | 1 | |
| Pokémon TCG rulebook | 1 |
The arithmetic here is worth noting. The 10 Celebrations packs yield 40 Celebrations cards. The 5 companion packs yield 50 cards from the Sword and Shield era. The box's card count is numerically dominated by the companion set, not the anniversary set it is named after. Buyers who want maximum Celebrations card exposure are better served by the Ultra-Premium Collection, which packs 17 Celebrations boosters.
MSRP and Price History
The Celebrations ETB launched at approximately $44.99 MSRP, consistent with the standard Sword and Shield Elite Trainer Box pricing of that period. Compare that to the Brilliant Stars ETB, which also launched at $44.99 in February 2022.
Five years of out-of-print status changed things significantly.
| Version | MSRP (2021) | Observed price, Oct 8, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Celebrations ETB | ~$44.99 | $393–$487 USD |
| Celebrations Pokemon Center ETB | ~$64.99 | $572–$2,900 USD |
Secondary market pricing follows demand for the Celebrations set itself, particularly the Classic Collection subset. The Base Set Charizard reprint, the Flying Pikachu VMAX, and the Surfing Pikachu VMAX do not appear in any sealed product released after the 2021 print run. There is no reprint path, so sealed supply only moves in one direction.
Celebrations ETB vs Pokemon Center ETB
The Pokemon Center exclusive version of the Celebrations ETB has a meaningfully different contents list. The gap is not just a few more packs.
The Pokemon Center ETB contains: 13 Celebrations 4-card booster packs (three more than the standard version), 6 Sword and Shield-era booster packs, 65 card sleeves featuring the Pokémon 25 logo design, 45 Energy cards, 6 stamped aluminum damage-counter dice, 1 metal Pokémon coin, 2 acrylic condition markers, a player's guide, and the Pokémon TCG rulebook. It also includes the Greninja ★ (SWSH Black Star Promo).
The Greninja ★ is the single deciding factor between the two versions. This promo was exclusive to the Pokemon Center ETB and has never appeared in any other standard sealed Celebrations product. Collectors completing the full 25th anniversary sealed set need the PC version specifically for that card.
The premium for it is substantial. At observed prices of $572–$2,900 versus $393–$487 for the standard ETB, the Greninja ★ carries an implied premium of at least $179 at the low end of both ranges.
How the Celebrations ETB Fits the Full Lineup
The Celebrations launch included three main sealed formats, each targeting a different buyer. The ETB sits between them on both price and pack count.
| Product | Celebrations packs | Unique extras | MSRP (2021) | Observed, Oct 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Standard ETB | 10 | Full accessory set | ~$44.99 | $393–$487 |
| Pokemon Center ETB | 13 | Greninja ★ promo, metal accessories | ~$64.99 | $572–$2,900 |
| Ultra-Premium Collection | 17 | Metal Base Set Charizard and Pikachu cards, playmat | ~$99.99 | $1,287–$1,404 |
For buyers who want only Celebrations cards, the UPC delivers 70% more booster content than the standard ETB. For buyers who want to play with the cards, only the standard ETB and PC ETB include the accessories needed to run a complete game. Release Timeline
All three main Celebrations sealed formats launched on the same day as the expansion itself.
| Date | Product | Status, Oct 2026 |
|---|---|---|

The Celebrations set (SWSH35) went out of print in 2022. No reprint has been announced as of October 2026. Sealed product availability depends entirely on secondary market sellers.
Who It's For, and Who Should Skip It
Buy the standard Celebrations ETB if you are building a complete 25th anniversary sealed collection and do not need the Greninja ★ promo, or if you want the most complete game-ready accessory bundle from the lineup. The 65 sleeves, dice, and Energy cards made it the practical option for players who also collected.
Skip it if your goal is maximum Celebrations card content: the Ultra-Premium Collection gives 17 packs to the ETB's 10. Skip it if you need the Greninja ★: that card is exclusive to the Pokemon Center ETB. Also skip it as an opening product at current prices. At $393+, each of the 10 Celebrations packs costs roughly $39 per 4-card pack on a per-pack basis. Individual Celebrations booster packs list at $31–$55 from independent shops, observed October 8, 2026. Opening a sealed ETB at secondary prices rarely works out better than buying packs directly.
The Celebrations ETB as a Collector's Gift
The five-year anniversary makes the Celebrations ETB one of the more defensible sealed gift choices in the TCG category this Q4. It is a known product with a documented history, not a speculative new release.
For a collector who does not yet own it, the standard ETB is the entry point to the 25th anniversary sealed set. The box presents well, packaging is intact across the current listings, and the $393–$487 range is consistent enough to set expectations before purchase. For a collector who wants a meaningful sealed upgrade, the Pokemon Center ETB at $572 adds the Greninja ★ promo and metal accessories. Both versions have current in-stock listings from independent shops.
