Grass Energy moves freely in this box.
The Mega Venusaur ex Premium Collection, released December 5, 2025, contains one playable foil promo card, one oversize lenticular promo card, one tech sticker, and eight Pokémon TCG booster packs. That's the complete contents list, confirmed on the official Pokémon product gallery. Observed storefront prices range from roughly $48 to $96 USD as of October 2026.

What's inside the Mega Venusaur ex Premium Collection
The box holds four distinct items. Each is described below with its format and purpose.
| Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Foil promo card: Mega Venusaur ex | 1 | Standard size; playable in Mega Evolution format events |
| Oversize lenticular promo card: Mega Venusaur ex | 1 | Jumbo format; display only, not tournament-legal |
| Tech sticker sheet | 1 | For decorating devices, binders, and notebooks |
| Pokémon TCG booster packs | 8 | Merchant listings report: 2x Mega Evolution, 3x Journey Together, 3x Destined Rivals |
The foil promo features Mega Venusaur ex's Solar Transfer Ability, which lets you move Grass Energy among your Pokémon as you please each turn. This mechanic sits at the core of what makes the card more than a display piece.
Solar Transfer solves the energy dead-turn problem that comes with Mega Evolving. When you evolve a Venusaur ex, you skip your normal attack for that turn, but any Energy on your bench carries forward because Solar Transfer lets you redistribute it at the start of your next turn.
No other Grass-type Mega in the standard lineup shares this built-in Energy recovery. That makes the Venusaur ex promo one of the more tactically distinct cards in the Mega Evolution series.
The lenticular oversize card uses a depth-shifting print format that creates the appearance of motion as you tilt the card. Standard-size TCG cards are not produced with lenticular effects because of the card stock constraints, so the oversize format is the only way to display this art style. Both promos feature the same Mega Venusaur ex artwork but at different scales and in different print treatments.
The eight booster packs are drawn from three sets, per merchant pack listings. Mega Evolution packs (ME01, the Mega Evolution Base Set) give you a direct shot at pulling additional Mega Evolution rares. Journey Together and Destined Rivals packs round out the remaining six slots with newer Scarlet & Violet era pulls.

MSRP and where prices stand in 2026
An official MSRP from The Pokémon Company has not been confirmed from a primary source for this collection. The table below shows observed storefront prices from independent merchants on DexHaul as of October 9, 2026.
| Price range (USD) | Price per pack (est.) | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| $47.90 – $52.00 | $5.99 – $6.50 | Lower end of current listings; check seller ratings |
| $75.00 – $84.00 | $9.38 – $10.50 | Mid-range from established hobby shops |
| $87.99 – $96.00 | $11.00 – $12.00 | Upper range; typically includes faster shipping or seller guarantees |
The promo foil and oversize lenticular card add value beyond the eight packs. If you compared the pack-only cost, eight individual Mega Evolution or Scarlet & Violet packs at $5–$7 each would run $40–$56, meaning the promos and sticker carry the premium above that baseline at most price points.
How it compares to other Mega Evolution Premium Collections
Two other Mega Evolution Premium Collections in the same product line trade alongside the Venusaur box: Mega Greninja ex (Chaos Rising series) and Mega Zygarde ex. Both include a foil promo, an oversize promo, and booster packs, but at different observed prices.
| Collection | Observed price (USD) | Booster packs | Promo Pokémon |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mega Venusaur ex Premium Collection | $47.90 – $96.00 | 8 | Mega Venusaur ex (Grass, Solar Transfer) |
| Mega Greninja ex (Chaos Rising) | $52.00 – $55.00 | 8 | Mega Greninja ex (Water) |
| Mega Zygarde ex Premium Collection | $49.95 | 8 | Mega Zygarde ex (Dragon/Ground) |
Greninja and Zygarde list closer together at $49–$55, while Venusaur shows a wider spread. That spread reflects differing seller stock levels, not product differences. All three collections share the same format: foil promo, lenticular oversize, sticker, eight packs.
For a breakdown of which booster packs appear across the full Mega Evolution line, see the Pokémon TCG Booster Bundles guide. For the Mega Gengar ex Mega Battle Deck, which is a separate product format, see the Mega Gengar ex Battle Deck contents page.

Who it's for, and who should skip it
Buy it if you're building a Mega Venusaur ex deck
The foil promo gives you a tournament-legal copy of Mega Venusaur ex without hunting the single-card market. The Solar Transfer Ability is genuinely useful in Grass-type builds, and the promo artwork is exclusive to this product. If you need the card for play, this is the most reliable single-box source.
Buy it if you want the lenticular oversize for display
Lenticular oversized cards are rare in the modern Mega Evolution era. This is one of the few products where the oversize card has a visual effect beyond standard foiling. Collectors who display premium Pokémon products will find it distinct from the regular jumbo reprints.
Skip it if you only want the booster packs
Eight packs is a reasonable haul, but you can buy individual Mega Evolution, Journey Together, or Destined Rivals booster bundles for roughly the same cost and get more pack-per-dollar. The premium on this collection is priced into the promos. If you have no use for the Venusaur ex promo specifically, a standalone booster bundle is the better value.
FAQ
Is the Mega Venusaur ex foil promo tournament-legal?
Yes. The foil promo card is standard size and playable in Mega Evolution format events and any format where the card is legal. The oversize lenticular promo is display-only and not tournament-legal.
What booster packs come in the Mega Venusaur ex Premium Collection?
Eight packs total. Merchant pack listings report two Mega Evolution (ME01) packs, three Journey Together packs, and three Destined Rivals packs, though specific pack selection may vary by regional print run. The Pokémon Company's official product page lists "eight booster packs" without specifying sets.
How is this different from the Mega Venusaur ex Ultra Premium Collection?
There is no Mega Venusaur ex Ultra Premium Collection as of October 2026. The Ultra Premium Collection in the Mega Evolution line features Mega Charizard X ex and carries a significantly higher MSRP and more premium contents. The Mega Venusaur ex Premium Collection is a standard Premium Collection format.
Is the Mega Venusaur ex promo numbered differently from the set card?
Yes. Promo cards in the Mega Evolution series carry a separate promo number (typically prefixed "PR-ME" or listed as "SWSH" or "SVP" depending on the set era). The promo in this collection is a separate card entry from any Mega Venusaur ex appearing in the main ME01 Mega Evolution set, though both may share artwork or mechanics.
When did the Mega Venusaur ex Premium Collection release?
It released globally on December 5, 2025, per the official Pokémon product listing and merchant release-date records.
