Crown Zenith Galarian Gallery: The Art Subset Worth Hunting in 2026

The Galarian Gallery is not a separate Crown Zenith product. It is a 70-card art subset inside every Crown Zenith booster pack.

That single fact trips up a lot of buyers. Many collectors search for a "Galarian Gallery box" or assume the subset requires a special product, only to find there is nothing to buy.

The GG cards are pulled from standard Crown Zenith packs: the same ones in the ETB, the Booster Bundle, and the Booster Box. If you want them, you open Crown Zenith packs.

What the Galarian Gallery actually contains is worth knowing before you buy anything.

What the Galarian Gallery Is

Crown Zenith released in English on January 20, 2023, as the final main-series set of the Sword & Shield era. As documented on Bulbapedia, the set spans 160 cards in its numbered range, with additional special cards beyond that. The Galarian Gallery sits as a distinct sub-numbered group: 70 cards bearing the prefix GG, numbered GG01/70 through GG70/70.

The art style is the differentiator. Galarian Gallery cards depict Pokémon in sweeping, painted environments that evoke the Galar region's rolling countryside, fog-covered moors, and natural landmarks.

These are not the standard bordered card layouts. They are full-bleed illustrations, which gives each GG card a visual weight that typical holo rares do not carry.

The subset covers a wide range of Pokémon, from common species to legendary Pokémon. Several carry the V and VSTAR designations, making them playable as well as collectible. The full card list is on Bulbapedia's Crown Zenith page.

The GG Cards Worth Targeting

Not every Galarian Gallery card carries the same collector priority. The subset splits into roughly two tiers.

The Legendary and Pseudo-Legendary V Cards

Lugia V is the headline GG card. Lugia is not a Galarian Pokémon by the games' canonical geography, which makes its appearance in a Galarian Gallery surprising to knowledgeable collectors.

The artwork leans into this by placing Lugia in a dramatic sky scene rather than a terrestrial Galar environment. That counterintuitive choice gave the card an outsized identity within the subset. It is the GG pull most buyers specifically target.

Charizard, Gengar, and Pikachu also appear as Galarian Gallery cards, each with artwork that fits the subset's illustrated landscape style. These carry recognition value from their Pokémon popularity regardless of gameplay relevance.

Regieleki and Regidrago

The two Galar-native legendary titans appear in the Galarian Gallery as V cards and are among the most thematically appropriate inclusions in the subset. Collectors targeting Crown Zenith for the Regi pair specifically will find them here in illustrated form, separate from the main-set versions. If you already own the SWSH12 main-set Regidrago VSTAR and want the illustrated companion card, the GG version is what you are looking for.

Which Format to Buy for the Galarian Gallery

Crown Zenith comes in several sealed formats. Each pulls from the same pack pool, so GG cards appear across all of them. The format choice is about cost per pack and how many packs you want to open.

Booster Bundle (6 Packs)

The Booster Bundle is the practical entry for GG hunters who want a meaningful pack count without committing to an ETB's full cost. At $202.00 from Hobbiesville, the Booster Bundle gives you six packs and no accessories. If you already have sleeves and energy cards from prior sets, this is the efficient option: you are buying exactly the packs, nothing else.

Six packs is not enough to work through the full GG roster statistically, but it is a reasonable sample size to see several GG cards and confirm which ones appear in your specific luck range.

Elite Trainer Box

The Crown Zenith ETB includes nine booster packs plus collector accessories: card sleeves, energy cards, dice, and a guide. Independent stores currently list the Crown Zenith ETB in the $310–$340 range, reflecting secondary-market pricing since the set is no longer in standard print runs.

The ETB makes sense for collectors who want the full product experience or are building a sealed collection. For pure GG hunting, the per-pack cost is higher than buying a Booster Bundle, but the ETB includes the premium accessories and the promo card, which some collectors value independently.

Premium Figure Collections

Crown Zenith released Shiny Zacian and Shiny Zamazenta Premium Figure Collections, each including Crown Zenith packs alongside a figure and promo card. ShipTCG lists the Zamazenta version at $319.10.

These products suit collectors who want the sealed product and the figures as display pieces. The packs inside are Crown Zenith packs, meaning GG cards can appear, but the price per pack is the highest of any sealed format. Pure pack hunters will get better value from a Booster Bundle or ETB.

Buying Singles Instead

If you want specific GG cards rather than the experience of opening packs, the singles market is the cleaner route.

Crown Zenith has been on the secondary market since early 2023, which means GG card prices have had time to settle across multiple sellers. Lapras GG05/70, one of the less-chased GG entries, is available from sellers like Danireon as a graded or raw single.

The most-wanted GG cards (Lugia V, Charizard) command higher premiums, consistent with their demand across other SWSH sets. Buying singles removes the pack-luck variable entirely and lets you build the GG subset in any order you choose.

The Japanese Equivalent: VSTAR Universe

Crown Zenith's Japanese counterpart is VSTAR Universe, released in Japan on December 2, 2022, several weeks before the English set launched. The Pokémon Company's TCG page documents how English and Japanese sets often share card art across release windows, and VSTAR Universe is the case here: the GG card artwork in English Crown Zenith maps directly to VSTAR Universe's illustrative cards in Japan.

For collectors interested in Japanese printing, VSTAR Universe booster boxes trade around $229.99 from specialty stores like Collection Realm. Japanese card stock and printing characteristics differ from English, which some collectors prefer for display-grade singles. The same illustrated art, different printing specification: the choice between them is mostly about collector preference rather than art availability.

Why 2026 Is a Reasonable Time to Buy

Crown Zenith is three and a half years into its secondary-market life as of September 2026. It left standard rotation in the competitive TCG format, which removed gameplay demand from the secondary market.

Prices have pulled back from 2023 highs. Collectors waiting for post-rotation stabilization have had that window since late 2023.

Crown Zenith's position as the final SWSH era set gives it collector significance beyond its card content. The end of a generation consistently attracts collectors who want to complete the era, which keeps demand from falling as far as a mid-cycle set might. GG cards have held particularly steady because their full-bleed illustrated style has no direct equivalent in the Scarlet and Violet era's card aesthetic.
