Breloom spent nearly a decade as one of the most feared OU threats in competitive Pokémon, and today its highest-rarity modern card costs under $2.

That gap is the clearest starting point for this guide. The Fighting/Grass Hoenn Pokémon has a 23-year TCG history, a well-stocked plush line, and a price ladder running from under $1 to the low-to-mid hundreds, depending on which card you want and in what condition.

The Competitive Legacy

Breloom's reputation in competitive play rests on three things: the Technician ability, Spore, and access to both Mach Punch and Bullet Seed.

Technician-boosted Bullet Seed and Low Sweep let Breloom threaten opponents before they could respond, while Spore guaranteed a sleeping target when priority moves were not the right call. According to Serebii's Pokédex entry, the Technician ability raises the base power of moves with a base power of 60 or less, which made Breloom's shallow movepool far more threatening than it appeared on paper.

The character was an OU staple for most of Generation V and was banned from UU on multiple occasions. Collectors who played during the 2010-2013 competitive window often have a specific attachment to the character, and that shows in which products sell first.

The plush usually comes first.

TCG History: EX Era Debut and the Deoxys Holo

Breloom first appeared in the English TCG in EX Sandstorm (October 2003), numbered 33/100 as an uncommon.

That entry card trades between $2-4 in raw NM condition today. The EX era's real Breloom milestone came two years later.

Breloom 3/107 from EX Deoxys (2005) is the character's only holo-rare in the full EX era spanning 2003 to 2007. Numbered third in the 107-card EX Deoxys set, it occupies a slot that EX sets reserved for holo rares, illustrated with the kinetic low-stance posture that became standard for the character in physical Hoenn prints during that generation.

Raw NM copies of the holo currently sit between $8.37 and $34.00 depending on the seller and centering. The reverse holo variant from the same set runs $12-37; the foiling pattern is easier to condition-grade cleanly, which is why some buyers actively prefer it over the standard holo.

Breloom also appeared in EX Emerald (2005) at number 22/106, another Holo Rare in a Hoenn-focused expansion.

XY Furious Fists (2014) added a Breloom common, an expected entry for a Fighting-type-themed set. Neither that card nor the EX Sandstorm uncommon commands a collector premium; they're budget-accessible binder entries rather than targets.

The Breloom V Gap: High Rarity, Low Price

Breloom V 006/264 from Fusion Strike (November 2021) is the character's highest-rarity card in the modern era, and it is also one of the cheapest V cards from the entire SwSh window.

Currently listed at $1.49 to $4.00 across sellers, the Breloom V is a case study in how print volume and competitive absence together suppress even V-tier prices. Fusion Strike is among the most heavily printed SwSh-era releases, and Breloom V saw no meaningful competitive SWSH play, removing the secondary-market demand spike that lifts similar V cards over time.

The full art version, also numbered 006/264 at V rarity, sits at the same price floor as the standard print. Both the standard and full art are available under $2 from multiple sellers in 2026, which is rare for a V card four years after release.

Through September 2026, no VMAX, VSTAR, or SV-era ex card exists for Breloom in English.

The Scarlet & Violet series has produced two Breloom commons: SV Base Set 4/198 at under $1, and Temporal Forces 007/162 at under $0.50. Whether a future set adds a higher-rarity treatment for the character remains to be seen; the SV series has been selective about which Generation III Pokémon receive ex status, and Breloom has not been among them through the first eight main SV releases.

Shroomish: The Pre-Evolution Collector Target

Shroomish #285 is where the most specific collector interest in the evolution line concentrates, and it centers on one card from 2016.

Shroomish RC2/RC32 from XY Generations is a Radiant Collection card, produced as part of a 32-card subset created exclusively for Pokémon's 20th anniversary in February 2016. The Radiant Collection used a foil treatment and layout distinct from all other XY-era cards and was not reprinted in any subsequent release, making it a fixed-supply 20th anniversary artifact.

Listings for RC2/RC32 currently run between $5.60 and $9.00 depending on the seller. That is notable pricing for a Shroomish single. The premium reflects collector demand for the RC format itself rather than any particular character affinity, which means RC Shroomish often appeals to anniversary-set collectors as much as to character-specific ones.

Standard Shroomish commons from recent sets (Brilliant Stars 003/172, SV Base Set 003/198) are under $0.50 each. If the evolution line's pre-stage is what you want in a binder, the Generations RC is the card that earns it a spot.

Plush: Two Formats at Different Price Points

The plush line divides cleanly into two tiers.

The Pokémon Fit plush is the compact official design at $19-25 depending on the seller. Multiple listings exist for the same sculpt under slightly different import names; the Ichiba Japan listing at $19 and the Collector Store LLC listing at $24.99 are the same Pokémon Center Fit design, the difference being sourcing and shipping origin.

The Sitting Cuties format is a different posture and softer construction, ranging from $30.00 (Poke Merch Market) to $52.39 for the full Pokémon Center version via ToyCartUSA. The choice between the two is primarily a shelf-space and posture preference; both are the same character, and neither carries a supply scarcity premium at current prices.

Entry Points by Budget

The floor is the Temporal Forces common at under $0.50, followed by the SV Base Set common at under $1. Neither is a collector target, but both are cheap binder fills.

The Shroomish Generations RC at $5.60-9.00 is the first card in the line with a distinct collector identity, worth it if you want the pre-evolution represented with something specific. The EX Deoxys holo at $8-34 NM is the strongest single for anyone building a vintage Hoenn-era card collection.

The Pokémon Fit plush at $19-25 covers the plush entry, and the Sitting Cuties at $30-52 is the step up in format. The Breloom V at under $2 is the most affordable V in the character's history and a reasonable pickup if you want modern-era representation without spending on a card that may command more once a higher SV treatment arrives.
