Pokémon Scale World Figures (2026): Every 1/20 Scale

Pokémon Scale World is Bandai Shokugan's line of 1/20 scale pre-painted miniature figures. At roughly 3-7 cm tall depending on the character, each figure is sculpted to exact proportion so every Pokémon and trainer in the line could stand side by side in correct size relationship to one another. The line began with Kanto in 2019 and has expanded through Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Kalos, and Paldea, with six regional sub-lines now available from import sellers. Prices range from $10 for a three-figure starter set to $229 for a complete 11-figure Kanto bundle.

The answer to "where do I start" is almost always Kanto. It has the widest character selection, the most import sellers, and the lowest per-figure entry price. Johto and Sinnoh are solid follow-ons. Hoenn's most exciting releases (Kyogre, Groudon) are pre-order for early 2027.

Scale World is not a play toy. It is a display line: no moving parts, painted PVC, sold individually or in gacha-style sets through Bandai's Candy Toy and Shokugan label. Import sellers carry the line globally.

Kanto Region: The Deepest Sub-Line

The Kanto sub-line has the longest release history and the widest range of figures. It is also where the numbering system tells you something useful about price. Sets 01-06 are grouped multi-figure packages at $10: Set 01 packs Bulbasaur, Squirtle, and Charmander together; Set 02 pairs Pikachu and Charmeleon; Set 04 includes Mew and Ivysaur. Sets 07-09 are single figures for the fully-evolved Kanto starters.

Venusaur (No. 07), Charizard (No. 08), and Blastoise (No. 09) were released as standalone pieces in a later wave specifically to capture demand for the evolved forms at premium pricing. On import, that single Charizard figure costs $39-62 depending on the seller, compared to $10 for three pre-evolutions in Set 01. Both are from the same original Bandai Candy Toy run, just packaged differently.

Trainer-and-Pokémon pairs are a separate tier. Red with Snorlax and Poké Flute, and Lance with Dragonite, are each $59 on import. The Professor Oak bundle with all three fully-evolved starters runs $198 for four figures. Johto and Hoenn

The Johto sub-line follows the same gacha structure. Typhlosion is the most consistently available individual Johto figure at $10, while the complete Johto Region set trades at $35,254 JPY (approximately $237 USD) from Japanese import sellers. The Raikou, Entei, and Suicune trio is a pre-order from Philippine sellers at 4,500 PHP.

Hoenn is the most anticipation-driven region right now. Sceptile ($47) and Swampert ($47) are in stock from Ichiba Japan. Kyogre and Groudon are confirmed upcoming: Groudon pre-orders at $98 ship January 2027, and Kyogre at $81 ships February 2027. These are the flagship legendaries of the Hoenn generation and are likely to generate collector demand on release.

Sinnoh, Kalos, and Paldea

The Sinnoh sub-line includes some of the line's most desirable trainer pairings. Infernape is $14.99 at Canadian importers, Palkia runs $108.57 from French specialists, and Gardenia with Torterra is $86.99. Sinnoh Region Set No.3 groups several Sinnoh figures for $48 and is the easiest way to build the set without hunting individual releases.

Kalos is shorter in catalogue depth but includes one standout piece: Professor Sycamore paired with Mega Charizard X at $69. That trainer-and-mega pairing is the kind of display centerpiece the line does especially well. The standalone Kalos Region figure runs $18 from Australian importers.

Paldea's current Scale World presence is the Eevee Evolutions Set at $57. Nine Eeveelutions at 1/20 scale in a single set makes it one of the better multi-figure value propositions in the current Paldea catalogue. This is a separate SKU from the Kuttari plush Eevee line and from the Pokémon Center standard plush: Scale World figures are hard PVC, not soft goods.

Where to Start

Three entry points cover most collecting goals. Each maps to a different budget and intent.

Best for new collectors: Kanto multi-figure sets under $15

Set 01 (Bulbasaur, Squirtle, Charmander) at $10 is the lowest-risk way to see Scale World in person. Three figures at 1/20 scale in one package lets you evaluate the painting quality and size before committing to the pricier individual evolved forms. If you like what you see, Pikachu and Charmeleon (Set 02) and Mew and Ivysaur (Set 04) are the same $10 entry point.

Best statement piece: Trainer-and-Pokémon pairings

Red with Snorlax and the Poké Flute ($59) or Lance with Dragonite ($59) are the most photographed Scale World pieces for a reason. The trainer figure adds narrative scale that a standalone Pokémon figure cannot. These are the pieces most likely to anchor a desk display. Compare these with the articulated statue options in the Banpresto prize figures guide and the Moncolle figures guide before choosing a display format.

Best upcoming purchase: Hoenn legendaries on pre-order

Groudon ($98, January 2027) and Kyogre ($81, February 2027) are the two most anticipated upcoming Scale World releases. At this price tier, they sit below the premium statue lines while offering the same proportional accuracy of the rest of the Scale World range.

Display and Scale Notes

Scale World figures ship without a display base in most individual gacha releases. Bandai uses a transparent peg-style base on some figures; multi-figure sets include small diorama terrain pieces. On a standard shelf, the 3-7 cm height means they read well at eye level in a glass cabinet or on a short acrylic riser, but they disappear on a deep shelf viewed from a distance.

The 1/20 scale is consistent across all regions, so figures from different sub-lines can share a display and the relative sizes will be correct. A Snorlax figure from Kanto and a Torterra from Sinnoh will stand at their actual proportional heights relative to each other. This cross-regional scalability is the detail that separates Scale World from similarly priced figure lines where scale is approximate.

FAQ

What scale are Pokémon Scale World figures?

Every figure in the line is 1/20 scale. That means each figure is 1/20th of the Pokémon's in-universe size. A Snorlax figure stands taller than a Pikachu figure in correct proportion. The actual physical height ranges from approximately 3 cm for small Pokémon to 7-9 cm for large ones.

Who makes Pokémon Scale World?

Bandai Shokugan, the candy toy and food toy division of Bandai, produces the Scale World line under license from The Pokémon Company. The figures are part of Bandai's broader Shokugan collector range sold in Japan and available globally through import retailers.

Are Scale World figures blind box or individual?

Both. Early Kanto sets were sold as blind-box candy toys in Japan, where you paid per pack without knowing which figure you received. Import sellers sell confirmed individual figures or full set lots. If you are buying through an import seller on DexHaul, the listing title will name the specific figure or set you receive.

How does Scale World compare to Moncolle figures?

Moncolle figures (also by Takara Tomy, not Bandai) are a separate line and use an approximate scale rather than the strict 1/20 of Scale World. Moncolle are widely available at retail in Japan and from Western import sellers; Scale World is import-only outside Japan. For a full comparison of scale accuracy, price per figure, and character selection, see the Scale World vs Moncolle guide.
