Dedenne Collector's Guide 2026: The Dedechange Era, the Radiant Collection Holo, and Every Plush Entry Point

The Dedenne plush starts at $14 and the TCG collector ceiling sits around $52, but the most interesting part of this Kalos Pokémon's merchandise story lives between those numbers.

Dedenne is a Gen 6 Electric/Fairy type, introduced in Pokémon X and Y as a Kalos route encounter rather than a major story beat. It never appears on a rival's team or in a climactic battle. It lives on Route 11, available early in the game, and was designed as Bonnie's companion throughout the XY anime series.

Small, round, and immediately recognizable as a Pikachu-variant archetype, it built a collector audience that its TCG card history ended up surprising.

Dedenne GX: The Draw Engine That Defined an Era

In 2019, Dedenne GX from Unbroken Bonds (SM10, 057/214) became one of the most-copied cards in competitive TCG deckbuilding.

The entire reason is a single Ability called Dedechange. Once per turn, you may discard your hand and draw 6 new cards. That is the complete sell.

A dead opening hand with three unplayable pieces becomes six fresh cards in a single Ability activation. Nearly every Standard deck from late 2019 through the card's rotation ran two copies specifically for this access pattern, regardless of the deck's archetype.

Dedenne GX has 160 HP and a 130-damage GX attack, but it was never meant to attack. It functioned as pure draw support: a Pokémon on the bench whose only job was to fix bad hands and accelerate setup. The Ultra Rare rarity made it searchable via Quick Ball and Ultra Ball, which meant getting it onto the bench had almost no overhead cost.

$17.00 USD

Raw NM copies of the standard Ultra Rare currently trade between $14–17 across storefronts. That price reflects the card's historical significance as a competitive staple, not current playability: Dedenne GX rotated out of Standard and sits in Expanded, where the deep card pool means it is less automatically necessary. For collectors, the standard Ultra Rare is the accessible entry into the Dedechange era.

The alt art version is a different story.

The 195a/214 Alternate Art Promo

Dedenne GX 195a/214 is a promotional print featuring a distinct illustration from the standard Full Art (195/214). The "a" suffix marks it as a separate printing: softer artwork, different composition, with a holofoil finish that reads differently from the standard Full Art's rainbow gradient.

Current raw NM pricing runs $25–32 across multiple storefronts, roughly 1.7–2x the standard Ultra Rare. For a character whose TCG arc has no V, VMAX, VSTAR, or ex card in English (the GX remains the ceiling for special mechanics), that premium reflects genuine print scarcity. The alt art promo was distributed through specific channels rather than pulled from retail sets, which limits the available supply compared to the standard Ultra Rare printed across normal Unbroken Bonds booster boxes.

The Japanese import sits above that. Dedenne GX 175/173 from a Japanese promotional set uses alternate artwork and carries a consistent import premium at $52.

The English alt art promo is the practical collector target: enough visual distinction from the standard Ultra Rare to justify the binder slot, available from multiple sellers, and priced at a range where grading decisions become relevant (a PSA 10 on a $30 raw card is worth evaluating before submission fees).

The Radiant Collection: The Most Overlooked Dedenne Print

Most collectors chasing Dedenne TCG focus on the GX era and overlook RC10/RC32 entirely. That is a mistake worth knowing about.

Dedenne RC10/RC32 comes from the XY: Generations Radiant Collection subset, released in 2016 for the 20th anniversary of Pokémon. The Radiant Collection was a 32-card subset embedded inside the Generations set, featuring a distinctive pink-sparkle foiling treatment applied across the entire card face: a different foil pattern, different finish, and a visual weight that stands apart from normal Energy-map holo treatment. It was a limited printing in a commemorative set that has not been reprinted.

Current pricing is $24 USD (HFX Games) to CA$37 (401 Games). For a card that carries no competitive value and sits at an Uncommon rarity, those numbers reflect the Radiant Collection premium directly.

Collectors building complete binder pages for Dedenne who want a print from the XY era will find this card harder to locate than the GX, and more visually distinctive than the standard Forbidden Light 88/131 uncommon, which trades at $4–9. The RC10 is the XY collector's answer to where to go once the GX is in hand.

The Plush Lineup: Four Entry Points

Dedenne has plush across four distinct price points, each with a different product line and format.

The All Star Collection Mascot from San-ei Boeki (PM50) is the lowest entry at $14 from Ichiba Japan. It is a keychain-format plush: smaller proportions than a shelf piece, accurate enough to the character design, and a reasonable starting point for someone who wants a Dedenne representation without committing to a full-size plush.

The Pokémon Fit from Pokémon Center Japan is the reference piece at $18. It sits at shelf-standard proportions, uses the rounded Fit line style consistent with the rest of the catalog, and is the plush most Dedenne collectors consider the baseline item. The $18 price at Ichiba Japan is the import price; sourcing directly from a Japanese carrier is the most cost-efficient path for this item.

The standard Takara Tomy plush and the "I Choose You!" character plush both land in the $36–40 range. The "I Choose You!" version references the 2017 theatrical release and carries that specific branded context.

Neither is significantly harder to source than the Fit. The price gap reflects size and license, not scarcity.

The Legends: Z-A Window

Pokémon Legends: Z-A releases October 16, 2026, set in Lumiose City, the central hub of Kalos.

Dedenne is a Kalos native. It was never a Lumiose City encounter in X and Y (its habitat is Route 11, east of Camphrier Town), but the game's Kalos focus has been drawing renewed attention to the generation's full character roster. For collectors building out Kalos coverage, Dedenne is an uncrowded character: the GX prints are stable, the Radiant Collection RC10 is underpriced relative to its print quality, and the plush entry starts at $14.

No ex or V upgrade is expected for Dedenne in the current Scarlet and Violet era. The character's competitive GX ceiling is what it is, and that sets clear bounds on where the premium prints sit. That clarity makes the collector decision straightforward: the $14–18 plush range for casual fans, the $17 standard GX Ultra Rare for competitive-era collectors, and the $25–32 alt art promo for those who want the premium print in the character's TCG ceiling set.
