What's inside the Astral Radiance ETB
| Item | Quantity | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Astral Radiance booster packs | 8 (standard) / 11 (PC) | 10 cards per pack; set code SWSH10 |
| Darkrai card sleeves | 65 | Fits standard TCG card size; tournament-legal |
| Basic Energy cards | 45 | Mix of types to build a variety of decks |
| Acrylic VSTAR marker | 1 | New to SWSH09+ ETBs; marks when VSTAR Power is used |
| Damage-counter dice | 6 | Standard 6-sided; used for HP tracking |
| Competition-legal coin-flip die | 1 | Replaces a standard coin at tournament tables |
| Reference cards | 2 | Player's guide for the set |
| TCG Live code card | 1 | Redeems 8 digital booster packs in Pokémon TCG Live |
| Foil Darkrai promo card (PC only) | 2 | One with Pokémon Center logo; exclusive to the PC version |
The acrylic VSTAR marker is the one item unique to ETBs from Brilliant Stars (SWSH09) onward. Earlier SWSH ETBs did not include it. A sealed Astral Radiance ETB that's missing this marker from its accessory tray has almost certainly been opened and resealed.
MSRP and price per pack
The standard Astral Radiance ETB launched at $49.99 MSRP, making its pack price $6.25 each at retail. The PC ETB had no separately listed MSRP; its 3 extra packs and exclusive promos made it a Pokémon Center–only product at a higher price point.
| Version | Launch MSRP | Packs included | MSRP per pack | Exclusive contents |

How it compares to other SWSH ETBs
Astral Radiance sits in the middle of the final SWSH ETB run. Brilliant Stars came first (Feb 2022) and introduced the VSTAR marker. Lost Origin followed in September 2022 with the same 8-pack, $49.99 structure.
| ETB | Set code | Launch | Packs | MSRP | Featured sleeve Pokémon |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Brilliant Stars ETB | SWSH09 | Feb 25, 2022 | 8 | $49.99 | Arceus |
| Astral Radiance ETB | SWSH10 | May 27, 2022 | 8 | $49.99 | Darkrai |
| Lost Origin ETB | SWSH11 | Sep 9, 2022 | 8 | $49.99 | Giratina |
All three launched at the same $49.99 MSRP with identical accessory trays. The meaningful difference is the set itself: Astral Radiance introduced the Radiant Pokémon mechanic and Origin Forme cards not present in Brilliant Stars or Lost Origin.
If you're choosing between the two comparisons, see Brilliant Stars vs Astral Radiance ETB and Astral Radiance vs Silver Tempest for a full decision breakdown.
About the set: Astral Radiance (SWSH10)
Sword & Shield Astral Radiance is the tenth main set in the Sword & Shield TCG era and contains 189 cards in the base set, with Secret Rares numbered above 189. It introduced two new mechanics.
Radiant Pokémon
Radiant Pokémon follow a once-per-deck rule: you can only include one Radiant Pokémon in your deck, regardless of name. They are Basic Pokémon with no evolution stage, and their Shiny treatment makes them visually distinct from standard cards. Astral Radiance introduced four Radiant cards: Radiant Heatran, Radiant Hawlucha, Radiant Steelix, and Radiant Greninja.
Origin Forme Pokémon
Origin Forme Palkia and Origin Forme Dialga debuted in this set as VSTAR Pokémon, matching their appearance in Pokémon Legends: Arceus (released Jan 28, 2022). Their Alternate Art Secret Rare versions are the set's most sought-after cards.
The set also marks the first TCG appearances of several Hisuian Pokémon introduced in Legends: Arceus, including Hisuian Decidueye VMAX, Hisuian Typhlosion VMAX, Hisuian Lilligant VSTAR, and Kleavor V.

Who should buy the Astral Radiance ETB
For players building a Radiant deck
Radiant Greninja sees competitive play as a utility draw engine. Opening ETBs is not an efficient way to acquire specific singles, but if you want to experience the full Radiant Pokémon lineup in one box, this ETB is the direct path.
For collectors targeting Hisuian firsts
This ETB is the only way to pull first-print Hisuian Decidueye VMAX, Hisuian Typhlosion VMAX, and Hisuian Lilligant VSTAR from sealed English product tied directly to their debut set. The Origin Forme Palkia VSTAR and Dialga VSTAR Alternate Art variants are among the highest-value cards in the SWSH era.
Who should skip it
If your only goal is the Darkrai sleeves, loose packs are cheaper per sleeve. If you want the Origin Forme Alternate Arts specifically, buying certified singles is more cost-effective than opening ETBs.
