Paradox Destinies Tins: The Four Variants Ranked for October 2026
By Dexhaul Team · October 3, 2026
Two of the four Johto Legendary Beasts just got confirmed as ex stars in ME07 Aura Seeker.
That makes the Paradox Destinies tins one of the more interesting sealed buys right now. Each tin features an ex promo of a Temporal Forces Paradox Pokémon: Raging Bolt, Gouging Fire, Iron Boulder, or Iron Crown.
Two of those Paradox forms are the ancient counterparts of Raikou and Entei. The other two are not Johto Beasts at all. Which variant you pick depends on whether that distinction matters to you.
Here is what each tin contains, where prices land, and the one non-obvious asymmetry in this product lineup that most buyers miss.
What the Paradox Destinies Tins Are
The Paradox Destinies tins are a Scarlet and Violet era seasonal product from The Pokémon Company International. Each sealed tin contains Scarlet and Violet series booster packs alongside a holo promo card. The four character-specific variants were released as part of the same product wave, all featuring Paradox Pokémon introduced in Temporal Forces (SV5).
Four variants are available: Raging Bolt ex, Gouging Fire ex, Iron Boulder ex, and Iron Crown ex. A fifth listing, sold by several sellers as "Random" or "Styles May Vary," ships one tin from the lineup without specifying which character. The character-specific tins command a premium over the random option at most sellers, with the gap ranging from a few dollars to roughly $15 depending on the retailer.
All five versions are currently in stock across independent sellers in the DexHaul catalogue. Price floor sits at $24.99 for the random listing and $32.90 for the cheapest character-specific tin.
Raging Bolt ex: The Temporal Forces Raikou
Raging Bolt is an Ancient Paradox Pokémon introduced in Temporal Forces. It represents the ancient past form of Raikou, redesigned as a quadrupedal Electric and Dragon type with raw physical bulk. The Temporal Forces card is a Pokémon ex at 160 HP, with a Lightning and Dragon typing that does not appear on any canonical Raikou card in the English TCG.
ME07 Aura Seeker confirms Raikou as one of its ex star cards, the highest rarity tier in the Mega Evolution series. Raging Bolt ex and Raikou ex star are separate cards of related but distinct Pokémon.
The promo is not a substitute for the ex star. It is, however, the only sealed format currently in stock where Raikou's Paradox counterpart is the featured product. For collectors building around the Johto Beast theme, the Raging Bolt tin is the specific variant to seek out.
Current in-stock prices: $32.90 at Ravli (floor), $45.00 at Trading Card Market, up to $65.00 at higher-margin sellers. Three or more independent sellers currently list the Raging Bolt variant in stock.
Gouging Fire ex: The Temporal Forces Entei
Gouging Fire is Entei's Ancient Paradox counterpart from Temporal Forces. It shifts Entei's pure Fire typing to Fire and Dragon, giving it a dual-type identity it does not have in any mainline game form. The Temporal Forces card is a Pokémon ex at 170 HP, the highest HP among the four Paradox Destinies promos.
Entei is also confirmed as an ex star in ME07 Aura Seeker, the same collector moment as Raikou. Gouging Fire and Raging Bolt are the only two tins in this lineup with that specific connection to the November release. If you are building a Johto Beast sealed collection, these are the two variants to prioritize over Iron Boulder and Iron Crown.
Prices for the Gouging Fire tin range from $32.90 (floor) to $49.99. It trades at similar levels to the Raging Bolt variant across most sellers.
Iron Boulder ex and Iron Crown ex
Iron Boulder is a Future Paradox form of Regirock. Iron Crown is the Future Paradox form of Cobalion, one of the Unova Swords of Justice.
Neither has the Johto Beast connection that Raging Bolt and Gouging Fire carry into October 2026. Both are Temporal Forces promos at the Pokémon ex rarity tier.
Iron Boulder has the lowest in-stock price of any character-specific variant at $34.99 (Goldenrod City LLC). Iron Crown shows the thinnest supply: only one seller in the current catalogue lists it at a specific in-stock price, against three or more sellers for each of the Johto Beast variants. If Iron Crown is your target, $46.48 at TCG Best Value Collectibles is the only confirmed option right now.
Random vs Character-Specific: The Price and Probability Math
The random listing at $24.99 is the cheapest entry point in the lineup. With four variants in the set, you have roughly a one-in-four chance of pulling the specific character you want. For buyers who only care about the sealed product and the booster packs inside, the random version makes sense.
For anyone targeting Raging Bolt or Gouging Fire specifically, the math shifts. The $24.99 random floor means three out of four purchases at that price produce a character you did not want.
Paying $32.90 for the specific variant you want costs $8 more but eliminates that uncertainty entirely. The price gap narrows further at sellers where the random option lists above $35.
One asymmetry worth noting: the Paradox Clash tins, a related but separate product, feature Walking Wake ex, the Ancient Paradox form of Suicune. That series is also currently listed in the DexHaul catalogue.
If you want all three Johto Legendary Beast Paradox forms across sealed products, Raging Bolt and Gouging Fire come from Paradox Destinies; Walking Wake comes from Paradox Clash. The two tin lines are not interchangeable.
