Pokémon Legends: Z-A Nintendo Switch 2 + Mega Dimension Bundle (2026): Contents, Price, and Release Date
By Dexhaul Team · October 9, 2026 · 6 min read
The Pokémon Legends: Z-A Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Mega Dimension bundle combines the full game, the complete Mega Dimension DLC, and a bonus 100 Ultra Balls code in a single physical cartridge. Pre-orders from multiple retailers confirm an October 29, 2026 physical release date, priced at $99.99 USD.
That price lands one cent above buying the Switch 2 Edition ($69.99) and the Mega Dimension DLC ($29.99) digitally on Nintendo's platform: a combined $99.98. The physical bundle adds the Ultra Balls code that the digital route does not include.
If you already own Legends: Z-A on original Nintendo Switch and activated the Switch 2 upgrade pack when the game launched in October 2025, this bundle is not for you. It is built for first-time buyers picking up Z-A on Switch 2 now, one year after release.

What's in the bundle
| Item | Notes |
|---|---|
| Pokémon Legends: Z-A (Nintendo Switch 2 Edition) | Full game, enhanced resolution and framerate for Switch 2; also playable on original Nintendo Switch at base settings |
| Mega Dimension DLC | Post-game story featuring Hoopa in Hyperspace Lumiose; 19 new Mega Evolution forms including Lucario Z, Garchomp Z, Darkrai, Magearna, and Baxcalibur |
| Pre-order bonus: 100 Ultra Balls (code) | Physical purchase bonus; one code per cartridge; code included as insert |
The Mega Dimension DLC was sold separately as a digital download from December 10, 2025, when its story content launched. This physical bundle is the first retail packaging to include it on a cartridge alongside the base game.
Price breakdown: bundle vs. buying separately
The bundle's value case is narrow but real. All prices are observed from retailer listings on October 9, 2026.
| Option | Price (USD) | Includes Ultra Balls bonus |
|---|---|---|
| Switch 2 Edition + Mega Dimension bundle (physical) | $99.99 | Yes (100 Ultra Balls code) |
| Switch 2 Edition digital ($69.99) + DLC digital ($29.99) | $99.98 | No |
| Switch 2 Edition physical (game only) | $44.99–$72.99 | No |
| Mega Dimension DLC (code in box, separate) | from $32.00 | No |
Buying the bundle at $99.99 saves one cent over the digital pair and adds the 100 Ultra Balls. It costs more than finding the game-only physical cartridge at $44.99, but that lower price does not include the DLC.
The honest call: if you already downloaded the Mega Dimension DLC when it launched digitally, the physical bundle duplicates content you own. In that case, the standalone cartridge at $44.99–$72.99 is the sharper buy.
What the Mega Dimension DLC adds
The Mega Dimension DLC launched in two waves. The first wave, on October 16, 2025, added the Holo-X and Holo-Y cosmetic outfits. The story content, set in Hyperspace Lumiose with the mythical Pokémon Hoopa, followed on December 10, 2025.
The DLC expands the Mega Evolution roster meaningfully. The base game introduced 26 new Megas not previously seen in Pokémon X & Y or Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. The Mega Dimension DLC adds 19 more, including Garchomp Z, Lucario Z, Absol Z, Darkrai, and Baxcalibur.
Several of these carry the "Z" suffix indicating a distinct form introduced specifically in the Legends Z-A arc.
Over 100 additional Pokémon spanning generations 1 through 9 also become catchable in the post-game areas, including legendaries.

How it compares to other Legends: Z-A editions
Legends: Z-A launched with multiple editions, and the physical bundle is its latest packaging. See the full breakdown in the Switch vs. Switch 2 buyers guide and the complete Z-A buyers guide for context on the game itself.
The Mega Dimension DLC is also the entry point to the expanded Mega Evolution roster that made Z-A one of the most discussed games of 2025. Whether you want that content for gameplay or for TCG reference (many of the new Z-type Megas have appeared on cards in the Mega Evolution sets), it's a substantive addition.
Who should buy the bundle, and who should skip it
Buy the bundle if you
Have not yet played Legends: Z-A and want everything in one physical cartridge. At $99.99, it costs the same as buying the Switch 2 Edition and DLC digitally but gives you a physical copy with the Ultra Balls bonus. It also works on the original Nintendo Switch, so a Switch 2 is not required.
Buy the game-only cartridge if you
Already own the Mega Dimension DLC digitally, or plan to buy the DLC later. The standalone Switch 2 Edition starts at $44.99 in current listings, saving at least $55 over the bundle if DLC duplication is a concern.
Skip physical entirely if you
Already own both the game and the DLC in digital form. There is no additional gameplay content in the physical bundle that is not already in the digital versions.
Frequently asked questions
Does the Pokémon Legends: Z-A Switch 2 + Mega Dimension bundle work on the original Nintendo Switch?
Yes. The cartridge is compatible with both Nintendo Switch 2 and the original Nintendo Switch. The Switch 2 Edition enhancements (higher resolution, faster framerate) only apply when played on Switch 2 hardware.
Is the Mega Dimension DLC already on the cartridge, or is it a separate download code?
Retailer pre-order listings describe the DLC as included as part of the cartridge contents. Confirm the specific delivery method with your retailer at purchase, as code-in-box variants also exist separately.
What is the MSRP for the Switch 2 + Mega Dimension physical bundle?
No official MSRP has been published as of October 9, 2026. US retailer pre-order prices observed on that date range from $99.97 to $99.99. This aligns with the combined digital price of $69.99 (Switch 2 Edition) plus $29.99 (DLC).
Can I upgrade from the original Switch version to the Switch 2 Edition instead of buying the bundle?
Yes. Owners of the original Legends: Z-A can purchase the Switch 2 Edition upgrade pack separately rather than buying this full bundle. The upgrade path was available from launch on October 16, 2025; check Nintendo's platform for current pricing on the upgrade.
