Shrouded Fable (SV6.5) is one of only two Scarlet and Violet sets released without a booster box, and that single format restriction changes every sealed purchase decision from the $12 Mini Tin up to the $165 Pokemon Center Exclusive ETB.
Released August 2, 2024, the English set contains 64 numbered cards plus a substantial run of secret rares numbered beyond that cap. Its featured Pokémon are Pecharunt, the Mythical introduced in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero DLC, alongside the three Loyal Three: Okidogi, Munkidori, and Fezandipiti. Darkrai ex rounds out the set's headline pull targets, giving it a dual mascot profile that appeals to collectors who track both Mythical releases and fan-favorite Dark types.
The set sits chronologically between Twilight Masquerade (SV6) and Stellar Crown (SV7), and it reads as a focused mini-set rather than a full expansion. Sixty-four numbered cards is a compact pull target list, which means collectors who want a near-complete set face a more achievable task than in a standard 200-card expansion.
Why the No-Box Format Matters
Most SV sets ship in five sealed formats: single booster packs, booster bundles, Elite Trainer Boxes, Ultra-Premium Collections, and sub-products like tins and blisters. Booster boxes hold 36 packs at a fixed MSRP, giving retailers a straightforward arbitrage path: break boxes, sell packs, pocket the margin or absorb losses on weak pulls.
Shrouded Fable does not have that layer.
Without a booster box to anchor pack supply, there is no cheap case-opening pipeline flooding the secondary market with surplus packs. Collectors and speculators who want large quantities of packs must pay ETB or Booster Bundle prices, which carry a higher cost per pack than box packs. In practice, this structural scarcity tends to stabilize ETB pricing over the months following release: the floor holds better because there is no inventory overhang from case breakers who pulled poorly and are selling off remaining packs below cost.
Paldean Fates (SV8.5) followed the same no-booster-box pattern, and collectors who observed both sets found that sealed ETB prices remained firmer than comparable standard-expansion ETBs over the same timeline. That does not make Shrouded Fable a guaranteed price performer, but it is context worth knowing before you decide whether to open or store your boxes.

Standard Elite Trainer Box
The Shrouded Fable ETB holds nine booster packs, a foil Pecharunt promo card, 45 Energy cards, a collector pin, condition-tracking dice, and a card-storage tray. Independent sellers list it between $130 and $160 depending on stock levels. It is the format most collectors default to: enough packs to pull most of the rarity tiers at least once, plus the accessories to make opening feel like a complete experience.
Pokemon Center Exclusive ETB
The Pokemon Center Exclusive version carries the same nine packs but pairs them with a different Pecharunt promo card and enhanced accessories. Expect to pay $165 to $175 from third-party sellers who carry the exclusive variant. The decision is simple: if the exclusive promo design matters to you, pay the premium; if it does not, the standard ETB gives you identical packs at a lower price.
Mini Tins
Each Mini Tin holds two booster packs and a collector coin. At $12 to $22 depending on the vendor and character variant, Mini Tins are the lowest-barrier way to open Shrouded Fable sealed product.
Four character variants exist: one for each Loyal Three member and a Pecharunt tin. Collectors who focus on a specific Pokémon often pick the matching tin as a low-commitment way to add the coin to a collection.
They also work well as stocking stuffers or single-pack gifts for players who already own the set staples and just want more packs.
Booster Bundle
The Booster Bundle delivers ten packs in a single SKU, no accessories and no promo card included. Current independent-seller pricing puts it between $35 and $55 USD, making the per-pack cost competitive with the ETB when you subtract the value you assign to accessories. If you want to maximize packs opened per dollar and have no interest in the promo card or accessories, the Booster Bundle is the cleaner format.
3-Pack Blisters
The Pecharunt 3-Pack Blister holds three booster packs and includes a foil Pecharunt promo card. Priced around $65 from specialty sellers, it sits between the Mini Tin and the Booster Bundle in both pack count and cost. It is a solid middle option: you get the promo card without the full ETB commitment, and three packs is enough to pull at least one card from the higher rarity tiers on average.
Key Singles: The Cards Collectors Are Targeting
Pecharunt ex appears across three distinct print positions in the set. The Double Rare at 039/064 is the base ex version, currently trading around $5 from independent sellers. That is a clean binder entry for any Mythical Pokémon collector who wants the card without opening packs.
Beyond the base ex, Secret Rare versions of Pecharunt ex carry Special Illustration Rare artwork and a Hyper Rare gold treatment. Prices for those higher-rarity versions vary significantly by seller and condition, so check current listings rather than assuming a fixed price.
The Loyal Three each have their own ex cards, and Okidogi ex, Munkidori ex, and Fezandipiti ex all appear in Secret Rare variants as well. Darkrai ex rounds out the primary pull targets. Pack value first: the Booster Bundle gives the most packs per dollar if you skip the accessories and promo. The standard ETB is the better pick if you want the full unboxing experience and the standard Pecharunt promo.
The Pokemon Center Exclusive ETB makes sense only if the exclusive promo variant matters to you specifically. It offers identical packs at a $25 to $35 premium over the standard ETB.
Mini Tins are gift-tier or sampling-tier products. They are not an efficient way to pull specific Secret Rares, but they are a reasonable way to add a tin and coin to a collection while getting two packs of variance. 3-Pack Blisters offer the promo card plus three packs at a price point well below the ETB for collectors who mainly want the promo.
For collectors who already know their targets: singles from the Double Rare tier are inexpensive and widely available.
