30th Celebration Wave 2 Is Live: Booster Bundles, Mini Tins, and the GWP Window
By Dexhaul Team · October 2, 2026
October 2 is here.
The Wave 2 30th Celebration products are landing on shelves today: Booster Bundles, Mini Tins, the Wave 2 Elite Trainer Box, and the in-store Mewtwo SVP052 GWP. Each has a different urgency profile. The GWP is the only one with a hard time limit.
Wave 2 is a structural departure from Wave 1. The September 16 launch was defined by the ETB going into allocation within hours. Today's wave has no allocation-constrained product.
Booster Bundles and Mini Tins route through the same mass-market distribution channels as blister packs and Battle Decks, meaning buying today versus next week does not change your outcome on those formats. The GWP is the exception: that window depletes independently of product stock.
The GWP Window: One Mini Tin Triggers a $41-50 Promo
The Mewtwo SVP052 Illustration Rare is the free gift-with-purchase available in-store today with any 30th Celebration purchase of $15 or more. US participating retailers include GameStop, Best Buy, Hot Topic, and Barnes & Noble. In Australia and New Zealand: EB Games, JB Hi-Fi, and BIG W.
Secondary market listings for SVP052 run $41-50 USD as of today. A single Mini Tin at $25.99 MSRP triggers the GWP, meaning you pay for a product you might buy anyway and receive a $41-50 card alongside it.
That math only applies to buyers within reach of a participating store. International buyers outside the listed regions have no in-store path; the secondary market is the only route.
The GWP has no published end date. Participating retailer allocations deplete on their own timeline, separately from product stock on the floor. Once a store's GWP cards are gone, there is no restocking path.
If you are near a participating retailer today and plan to buy any Wave 2 product, the in-store purchase is the clear call.
SVP052 carries both the "Pokémon 30" anniversary mark and the "What's Your Favorite" campaign logo. As confirmed on the official 30th Celebration product page, it is a Black Star Promo available only through this GWP event. No booster pack in the set can produce it.
Booster Bundle: The Floor Came Down From Pre-Order
Booster Bundles floor at $84.95 today at live sellers. That is below the pre-order high-water mark of $119.95 seen at some retailers. The physical stock landing corrected the market downward, as it typically does when distribution is mass-market rather than specialty-channel allocation.
Per-pack math: six packs at $84.95 = $14.16 per pack. That is the most efficient entry in the entire Wave 2 lineup. The Wave 2 ETB runs $20 per pack; Mini Tins at individual import pricing run $21 per pack.
The Booster Bundle is the pack-efficiency call if you are not targeting the ETB promo or a specific tin character.
There is no urgency on the Booster Bundle. Mass-market distribution means retailers reorder from the same pool as blister packs and decks. The price is unlikely to climb from here; it is more likely to settle toward MSRP ($74.99) as physical units spread through the market over the next few weeks.
Mini Tins: The Display Saves $9 Per Tin, With One Condition
Mini Tins are hitting import sellers today at $42 per individual unit, above the $25.99 MSRP. The premium reflects the import margin on a US-centric mass-market release reaching international buyers before domestic retail stock lands. The 10-tin display at $329.95 works out to $33 per tin, a $9 savings over individual import pricing.
That savings only applies if you want all nine character-specific variants. The display includes every character tin in the wave. Buying individual tins lets you target specific characters; the display is the better buy only if completionist coverage is the goal.
The art card inside each tin is character-matched to the design. There is no random element: the Mewtwo tin ships with a Mewtwo art card. If a specific art card is the goal, the character-specific tin is the only way to guarantee it.
The random-assortment format (one tin, character unspecified) picks for you.
Wave 2 ETB: One Exclusive Justifies the Premium, Nothing Else Does
The Wave 2 Elite Trainer Box floors at $179.95 today. Nine packs at that price = $20 per pack, against the Booster Bundle's $14.16. The entire $5.84 per-pack premium buys two things: the ETB accessories (sleeves, dice, condition markers, a coin) and the exclusive Nidorina full-art foil promo.
The Nidorina promo (MEP 101) is not available in the Booster Bundle, Mini Tins, or any other Wave 2 product. It is also not available as a standalone single at launch: secondary market supply only appears once ETBs are opened. For collectors who specifically want the Nidorina promo sealed, the ETB is the only path.
For everyone else, the Booster Bundle delivers identical booster pack content at $5.84 less per pack. As confirmed by Limitless TCG card data, the card pool across all 30th Celebration booster packs is identical regardless of product format. The format premium exists; the pack-pool premium does not.
What to Do Today
The GWP is the only item on today's list with a depletion clock that doesn't reset. If a participating retailer is accessible, that purchase comes first: any $15 Wave 2 product triggers it, and the free card trades above the purchase threshold on secondary market.
Booster Bundles: there is no urgency. The price is likely to drift toward $74.99 MSRP as physical stock reaches more sellers. Buying today at $84.95 is reasonable; waiting a week costs nothing except the floor might move down modestly.
Mini Tins: decide on character or completionist framing first, then choose individual or display. Wave 2 ETB: only justified if the Nidorina promo is a specific collection target. It is a genuine exclusive; if it doesn't matter to the collection, the Booster Bundle is the better purchase.
